Floor learned to support her upper body with her arms as not to hurt her neck. She is never dizzy. She even did it whilst she was pregnant last year! Marko, the bassist, said he liked to sing with Floor because he could belt as loud as her.
Yes, she is doing the move with her spine/back as well as her head, so the strain between her neck and spine is minimized. Think of it like spinning just your wrist vs spinning your hand and arm from the elbow
If you look at Floor's windmilling you will see she's not doing a full circle but half a circle. That also helps her. Floor told that in one of the interviews.

Marko is insanely talented vocalist, and has been the lead vocalist in metal bands since the mid 80s! He also won the Finnish masked singer a few years back
He is technically one of the most talented and versatile male singers in the scene
From the same concert, take a look at "I Want My Tears Back" where you'll meet their sixth member, Troy Donockley. Troy is their multi-instrumentalist and the joke is, it's easier to list the instruments he doesn't play. He also sings as well, so in some songs we're hearing three part harmonies. In this song, Emppu pranks Floor. Though the editor cut out the actual prank (the dummy), you'll see Emppu and Troy scheming, then Floor's reaction afterward. The height difference between Floor and Emppu is hilarious. On meeting Floor he said, "She's two of me!"

@@marty6945 That version is great as well. The crowd really gets into it, but the video editing is even worse than Wacken. I've seen a fancam of the Buenos Aires performance and at one point Floor chases Emppu across the stage. They were having a ton of fun, but the video editor cut that all out. At least in the Wacken video, some of that remains.

There's another video where Floor chases Emppu up onto Troy's riser at the Hartwell Arena in Helsinki, 2015 or 2016 during the same song. She'll give Emppu this little 'let's dance' shimmy and Emppu runs away. The two of them have a great on-stage relationship.
I love the blue light on Marco when he's singing his lines. It really makes him look a little psycho. Also, great look on Donna's face when Floor and Marco were doing their ascending slide.

This concert is from 2013, and she was still a substitute teacher (sorry, I mean singer). She was replacing the 2nd Nightwish singer who had left the band during the tour. Soon after the end of the tour, Floor was made permanent. Nightwish is currently working on a new album, it will be the 3rd with Floor. She also just released her solo career, which is very different than Nightwish. Now I feel I should mention that she just beat breast cancer and had a baby (her 2nd daughter with Sabaton's drummer Hannes). She is a beast! you should listen Devil and the deep dark ocean from Buenos Aires concert; i think it was year 2016, i may be mistaken the year, it is one of the heaviest songs but you would hear more Marco's singing.

Yes... Marko, the bassist really can sing and sing really well. Marko, back in 1982 created his own metal band with his brother... in 1984 they renamed their band Tarot. In this band Marko is the lead singer. He continued playing with this band even while he was with Nightwish here.
There are a few Nightwish songs where Marko takes the lead and MANY of us recommend you take a listen to those as well.... but there are about 500 nightwish songs you need to listen to 😁

Floor still says this is the "best" or greatest show they ever played. Thats not saying that they didnt have amazing hows somewhere or taking something from other shows they played. It was jsut so unique she said becasue she was pretty new in the band and it was at one of the biggets metal festivals in the world and everything worked out and they all were so freaing happy. It was the emotion after they knew what they did I believe. The whole concert is on youtube and you can see them tearing up and hugging and just knowing that they jsut delivered :D Its really heartwarming. I recommend to watch it. Not as a reaction but just to get a feeling for the whole concert and show and its so heartwarming. PS: If you wanne hear him sing react to Everdream rom this concert or even better their cover of Phantom of the Opera (but with their old singer Tarya) I dont thign he performed that one with floor.

Marko actually sang in the band quite often before he unfortunately left them recently. 80,000 audience-Nightwish headliner.
You know you haven't heard the whole band yet. There is also Troy, who plays guitars, bouzouki, Irish whistles, bagpipes and also sings. He plays on the folkier songs. You will find him eventually, and he adds a whole new dimension to the band.

He can sound evil but also has a voice like a male angel (especially in their more folky songs like "the Islander"in Tampere (Finland) where he sings almost solo, also in the tribute "high hopes"of Pink Floyd. Floor and Marko sound awesome together.
We Dutchies are the tallest people worldwide, so her hight is not extremely large in Holland, just above average I think. No, it will not hurt anymore, headbanging haha.

Ladies - you're incredable. If you really wonna hear Marco sing at his best you should listen to the unbelieveable tribut of Pink Floyds" "High Hope" during the Nightwish Tour "End of an area" in 2005 in Helsinki. I think many of the commys will recommand this song. I must say, I am an 63 year old metal-fan with a lot of experience on stage, but this tribute blows me away everytime when hearing.. Of course there are still more songs with Marco: "Kiss, while your lips are still red" and without a doubt the simply best "Islander". Stay healthy and best wishes from a fan based in germany.

Nightwisah is basically.. "Floor and the elves".. hahahaha, without her high heeled boots, she is still taller then the rest of the band :D they love in the band.. fun fact, Marco introduced her on the forst show as "Our Flying-Dutchwoman"... and when on tour, the guys steal in hotels and resorts signs and buckets of the sweepers/cleaners.. "Caution Wet Floor".. she is seen in the docu about how she got into Nightwish carrying her lugguage in on of these Wet floor buckets, a bootshaft hanging out and some dress aswell in that yellow bucket.
There is a video where they follow Floor Jansen during a concert and there the interviewer asks her the next day after the concert how she feels and she answers "a little sore" so it actually takes a toll on her.

Yes - because she is so OLD. She is super fit but in the last few years she has had surgery to remove her gall bladder, surgery and chemo for breast cancer and remained active throughout her pregnancy and delivered of her second baby girl. Anyone who doubts her resilience should search for the video of her erecting fence posts for her horse's padock with a sledge hammer - her biceps put many men to shame.

The DVD/Blu-ray from Nightwich consert at Wacken Open Air 2013 have very high quality
There is a video (are videos?) with the whole consert
So the truth about Floors height is 6`0 in total,some just likes to add that extra inch for some reason,but with the high heels she is like 6`5 like Kathy mentioned,so shes a giant up there. Her sister Irene Jansen sings as well and are around the same height and also looks like she can whoop someones behind. So its defintly a "Jansen family dna thing". Theyr mother is average height but theyr father is very tall.
With this song you can really see the passion that drives the original drummer Jukka aka The Pirate,its like he is dancing to the song while pounding those drums,a little trick here and there and still he doesnt miss a single beat. Drumming is like second nature to that man,but he puts soo much passion and love into it.
Sadly,this is his last big concert before he had to announce that his insomnia had just wore him down too much,for him to still be a full on member for Nightwish,so for his own mental health he needed to take some time off,and trying to recover from it. It would take him some years to get back,but by then Nightwish`s will to wait for Jukka had turned into them replacing Jukka on drums with Kai Hahto (known as Wintersuns original drummer,and for many years Jukkas own drum technician in Nightwish,so they are great friends) Jukka blessed theyr decision,and became pretty much theyr administrative manager in many ways instead. But its heartbreaking to watch the short documentary where Jukka says after his announcement: "My heart belongs in that drummer seat!" On him wanting to come back,once he has sorted out the insomnia bothering him.
Like i said a few NW reactions ago,the more you get to know this band,the more you learn to love it and all of its members,as they really havent had an easy way to "fame and success". The prize has been high for many of them over the years,so just embrace Jukka on the drums while you can. Luckily this concert is a long one,so you got tons of good performances left!
And Kathy mentioning this concert as one that has to be good,i can sign under on that one. I have seen many legendary bands and solo artists perform live,alot of them have really good concerts. But ever since i saw Nightwish at Wacken Open Air 2013,i can honestly say that i have seen no other concert,that has the sound quality,picture quality,in other words production quality. And if thats not all,Floor and Markos vocal delievery is second to none,people have thought that they played back studio versions of each song,they were stunned about the flawless vocal sound live. Then there is Floors crowd interaction on her first ever concert as a permanent vocalist,she claims she was packed with nerves,but she didnt show it at any part during this hours long concert. Her stage presence,her dress,makeup .....everything is just on point! You try to search for flaws but you end up with nothing lol.
So i just went ahead and named this concert the best concert i have ever withnessed,and its not just because i have been listening to theyr music since the mid 90s and might be biased to the band. This is me,a guy with tons of legendary bands i love,tons of artists i love,a complete music geek that biasedly compares all the amazing,great concerts i have heard and seen. Nightwish at Wacken Open Air 2013 is with Floor Jansen at her prime,with plenty of energy and a wish to prove herself worthy for everyone in the crowd. And whats most eye catching is,notice the smiles on everyones faces. This band didnt always use to smile this much.
Its like Floors entry completed them all,and shaped Nightwish into the family they always wanted to be. The most touching story is when Floor was with them in 2012,helping them finish up theyr world tour in the US and Latin America. After just a short while Marko and Tuomas publicly said that just after a short while,they had a moment for themselfs without Floor,where they all just looked at eachother (remember,this is childhood friends knowing eachother inside out,these people went to school together) Everyone just nodded and were like: Shes the one!
They hadnt offered her anything with Nightwish at this point,but everyone just felt like she was everything they wanted into the band. For the whole story,i do recommend watching the documentary called "Please Learn The Setlist In 48 Hours". But wait until you have reacted to most of the Wacken Open Air 2013 concert,to avoid spoilers. You can chose to watch it on your own time,or do it as a reaction. I know some channels have watched it,but did a part 1 and part 2 of it as its pretty long. But afterwards,you will surely understand why Floor has so many petnames. The more you get to learn about her,the more baffled and stunned you get.
Everyone in this band is beyond talented,and are amongst the nicest people you can meet. Im gonna tell Emppu that Lulu fancies him"She loves your hair!"

I have seen people lose theyr minds over just how long they pushed eachother. And they made it look and sound so effortless!💪Floors lungs are just out of this world,i dont think i have ever heard her really close to what shes fully capable of. It always sounds like this is just what she does.

4:25, it's not called the windmill because she's Dutch. It's been the term for that since Heavy Metal in 1980's at least.

You should check out some of the songs from The Human:||:Nature album(unfortunately Marko's last album with them, he left the band in 2021) also check out their concerts in 2021-2023. Durning this time Floor was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, which she beat and is 100% healthy and had her secon child with her husband Hannes a little girl Named Lucy. If you really want a song that shows Marco's vocals try "The Islander" from their live show in Tampere, Finland and also "The Greatest Show on Earth" from the same concert.

The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast .

By the way, Wacken 2013 is considered by many, including me, to be the best concert ever recorded, any time, by any band.
Edit: If you think this show is high-energy, you haven't seen anything yet! I highly recommend checking out Unleash the Archers, a Canadian power and speed metal band with a vocalist that is just as talented as Floor Jansen: Brittney Slays. I recommend starting with the song Abyss, the title track from the album Abyss, which won the Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for 2020 Metal Album of the Year in Canada.

The entire Wacken concert is phenomenally good. In addition to "Ever Dream", which has great vocals from Marko (the bearded bass player), you need to check out "Dark Chest of Wonders", the number that they opened the concert with. They had 82,000 (-1) people rocking out within seconds of the opening notes. Most of the crowd had bought their tickets many months earlier, and had therefore paid to hear a different singer, but Floor won them over instantly.

The Wacken 2013 show was a magical moment in music history. Since it was recorded and put on the "Showtime, Storytime" DVD, we have that magic captured, like lightning in a bottle.
