@@noxmore I believe before 1.20.4 or 1.21 where they resprited gui section the Minceraft easter egg was hardcoded so you couldn't change it, but I might be wrong.

An easter egg is an intentional secret, not a pixel accidentally colored wrong.
@ZoofyZoof this single pixel placed randomly within the menu is miscolored so minuitely that its imperceptible to the human eye. There is no way someone did that on accident.
To be fair I'd 100% put weird pixels in my textures that nobody would notice. That sounds like way too much fun

It's entirely possible subtle things like this are INTENDED so that they can show simple image proof that some other game copied assets. The phrase usually goes something like this "They copied everything, including the bugs"

@@rya12i Old mapmakers added nonexistent streets (usually alleyways so it didn't actually impact navigation) to their maps essentially in order to protect their work, copyright style. If another mapmaker's maps also have that alley, its easy to prove they were cheating/copying your maps since the alley doesn't actually exist anywhere except in your work.
i think it would already be pretty obvious if someone ripped assets from minecraft, the best selling game of all time. if this was the case every single texture would have a miscolored pixel
Considering how many texture packs have been made that just recolour the base UI, I'm genuinely astounded that this went unnoticed for so long lmao
because anyone using software more advanced than MS paint will likely have their fill tool set up so it colours pixels similar to the targe colour, not necessarily the exact same. it just makes a lot of things simpler

@@energeticcreeper7969when dealing with limited colour palette, usually in pixel art, it is generally not recommended to have tolerances on your magic wand or bucket tool, it can be more trouble than help.
It is likely that many people have found that pixel over the years, and it just was never made viral.

If I found it while editing the texture, I would probably assume it was my own mistake lol

IIRC Minecraft uses indexed PNGs, which means that the addition of an unnecessary color to the palette drastically increases the palette's file size /s
theres actually 2 more. in the grindstone gui there a #8C8C8C at the grindstone slot corners (shouldve been #8B8B8B), and in the brewing stand theres a #000000 on the coil shadow (shouldve been #373737)

This is most likely for copyright issues, so Mojang can detect if a Minecraft clone has copied Mojang's original textures.
It's like how atlas makers put a few fake streets on their maps so that if another publisher were to copy their work the original owner could immediately tell. Canary in a coal mine sort of thing.

2:52 it could be to specify where the crafting inventory position would be at for a easier calculation of where you would make the crafting table as it is close to that area and so the color is just slightly different enough that it uses that as a bases of code or something

This wont work for the exact reason this was probably found. You can change it with a texture pack. And putting 2 numbers in code is way better than pixel analysing, so niolink definitely has a point.

it IS perceptible that c5c5c5 (the deltarune-style stray pixel) is a little bit darker than the rest, but you won't really notice it playing normally since it's very small and it blends perfectly, if someone did then that's impressive.

It's probably a locator for placing a new inventory slot or feature. Imperceptibly different, but noticable in software. In the event it weren't removed, the gamer wouldn't notice.

The pixel at the firework just adds something. It is not just 2 colors, it is in perfect spot to add SOMETHING. Some lighting, some flair, it is not just bland 2 colors together. It is nicer than only 2 colors.
The explanation is that they didn't use the eyedropper tool. They looked away, and instead of that, they clicked the wheel, and clicked around where they thought they were. That out the typed it in. Use the eyedropper

When i'm in a competition of "see the color difference" and my opponent is a minecraft player:
they need to make the inventory bigger by at least a couple slots because managing my inventory early game is crazy
make a bundle, it's now just a single regular leather and a string above it

I'm convinced the people who find these either have no life or are texture pack makers using the bucket tool on Minecraft's textures
Much like the pixel on the (hurk) TikTok cape, I think this is entirely intentional. It's likely a Paper Town, a flaw, error, or otherwise hard to notice 'problem' that would be difficult to randomly recreate, but easy to copy without noticing. Real-world mapmakers would add fake towns, or towns that only exist on paper (or roads, etc) to their maps to be able to catch if some other company/mapmaker was copying their map and then sue them for copyright infringement.
Having barely noticeable or even unnoticeable bit-level differences in the Minecraft textures would make it insanely easy for Mojang/Microsoft to identify if someone was copying their textures without permission.
When it was outlined, I could clearly see that it was just a smidge darker than its surrounding pixels
theres no WAY Mojang isn't doing this on purpose so that peenix can make more videos about their game. (free advertisement)

This is just a guess but it looks to be in the place of the survival mode 2x2 crafting grid. It might have been a line-up tool for the devs that got left in.

BUT as a minecraft skin creator i can tell that there is a color difference between c6c6c6 and c5c5c5
But with indirect hue shading (like that what's the difference between the shapes where one of them has a black outline which makes the color in it darker than it is) it's nay impossible to tell.
Anyway this is one of those facts that i will never forget and tell my friends! ;)

C5C5C5 is basically 197/197/197
when the RGB number is the same it usually means Black(0) to Grey(125) to White(255), so in this instant it's basically a Darker Grey.

At least it’s unnoticeable and can be easily fixed by editing the texture ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Minecraft has 300 million copy’s sold. This means that 3.75 percent of the population only has played Minecraft. There is a very good chance that over 20 percent of the population hasn’t even heard of the game.
I bet what the stray pixel is from is when they re-used the survival inventory they got rid of the crafting grid, and that pixel just happened to slip through the cracks meaning the vestigial texture for the crafting grid lives on in the creative inventory.
This bugs me far less than the fact the hotbar is missing a whole row of pixels in java edition, yet they fixed it in bedrock.
