Glad you're feeling better. This is where I am, after the initial cut and split, what to do next? I keep thinking about fabricating a smaller dedicated splitter with a Mini-wood sized 6 or 8 way box wedge. i usually just run them through a 4 way, again, but still have pieces too big for the smokers. I have a spare 3x12 cylinder, which should easily accomplish the task. Still pondering.
Hi Dan Happy to Here your Back in Action 🤠 and Ready to Split your Mini Firewood Splits 👍 It's Good you have to Different Machines ‼️ They Both Give Special Needs to Produce a Perfect Product ‼️ in the Woodyard 👍
Dan, nice looking Cherry for your Mini-Firewood. Those other pieces are good Boiler Wood. I am very Happy you are Feeling Better. I am not to bad, except that I had a little set back with my Right Shoulder. I did to much, because of the Nice Weather. Turning 72yrs on Monday, I have to definitely limit myself. I hope to see you Tomorrow night on Friday night Live. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
Most of the off cuts will actually probably end up in the sauna or fire pit...but the bigger chunks with rot will go to the boiler. Hope your shoulder heals up, those things can take awhile before getting back to full working order.
Glad you're feeling better 😊 There's a nasty cold going around here that starts with a headache for a couple days then nasal congestion and unproductive cough. Nice splitting 👍
Awesome process. You're doing fancy tricks with that machine. For the extra large, you could build a log cutting table like Sawing with Sandy did, or a roller table with a chainsaw hinged on a pipe at one end. Two ideas to dial in on the 5 1/2 inch pieces.
Glad you are feeling better! You are really getting a good process on making mini-firewood. Do they make a 6 or 8 way wedge for that machine? Do you think one of those would work for mini firewood production?
Thanks! Yeah I have both the 6 & 8 way wedge but got something planned for these bigger chunks that will work better than having them split into smaller pieces.
A tip to maybe reduce cleanup after using the Japa. put your tractor with the bucket on the side of the Japa so that the sawdust falls into the bucket. That way you only have to dump the sawdust where you want to dispose of it instead of cleaning up a pile of sawdust.
I wouldn't want my tractors paint job being sand blasted with sawdust, and he would soon have his radiator and screens full of dust on the tractor. He could just drop the bucket itself off on the ground and catch some of it, though.👍👍
If I ran more often I might park a bucket there, but it's in a bit of a low spot so that sawdust will just get spread around with a few quick passes with tractor once the pile is big enough.
hi there it is great that you feel better , now you better work on the looks , when you get my age it's to late , might think about trying the logs the length of the big bucket .lift them with the tractor not your back , best to all john
Hello? I mean, my lady friend, we're just wondering. We're watching a video and she popped a question. She was wondering how much are those totes for carry on the firewood and can they be purchased at a discounted price anywhere?
In a kiln to 140 degrees for 60 mins. Since it's a short run it's not long enough for actual 'drying' of the wood...far cheaper to use the sun to dry...lol
HEY, SHE GOT THE WAY TO MOVE ME, CHERRY... ( SHE GOT THE WAY TO GROOVE ME ) ( SHE GOT THE WAY TO MOVE ME ) CHERRY, BABY... ALL RIGHT... PEACE MY BROTHER...
Certainly glad you feeling better and real nice job with the 365!

The Japa makes it easy and fun...lol...and quick. The 3 things I like to think of when it comes to work....hahaha
The right equipment for the job.😉👍
That's the key for quick, easy, and 'fun' working in the woodyard.

Hi Dan That Japa 365 Is Very important to have in the Woodyard 👍
Glad you're feeling better 😊 There's a nasty cold going around here that starts with a headache for a couple days then nasal congestion and unproductive cough. Nice splitting 👍
That must've been what I had...although the strange thing is the last day was the worse of them all. Usually it's the other way around.

I've thought about the roller table with a saw mounted for cutting.
Have you sharpened the saw chain yet on the yapa? Glad the small firewood is splitting good for you with the yapa!
Glad you are feeling better!

Good Morning Dan, works well, glad your feeling better, Also keep an eye on Amanda she’s getting frisky 😂🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks...feeling much better! She's usually the one needing to keep an eye on me! Ha!
I am trying to get the old folks home where I live to allow smokeless fire pits.
I would love to sit around a fire.
If they have a nice size patio table they shouldn't have problem with one...they might not fully understand what one is or just how small they are.
Dan,would it be possible to get one tote of chunks inside the greenhouse for drying just saying 😮😊❤

I’ve got a large dead persimmon tree on the top 20, wish you was closer by, it’s gotta smell good.🇺🇸

I've had things covered in the looks department for years, no worries there. Every morning the mirror shows they keeping getting better and better! 🤣
@@Back40Firewood hi your mirror lies but you better keep it lol john
Eye protection when blowing out the splitter. We already have a One Eye Custom channel on TH-cam.
PS Dan Great Way to Clean Off the Wood Dust
I can see the efficiency with the Japa. Did I see - dare I say it? - BOILER WOOD at the end of those logs?
Bill
Not sure on the BW, but definitely SW...sauna wood...lol....the off cuts were shorter so think they'll get split for the sauna or fire pit.

How do you heat treat your firewood for out-of-state shipping?

Haha...ohh yeah Mr. Diamond! How did the AirBnB guests like their stay?
Could you get a big lathe and trim off the bark? Make for some good content. Seeing margins in mini wood is so good.
I've found the bark isn't as big of a deal as I originally thought about having bark-less splits.

I'm not sure what all your letters represent in your comments. 🤷♂️
Time for a vertical splitter!!!
