It doesn't matter when they said it the last few months. The players wanted Justin on the team leading them and the Bears got rid of him anyway. That pissed off the players and went straight to social media to say they did Justin wrong and that they were pissed. You take an already broken locker room and put in a diva with a massive ego and it won't end well. They want to win and don't want any distractions, the players already have had enough distractions they don't want more.

It is a problem. You got a guy with a massive ego coming in and the players don't want that distraction. They loved Fields and didn't want him to go, but the Bears got rid of him anyway and that lost players in the locker room. They want to win not be a traveling 3 ring circus.

He put his head down and worked and never once complained about it plus he had already been established as the leader in the locker room and most players supported him. Everyone is not even touching the matter of Caleb Williams 's lack of strong leadership even during defeat. Williams crying in his mother's arms for at least 5 minutes was bad enough, but not wanting to answer questions at the post-game press conference was not the actions your team and organization expect to see. The lack of stoic leadership among men is an issue that is not being ignored by men who are playing the NFL game, wanting to win.
