How many watts are these? I'm concerned about the bulbs heating and causing damage to the housing, as is seen with other higher than factory wattage bulbs.
The page says 30 watts per bulb, and I imagine some of that goes into powering the cooling fan. I may do a heat test at some point with stock bulbs, these, and the color switching ones I got more recently.
I've got my housings out now because I just restored them. Thinking about getting these as an upgrade over the stock before I put the housing back in. Would be curious if you could do a heat test to see if the housing get significantly warmer
Definitely didn’t have to take the freakin housing off to do this 😂you realize you could’ve just gotten underneath the car and take them out from the back 😂
Indeed! I would have done it that way if I wasn't recording a video showing how to do it. Makes for much more well-lit footage so when someone does go in from underneath, they have a better idea of what's in there.
Interesting, it appears they changed their name or got bought by someone. I'll have to investigate and see what's going on. Looks like the same stuff, though.
@@CarsSimplified Thanks sir. also are you running you lights in auto or manual settings? Did you make the change to LED headlights? I've heard you can have some issues if you run in Auto because of the voltage drop.
I'll have to try that out! I always switch lights on and off manually. I haven't converted the headlights to LED yet, I haven't decided how to handle the cover situation yet. I might 3D print something.
Led ftw
Looks great!

Just ordered some. The name for the company on the link is different however.

@@CarsSimplified still has the same option so I will give them a try on my 2004 gto
the bulb link don't take me to a 9040 bulb any advice
The bulb I used wasn't a 9040 either. The 9040 designation is mostly for a filament alignment, which isn't part of an LED bulb.
@@CarsSimplified So which bulb is it? You sent us to a page with 4 choices?
Ah, now I see the problem. That was different when I first posted the link. It is a 9006/HB4, apologies for the confusion.

No way these LEDs will survive wet and moisture from roads being couple inches over road.
They have a seal
