Burning wood is anything but free. I cut hauled and split 8 full cords of fire wood for 25 years. My hydraulic splitter was on its last legs at the end. I went through about 30 chainsaw chains and wore out several professional saws. Many gallons of gas and oil were consumed over 25 years. I lover the wood heat and hot water but it was anything but free
Don't forget all the costs necessary to, you know, have the trees to cut down. Even if you inherited the land, you still have to pay taxes on it, and that is anything but free.
Fired the wood stove last night for the first time this year…. To take the dampness out of the basement! Got a little warm upstairs in the middle of the night…but it felt good to feel that wood heat👍
You should turn that pool into a hot tub with that wood boiler going. Always enjoy watching these startup videos for some reason. Thanks for the therapy. Tis the season. We haven't started running the furnace or started a wood stove yet here in SW Ohio. It won't be long though still having highs around 70s, lows upper 40s-50s. early Oct.
I will be Starting my Woodstove up over the Weekend Dan. New Door Gasket, and Heat Resistant Glass. Went to Burn it about 3weeks ago and the Glass Cracked. Come to Find out is was Just a 1/4 inch piece of Plate Glass and not Heat Resistant. Try to get a Piece of it was the Hard Part, and cost was very High for a Piece that was only 10inches Long and 8 1/16th inch Wide. Same here for the next 8 months Have a Great Time at the Bunyan Show this Weekend, and maybe next year I can make it, hope so. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
I have it on the list to clean the chimney, mine stays pretty clean too, its a modern stove, no damper that I can control, but I want to be ready. Mine is a little cast iron stove with a window in the door so i can watch it burn from my shair.
Mornin' ( D ), it's gettin' colder here week by week. we've had a fire in the mornin a couple of times just to break the chill. It's funny how fast the weather & seasons change. One week you're burnin' up and next you're cold. I hit Daniel up on his thoughts on the champion, a few other folks suggested it to. the only thing is import taxes. Sucks they don't have distributors here. You can order one on AliExpress, but when all's said and done you end up payin' double the price... Well keep pushin on brother, stay cool... Peace...
It's like Christmas in October when we woodhounds start heating with wood! Probably have a couple of weeks before my first fire with my wood stove. BTW Da Bears and Packers are tied at 2-2 records. May not last lone with the crappy O-Line play we have. Take care.
Last week I lit my indoor Blaze King wood stove, I use the King stove for the shoulder months instead of my lp furnace. In a couple of weks I'll be starting up my outdoor boiler here in West Central Wisconsin.
Our weather has been beautiful lately, especially after a hot summer. I saw your tag on this, couldnt believe that it was already that time of year, I then checked my local weather and welp, lows around 38deg for the next few nights, kinda surprised me.
Not yet in southern Missouri. Getting cooler at night, but still reaching the 80’s in the daytime. New stove I’m anxious to try, a Regency F 5200. House is well insulated so 50’s at night don’t cool the house enough to fire up the stove.
I Don't start my boiler until mid Oct. but it is ready to go. Keep in mind at Bunyon we are under a burning ban in this area of Ohio.. See you at Bunyon
It surprises me that the circulator runs constantly. You should wire it so it turns on with the indoor blower. It would be a lot more efficient that way. You should also move the circulator inside so when it dies you don’t have to hike out side to fix it.
On average twice a day....but with how warm it's been the past few weeks I've only been throwing wood on once a day, or if I do fill up in the morning and evening I only put a few pieces on.
Hi Dan Great Video QQQ What do you think about having a Window in your Door That Way you don't have to Crack Open the Wood Master 4400 and let All your Heat out 👍
Won't be starting the wood stove(s) anytime soon. we've got a stretch of sun and mid to upper 70s in our 10-day forecast. In fact, it's been so humid, the AC is on, not so much to cool the house, but it's acting as a dehumidifier. 50% relative humidity inside, 90% outside. Looks like it could be Halloween before we do more than an evening wood stove fire to take the chill off.
Was looking in your online store and was wondering if you sell stickers? I recently retired and getting back into my woodshop and am trying to add stickers from the YT channels that I follow. Thanks.
It's not really "free" heat. You still have the electrical cost of the fan/pump at the boiler and the fan in the heater in the house. BUT, it's certainly a heck of a lot less expensive than either an all electric or gas forced air heater. Have a great day!
Hi Dan!!😀😀 I usually don't start our outside boiler until the night time temperatures get into the mid 20s. So long about the first week in November we will probably start ours. We usually like to keep the temperature at about 73 in the house. Take care my friend!!😀💚 Logger Al
It's not free. Your time and your equipment cost money. It's an investment to collect and cut the wood to split or you just pay for split cord wood. It's not free trust me I know.

As a friend once said: "Free firewood is a part time job."

Did that for 12 years but just too old now. But it was fun and the house and water was always hot . Have fun

Great update! Bristol, Uk, and I have had two Woodburner fires so far. One last day of September and another the night after :-)
Here in Sheboygan Wisconsin we have the windows open still and no heat on. Always enjoy your videos. Stay warm.
I always love the first fire of the season. We had the first one in the fireplace yesterday. Have heated with wood in an indoor furnace since 1981.

I don't have a wood stove but here in Ohio I just turned off our A/C. I'll see you Saturday.

I kept my OWB going through the summer to heat our hot water. I have plenty of wood and the extra hot water is nice!
I started my stove a week after fall burning punky crappy wood. Wood heat is awesome 😎 keep cuttin' brother!

Boiler season 😊 still only getting down to the low 50's at night here in NE PA, not heating season yet.
Always an exciting time
I don't burn wood, but I do need a new furnace filter. This is a good reminder! Still to warm in my neighborhood to turn on the heat.
Funny how it's fun to start for the year
Dan,and now starts the fun 🤩 season fall 🍁,then winter 🥶 😮😊❤

The OWB is what brought me to your channel originally
I’ve kept mine going over the summer to heat our water but the heat has been kicking on in the mornings
I burn my wood stove for 5 1/2-6 months per year. Just waiting for the lows to hit the 30s in NE Kansas.
I usually startup my stoves around mid-October and they both run almost nonstop until May 1. Central NC.
Great video 👍🏻🇺🇸

In Ontario we still have our A/C running.
I started my central boiler 10 years ago and it has never gone out use it in warm weather for domestic hot water
Southwest Montana here. Haven't started the wood stove yet and looks like it will be awhile according to the weather forecast.
37 degrees here just south of Seattle. My pellet stove will be kicking on this weekend..
It is October 20th in Toronto Canada and as yet we have not needed the heat on yet. Today was 68 degrees not cold enough yet. Sweaters in the evening.
See you Saturday
Still running the AC in Florida for the next 3 months
