  • I recorded this video a few months ago. Now that we’re almost to 100K subs, I think I’ll start vlogging more. This was my first video as I sat with the thought of having weight loss surgery.

    *Do your research my brotha♥Be in the know about everything because this is surgery. Surgery is serious. I've had 2 surgeries(not dealing with weight loss), you have to get your mind right. Pray on it once but get hyped about it...that's what I did. When I had to be at the hospital early in the A.M., I told my nurses and the surgeon...LET'S GET IT...LET'S GO!!.Be blessed with whatever choices you make. Much Love&Prayers.* ♥♥♥♥♥

    Thanks for sharing this. There are always naysayers who believe their opinion should be everyone's, but you know your body. I've gone through this with family members & a few friends. It's not "the easy way out" as some say, sometimes, it's the safest way. I'm in the process of getting approved and there is a lot of work involved. Again, thank you for being open/honest about this.

    I’m kind of done going through the process and my surgery is in about a week. I’m still waiting for the time of the surgery, but the evaluations are so stressful. But I don’t talk about them sometimes because I don’t feel like people can relate. I’ve been working on it for a year. Also, unless people genuinely understand WLS and/or have gone through it, they need to shut up. It’s not the easy way out. In fact, sometimes it’s the only way out. The nutritionist will make you on a 3-6 month diet before giving you approval. If your BMI is still over 40 and if you had a hard time losing that weight, they’ll let you have it. You don’t sit back and wait for it to happen. You have to work your ass off to get it. God knows I have. I’m proud of you, man.

    • @MrsVirgo0829

      Spoiled Rotten It does not cure it, no surgery cures anything. Surgery is a tool to help things. Also, no one said anything about food addiction. No matter how well I ate, I was still having issues with diabities which is hereditary.

      It's a tool to help. You still have to have and continue the lifestyle change.

    • @kimberly329
      @kimberly329 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tameka Johnson It's more than a tool. It's like giving someone a head start in a race by putting them a few feet in front of the finish line. The lifestyle discipline is forced by literally making the person sick from eating too much or the wrong things. Meanwhile the person that put in the hard work doesn't have that luxury. Do what works for you, but let's be honest changing your lifestyle on your own vs it being medically induced is tougher.

    • @MrsVirgo0829
      @MrsVirgo0829 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      kimberly329 Do you think we still don't have to put in that hard work? Im in the gym 3x a week and I walk 5x a week. Don't say it takes away from the hard work because it doesn't and we have to work harder in order to not gain it back; which it can. As Darius said it saved his life and it saved mine. With PCOS and Diabetes, my weight continued to rise no matter what measurements I took. It's a head start tool to get us to the finish line of being healthy.

    • @kimberly329
      @kimberly329 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tameka Johnson Did you hear me say you don't have to still put in hard work? NO. You did not. Are you given an edge and a serious head start? ABSOLUTELY!

      I'm shocked out of all the things I commented on you respond to this....anywho, them stating that is a means to put it in a class for treatment, which in return is more money in their pockets. Treating symptoms is big business, not actually looking at the root of the problem. Just my opinion. I love watching you and love your dishes. And thank you for sharing your story.
