With all of the hate in these comments, people are forgetting how we worship the great muscle cars when they're gone. people will be praising it one day when we all have autonomous cars. Im no Chrysler fan, but I'm glad they're making this.
Brad Conklin TC, LC, ABS, 10 spd automatics man nah they're killing the scene where no one wants to improve on their individual skills outside of launch on a drag strip... Won't be long till you can't even buy a manual.. damn shame really
I'm sorry but Ford does have an 8 second factory Mustang called the Cobra Jet AND it has a roll cage (cough cough Demon), it's not road legal but can be with aftermarket modifications. Soooo, I don't want to hate, congrats to Dodge on the Demon but if you roll up at the strip and a Cobra Jet Mustang or a Copo Camaro pulls up next to you prepare to be absolutely dicked.
Daily driven dry only and with those sticky tires made purely for this pos to get to 60 fastest means changing your $2000.00 + set of tires every 5000 miles if you are lucky. Time will tell. Oh, and you may have to turn at some point as well on your daily drive.
youngsoldier93 the same douchebags hating it in this video will be the same ones watching a Lamborghini video and commenting how the demon will "destroy" it. They have nothing better to do than to complain.
youngsoldier93 no one talks about these cars are on race gas and the tesla and demon have lots of flaws .... tesla no top end can get beat on the highway with a civic type r hellcat can't race on a track you get banned ... and can't take turns make a real fast car please stop cutting corners 0/60 quater mile covers and top end BOTH ARE HALF AS SUPER CARS PERIOD
youngsoldier93 because people are partisan just like in their politics and their sports teams once they get locked into something they have blinders on they can't look at things for what they are the Democrats are the worst
Henry Ovalles they're going back to it's roots dude, these cars are the new versions of their older counter parts which they were focused on going fast in a straight line - if they couldn't turn then they wouldn't be street legal - this is a drag car, not a circuit car. SRT has the Viper for circuits.
It would even be more insane if the next generation Viper had the same engine with dry sump probably. It might do 2.0 seconds or under, setting another record.
Not a fan boy, just here to point out lies that Dodge has claimed. Tesla Model S P100D 0-60: 2.28s. That's .02s faster than the Demon. Is anyone realistically gonna notice that? No. Oh, and another lie? Koenigsegg V8 BHP: 1,341. Hennessey Venom GT V8 BHP: 1,200. Had Dodge said, "The most powerful production supercharged V8." They would not have been lying. Both of the aforementioned engines are twin-turbocharged. But, they did not say this. So, you sir, just got destroyed by facts that were supported by evidence, from someone who isn't the person you're calling out. Have a nice day.
Matrix the Koenigsegg isn't a production car since most of them are banned in the US. Also the Tesla isn't an orthodox car since it's purely electric; you're comparing Apple's to oranges. Common sense would say electric obviously responds faster than fuel... Your sir have just been destroyed by facts.
+Barry McKockinner Ugh. "Koenigsegg isn't a production car since most of them are banned in the US." This is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Honestly. Just because something is banned somewhere doesn't mean it's not a production vehicle. The Demon is banned from the NHRA, does that make it not a production car? The Toyota Supra (1994) is banned in the US, and it was a production car. The S15 is illegal in the US, it was a production car. Still not convinced? The Ford Falcon (2016) is banned in the US, and it is a production vehicle. Now to your second point: You say that a Tesla or really any electric car would have a better acceleration time. But let me refute that point real quick. Chevy Bolt EV 0-60: 6.5s Chevrolet Corvette Z07 0-60: 3.2s More? Tesla Model S 85 0-60: 6.2s Audi RS7 0-60: 3.2s It is still a fair comparison. Dodge said that they have built the fastest car to 60mph out there. They never said that doesn't include electric cars. Therefore, if Dodge was not lying, then the Demon would have to have beaten a 0-60 time of 2.28s. But, they never said that their standards don't include electric cars. So, therefore, they are lying. So, you are just trying to make false arguments against my true arguments. Please, sir, save yourself the time and don't try and debate someone who debates for a living. Have a nice day.
+Tank Dempsey I'm sorry, but your grammar was so poor I'm having a tough time understanding what you're saying. I believe what your reply should have been was, "Matrix We're talking production cars, here. The One:1 isn't a production car, nor is the Hennessey Venom GT. But, the Porsche 918 Spyder is a production car with a V8, and produces 900+BHP." Is this what you are trying to say? If so, let me refute this point. The One:1 is a production car, as you can buy one from Koenigsegg, (or could, rather) and it isn't something that was just a false promise. The Hennessey Venom GT, producing somewhere around 1,200+BHP, is also a production car, as you can buy a Hennessey Venom GT from Hennessey. (or, once again, could.) It isn't an add-on to a Corvette, or a Lotus, or something like that. (although it does use a Lotus platform, it isn't a Lotus.) It was made entirely (except for the chassis design) by Hennessey. It was produced. It was sold. It is, therefore, a production car. Have a nice day.
I love how all the people in comment section are talking all this shit. It's really showing how salty they are about how this car will be able spank half of their dream rides. And don't bring up corners. Because the only corner half you guys ever see is the one at the back of the class room you usually sit at.
krocialblack People talk shit because their sick of people like you overglorify them. It's a dumpster with a big engine, designed to do one thing. True car people don't car about numbers or claims Dodge makes.
zomski101 no one is over glorifying it "a dumpster with a big engine" just stupid man just like all are American classic cars right because they have the same bug dumpster big engine theme you got going?
Actually, if you read into all the documentation that's available, it also can pull .98 in the skid pad... That's beyond decent with all of the drag related parts installed. Also, the wide body Hellcat, it also boasts the same numbers with larger rims, different tires and firmer suspension. SO, the Demon actually is the true all around sports/muscle car. I'm no Dodge fan either, but "respect".
Elias Dimopoulos skidpad numbers don't tell the whole story, I was at a track day at COTA recently in the yellow group, and there was a hellcat there (.94 g around the skidpad) which still got a big trail of cars built up in the twisty bits, he was so slow through the turns that he still had to lift in the straightaways to let people by. There are a few reasons for this, skidpad tests typically find sustained g forces rather than max g forces, my car doesn't get 1.1 g on the skidpad on stock P Zeros but it was still able to carry that much through the turns, this is where balance and steering with the throttle really come into play. Iirc, the hellcat looked like it understeered and took a long time to take a set through turns
Not to mentioned, less than 1% of performance cars will ever see a road course. 100% will see the street. All of the handling in the world will not save you from a Hellcat or Demon when the light turns green.
Mr Bob a lot of people seem to be missing the point... the Demon is a production car, Dodge didn't set out to make the fastest individual "street car."
So, I just bought this month(July 8th) of 2023, a 2021 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 392 Widebody T/A edition in Gold Rush with the 6-speed manual Tremec. It only had 3,000 miles on it and I am very, very happy with it. The previous owner did a stripe delete(no T/A stripe)and a spare tire delete for the Harmon Kardon system and also added an AWE Track Edition cat back exhaust. So now my car is pushing 500hp and 487ft lbs of torque. It is not my daily driver, but I could daily drive this car and it would be perfectly happy. I do occasionally run it on empty back roads to exercise its muscle and the 305/35 R20's hooked up to an adaptive suspension. But all that being said, It would be a shame to buy the Demon and not use it for what it was designed for, which is drag racing. Dodge put all that engineering into it to make it the ultimate Muscle Car. That term, "Muscle Car" is no longer used today, but thanks to Dodge it is alive and kicking. But as I am writing this things are changing, and Dodge has succumbed to the left wing kooks and their demands for fuel efficiency and ev's. Hold on to your Hemi V8 and Supercharged Chargers and Challengers and get ready to start listening to Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence."
Dodge's line up is really looking good. They're the most exciting brand out there at the moment. I'm not loyal to any brand or childish "U.S. VS import" B.S. A real automotive enthusiast can appreciate what they did here. A 9 sec 4 passenger car with Bluetooth and A.C.. lol...I'd rock this in a heartbeat!
21 S3ß0 do you not get that this is the essence of old school muscle??? Its supposed to be like old school. Back then American muscle was the fastest cars in the world, and back then it didn't have rivalry. It was all about heavy, fast cars. A heavy, steel body, A really big V8 engine, and was made for straight line speed. You people are ruining car culture
If it can't turn, it can't run away. Unluck fruity little sporters. That's the essence of American muscle cars. But of course, this idea that these cars can't turn is just plain stupid. You don't want to be laying on 770 torque ft in a hairpin, but for daily road driving -- going by my Hellcat -- it will handle extremely well. And I'm over 840 torque and 900 rwhp. Drive my kids to school in it every day if the weather is okay for the tires.
There complaining that dodge the one manufacture that Was bought out by fiat can produce a car that will whoop a Modified corvette like child’s play. From the factory for roughly the same price. With more horsepower. Then the idiots that bring Hennessy into it saying the exorcist will beat the demon then us dodge guys respond, saying the demon will take an exorcist, from the factory too. Lmao
As a huge JDM fan, I really hope no one pulls the old "it can't take a corner" bs. This is American Muscle. This is a well constructed and well thought out drag car. Honestly, I've seen numerous memes dogging this car, but Dodge/Chrysler has really done this car right. Extremely impressive. It makes me feel great to see a serious driver-oriented muscle car by Dodge.
The new Tesla Roadster announced yesterday... 🤯 0-60 in 1.9 seconds 8.9 seconds quarter mile And we have a new king for the world’s fastest production car ⚡️
Corvette Stingray and Hellcat owner here. While I initially had myself put on the Demon waiting list I later changed my mind. The Hellcat is truly impressive with relentless power but I personally prefer the nimble Corvette. Next up, a Z06
This car 30 years from now will be like the old muscle cars we cherish today from 30 years ago. I promise you these cars will become collectors to American car enthuasts in the future. I love they keep bring back the old look with new modern upgrades.
The Challenger is just cooler than Mustang and Camaro. I like both of them. I've owned a Mustang. I've taken some Camaros on test drives. In most situations, dynamically, around a track, real world maneuverability, the Camaro and the Mustang are better. The Challenger is still just a cooler car. This particular one is faster in a straight line. Go to any car show and see the rows of Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers. The row of Challengers has a lot more people taking pictures. And before you reply, think about the next steps above a Camaro or Mustang. Eventually you get to motorcycles. Those are faster, they cost less, they would beat a Camaro around a track, why don't you get a motorcycle?
Texarmageddon tbh same lol. As far as I've seen it doesn't look like there's a lot you can do to Challengers cosmetically. All the challengers I have seen at cars and Coffee look stock. Mustangs and Camaros are always different and unique cosmetically. Besides, I've seen people take pics of my dads mustang (the mustang in my profile pic) and it's been recorded in cars and Coffee pics. That's just my 2 cents. I'll leave now.
I've been to a lot of car shows and I'm not seeing what you claim. They seriously need to turn some designers loose on this tired old design. They've certainly got the performance thing figured out. If they could just move forward design-wise.
Dodge was American at the likes of Ford and Chevrolet by the Chrysler motor company but the percentage of Chrysler is owned by Fiat which in turn is owned by the Volkswagen group So really it's still Daimler Chrysler
this demon is one hell of a car. you know what they say if you don't have haters that means you're not doing nothing right. haters hate on success and to me this car here is success at it's finest.👍 😈👍
2kwik, the car they are in for the interview has a cage. It's clearly visible in the video. No need for a cage if you run in the 9's. You can do it once, and then you are done for the day. So, let's see it do it at least once versus just producing a time slip. Please link to one of these making a timed run.
blackericdenice I don't think so, since this car was entirly build for the drag strip. I think they made the first gear exactly how it has to be in order to work with the Trans Break and everything. But maybe if you're not in Drag mode, it really starts in second in order to get higher MPG. Just my theory ^^
I have been reading many posts on this video. Funny thing is, that many people posting evidently have not seen the video or listened to it. Maybe they watched it with their eyes closed and their ears stopped up. For example, the subject of "roll out." The Demon was timed WITHOUT rollout @ 2.3 and WITH rollout @ 2.1. There are other things, but I won't mention them.
I think he said the engine is supercharged, my kind of engine choice. Best damn engine out there. They can keep their turbos unless they have an electric compressor that will boost immediate torque without lag. Then they could give some competition if coupled with enough torque and horsepower. But my money is still on the supercharger, regardless. Good video and explained engine performance concepts and implementation.
I agree, and not to be too much of a smartass but I don't think you need to be told this thing has a supercharger 😂, it's practically screaming! I don't know enough to actually back this up but I've read quite a bit on performance forums that these dodge engines don't get as much benefit from a turbo as they would a supercharger, at least in regards to what is actually worth doing. I'm not part of that world though so it could be more nuanced.
Haters can be standing in a pile of shit, and still try to convince you that they know it all? And have done it all in every aspect of Racing. When in reality the only time they have set was 4 hour's in bumper to bumper traffic in some cheap Cheese import car that there still making payments on and owe more than it's worth. But they will always talk shit and put something down that they can never afford. The only fast car they ever had was in a magazine wet dream.
It ran the times in very cold air, temps were in the 30's F. Very highly prepped track, and 840 hp on race gas, far higher than just simple high octane. 104-110 octane to be exact, according to an SRT Engineer.
ant sz it doesn't matter about cost, its the fanbase that kills it. Like seriously, they always ruin things...and the new camaro and mustang that are coming out are more like track cars, not straight line speed cars. And yes its heavy, but that's how it was supposed to be. Back then, all muscle cars were ALL ABOUT heavy V8 engines, heavy body, and was just for straight line speed.
so guys after some research the demon is the fastest 0-60 you may say oh the teslas faster yes with a term called rollout even the manufacturer even says 2.4 the 2.28 was an independent time so there's my case!
Factory claims mean nothing anymore considering the times on the Demon are wrong. For all we know the 0-60 is over 2.28 seconds.... Musk him self posted that its capable of 0-60 in 2.3 with Ludicrous+ and then you have the 918 which does 0-60 in a claimed 2.4? but its hold the world record for the quickest acceleration of 2.1-2.2
I have a friend that works at Milan dragway in Michigan. And the car will not pass tech without a cage. So I hope you have access to a private strip or have another 6k for a cage. Sorry it just annoys me that no Chrysler employee will address this issue. Yet it is going to be a serious issue for any owner of a demon. Don't like the sound of it just don't talk about it I guess.
Chrysler won't put a cage in for a couple reasons: 1) It's a street car. Roll cage on a street car isn't fun, imagine the liability if they had someone out there with no helmet on smacking their heads. Yeah... 2) Crash testing. A roll cage would completely change the crash dynamics, and require far more testing and certification...expenses probably not needed for an (apparent) 3,300-unit production. 3) The odds of those 3,300 cars seeing heavy track usage are slim, extremely so. It's possible most will see at least some track action, but just not that often...track-regular Demons will be the exception, NOT the tule. And it ain't $6k for a cage. WAY less than that, and if you're shelling out $85k for a car, another ~$25-3000 is chump change.
the reason they claim for not putting in a cage is the car would have to be re certified in crash testing. Extending release time. Also, the NHRA rules are not set in stone. They have in the past been updated to meet modern cars. The NHRA rules will change to allow the Demon and other cars like it to run. There are many 1/4 and 1/8 tracks that are not NHRA related. They are independent. What is funny is most the haters had no idea there was speed limit on drag car racing, or even NHRA. But once they found the Demon is too fast, and yeda, yeda,,, they use this as a way to hate. But it is such a minor issue..
BigBadDodge4x4 I feel ya somewhat. I've been hanging out at the track since I was a kid without a car. I'm just saying, the car is advertised as go to any track and have fun with a warranty. The car comes with drag radials for Christ sake. My problem is them avoiding the subject and not putting in a cage. Start the job just finish it right. If you want a street car buy a hellcat. Just my opinion. Props to Chrysler for the 800+ hp build though. I just got out of a '17 challenger r/t. Love the new exhaust on the '17. Finally some rumble out of the 5.7.
God I want one of these so bad. I followed this from the first commercial until the release. I was at a cruise in in North Carolina when this car was unveiled by Dodge. This car is a once in a lifetime cars. I want one so bad. It would be kept in a Temperature controlled garage and NOBODY would touch it except me, If I had one of course.
Acceleration times are kind of subjective because websites say the porsche 918 does it in 2.2 and others say it's around 2.7. Also a lot of cars acceleration time isn't it's launch time. Like the huracan 3.2 opposed to 2.5 launch.
Take any car listed in the top 100 Nurburgring times and see if any owners have ever matched the times. Don't see people complaining about that though.
thanks fore nowing things about cars man ...it makes me happy -))) yes sweden produsing higher horsepower but as you saying in a little 5.0 litres -(((( against 9.0 litres ..thats an big diffrent in torch.... and making possible to turning it upp further
Dodge's claim is the highest horsepower of any mass production car .... Koenigsegg engines are hand built low volume motors, and RATHER expensive. This Dodge engine is the most powerful V8 that is in mass production, the biggest bang for the buck!
Brad Conklin your right on! I also am not big on Chrysler but it is so refreshing to see a good ol american performance car instead of all the rice cans that sound like overgrown weed wackers!
Gazooo29: boosting a Hellcat is a compromise ... unless you also modify the suspension, re-flash the computer for front wheel lifting launch control , and put on the same grippy tires ... the Demon suspension is designed to transfer ALL the weight to the rear tires, while the computer controls the launch mode to produce a controllable front wheel lift weight transfer to the rear.
Koenigsegg(s) is/are not production cars hence why they doesnt count. Its a special order and most arent legal in the USA the ones that are generally the older CCX models.
Now that is badass, and an awesome display of power to the ground. Dodge has singlehandedly brought back the excitement of the muscle car era, but to a whole new level altogether. First with the Hellcat, and now this devious Demon. In addition to those two, last year ACR Viper set 13 major track records and that is more than any car in automotive history. So now Mopar is #1 and rules the blacktop, period.
How cute! Dodge managed to propel their $80,000 shitbox down the track at what a 17 year old kid can do with $10,000 in a Mustang from the '90's. Whatever....
Yeah, I admit I worded it poorly. What I meant was that it could quarter in a similar time as a crappy Mustang with $10.000 dumped into it. Of course said Mustang would not be a new car, won't be able to corner, have inferior crash protection, and no warranty. I wasn't trying to sound so salty. I blame the vodka...
If the engine blows up, you can’t take it to the dealership like the Demon can for free. So, paying cheaper is a RISK and as the adage goes, “You get what you pay for.”
It would be interesting to see how other cars would compare with the same tyres. Since traction is usually hugely significant issue with drag runs. I wonder how does it handle on normal roads?
Matt Millar Tesla fanboys bragging on a nonexistent car. When customers actually take delivery we’ll see what it is. Not saying it won’t hit their performance goals. But they also gave dodge two years and a number to aim for.
The Punisher I beg to differ. I've driven both, you have not and as soon as I pay off my Subaru I'm lifting it, tuning it and supercharging it, making it even more better than the Jeep I previously owned. Not to mention the fact that Subaru is more reliable. Again have fun with your lemon.
Chris Kennedy "Production car" doesn't mean "bought from a dealer". Cars have to meet a certain amount of cars made or something like that to officially be a production car.
This is a car that comes out of the factory running under 10 seconds. It's amazing. All those hyper modded Subarus will break every day and can't be driven like a regular car everyday if you want. It's so amazing that USA got its mojo back and there's such amazing cars being produced nowadays.
Move aside, Dodge. The Tesla Roadster 2 hits 60 MPH in 1.9 seconds, has a top speed of over 250 MPH and finishes the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds. Also, Tesla plans to make a hell of a lot more than just 50 of these, making it a true production vehicle.
Move aside hyped fanboy, All CLAIMED numbersof a vehicle that would be PLANNED to go into production by 2020 (which will probably be delayed), by then there would be faster cars already.
I love the dodge douches "you're only hating, cause you can't afford it", " dodge rules the world", "Demon, Demon come to me, so I can suck your sick"... Lol Dodge fanboys. So it's quick in a straight line, oooh. By that guys own admission THAT demon that did all those "WORLD RECORDS" Special tires, high octane gas, computer manipulated...Congrats Dodge, you've made a car that guys will buy, and spend the rest of their lives trying to recreate those records, and getting spanked by anything above a Honda Civic should they take it to a road track. And let's be honest it looks common, keep the Viper, least it is unique, they should have developed the Viper into this beast, not the common, found in EVERY parking lot Challenger, I can see the fake Demon stickers going on Challengers everywhere, and guys saying "nope it's not a real demon, it's just a v6, but Damn boy look at them stickers" lmao
Well, your comment then begs the question: "Ok, so WHY are you hating?" I'm a hard-core Chevy guy, but I gotta give props where props are due. This is an amazing car - no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
William Stewart I agree. I don't think it could be possible since the Ford GT has the Ecoboost V6 and only makes 650hp. Keep in mind that car the holy grail of the company and costs 450k. So, they'd probably have to switch to V8 if they want to make that sort of power with the GT500
Edxander Perez Well it's either they shoot themselves in the foot and go with the V8 or be realistic and build a proper GT500 that has say 600 something horsepower and focus on making the car a jack of all trades like the ZL1.
William Stewart 780 horsepower sounds ridiculous to me. I agree about having a realistic 600 something horsepower car and using that Ecoboost V6 which is more economical and practical than a huge V8
Thank you Dodge, from the bottom of my heart, for making the last true American Muscle car. Please don't ever quit.
You right tell them that demon are not slow
From the UK but absolutely love these cars.
@@TH-camc182 the bad thing about the demon is that its impossible to launch perfectly on a normal road
Did I ask
Mclaren is still king
Just scroll back up. Nothing but a dumpster fire down here.
You are correct
Thanks I was about start going through
lilman227 thanks
I’ll take my chances
it’s crazy that even with the aerodynamics of a brick it’s still the fastest production car
With all of the hate in these comments, people are forgetting how we worship the great muscle cars when they're gone. people will be praising it one day when we all have autonomous cars. Im no Chrysler fan, but I'm glad they're making this.
Brad Conklin yeah I'm going to praise the car that's paving the way for autonomous cars.. I think not
Texarmageddon_ what?
Ethan Boyle how?
I have been loosing weight to get a better 1/4 mi time
Sky1 ok...
Lmfao
i have disemboweled myself for extra horsepower guys
It's funny how many automotive engineers and millionaires there are in the comment section
Number1HeatRocka You don’t have to be a millionaire to afford this $85K car, unlike the slower overpriced ones.
Tesla: Hold my battery
Roadster 2.0 Is STILL not in production after 3 years
Wdym? The Tesla can’t even beat the redeye in the 1/4
It cant "hold their battery"
Tesla fanboy I take it? Y'all have the worst reputation in the auto world..lmao!!!
Hold it because it overheated probably
Truly amazing effort from Dodge to bring this to market. I wish I could buy a couple. One to play with and one to store for the future.
There won’t be gas in the future, better open an oil refinery
This is what you call a true legendary muscle car that can be daily driven
Joshua Abendrox uhh no.
Lmao when you have all the tires, mode, and setup required to hit these numbers its not even close to street legal
Daily driven dry only and with those sticky tires made purely for this pos to get to 60 fastest means changing your $2000.00 + set of tires every 5000 miles if you are lucky. Time will tell. Oh, and you may have to turn at some point as well on your daily drive.
sean rakers there's something called having a set of different rims with suitable tires and it's perfect for daily driving
Joshua Abendrox cause no one gets tired of constantly changing tires?
The amount of hate in this video is just ridiculous.
youngsoldier93 the same douchebags hating it in this video will be the same ones watching a Lamborghini video and commenting how the demon will "destroy" it. They have nothing better to do than to complain.
youngsoldier93 no one talks about these cars are on race gas and the tesla and demon have lots of flaws .... tesla no top end can get beat on the highway with a civic type r
hellcat can't race on a track you get banned ... and can't take turns make a real fast car please stop cutting corners 0/60 quater mile covers and top end BOTH ARE HALF AS SUPER CARS PERIOD
youngsoldier93 Mopar or no car!!!
youngsoldier93 because people are partisan just like in their politics and their sports teams once they get locked into something they have blinders on they can't look at things for what they are the Democrats are the worst
Henry Ovalles they're going back to it's roots dude, these cars are the new versions of their older counter parts which they were focused on going fast in a straight line - if they couldn't turn then they wouldn't be street legal - this is a drag car, not a circuit car. SRT has the Viper for circuits.
Sweet, looking forward to the next video. Good job guys.
i wanna see this drag racing against a Porsche 918 or Koenigsegg Regera/Agera 1:1 in street setting...
Peter Lustig Yea million dollars hyper cars against a 100k American muscle car. Nice work buddy
2:36 Wtf was that burnout 😂
A good ass burnout
Future owners. Enjoy your ride. I installed your glove box.
Dodge is insane... and I love it!!!! Hahaha
brezato : before I had a dodge really for real
brezato love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😗😘😙😚😌
brezato but now don't have a dodge car i have a Ford figo car
It would even be more insane if the next generation Viper had the same engine with dry sump probably. It might do 2.0 seconds or under, setting another record.
9:38 sorry what was that? I couldn't hear you over that violin in the engine
before you get mad, I know that's the supercharger 😂
Gets me hard as a rock
You like Roman that much?
davidrivas305 his luscious hair 😍
davidrivas305 yes, I love me a touch of grey 😍
Same
It’s a dodge not a Chevy
I don't know what's worse, Tesla fanboys or GTR fanboys.
Kevin Kalar Demon fanboys are the worst
Kevin Kalar tesla
Kevin Kalar Honda fanboys
Juan I thought Honda fanboys are 70+ years old
both. and Subaru fanboys.
Tesla fanboys incoming
Matrix production car the One:1 isn't a production car or the Hennessy Venom the Porsche 918 Sypder has +900 BHP is a production car with a V8
+Barry McKockinner
Ugh. "Koenigsegg isn't a production car since most of them are banned in the US."
This is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Now to your second point:
You say that a Tesla or really any electric car would have a better acceleration time. But let me refute that point real quick.
Chevy Bolt EV 0-60: 6.5s
Chevrolet Corvette Z07 0-60: 3.2s
More?
Tesla Model S 85 0-60: 6.2s
Audi RS7 0-60: 3.2s
It is still a fair comparison.
+Tank Dempsey
I'm sorry, but your grammar was so poor I'm having a tough time understanding what you're saying.
Because the only corner half you guys ever see is the one at the back of the class room you usually sit at.
krocialblack I agree just a bunch of hater/ trolls.
krocialblack LOOOOOL. A Hellcat with a few upgrades will kill the Demon for less $$$.
Clunky joke
krocialblack People talk shit because their sick of people like you overglorify them. It's a dumpster with a big engine, designed to do one thing. True car people don't car about numbers or claims Dodge makes.
zomski101 no one is over glorifying it "a dumpster with a big engine" just stupid man just like all are American classic cars right because they have the same bug dumpster big engine theme you got going?
people asking if it can turn this car was made for a straight line race
Iirc, the hellcat looked like it understeered and took a long time to take a set through turns
punctuation is overrated anyway
thatwhite 2vguy it's street legal
Not to mentioned, less than 1% of performance cars will ever see a road course. 100% will see the street. All of the handling in the world will not save you from a Hellcat or Demon when the light turns green.
I'm glad to see Dodge making things like this. Toyota would never do this.
True that but they still made the LFA, one of the greatest supercars(IMO) of all time.
abdullah ramzan lol that you never hear about. Over priced Toyota junk
Kristopher Klassen Chrysler is junk
which dodge will never able to make .
Ross MK sorry but a12 year old's opinions doesn't matter to me
9:39 that super charger!
Why all the hate I'm a Camaro guy all day everyday but this is impressive USA USA USA
Meme Gamer It's not impressive. ..it's rediculous. ...there are a lot of 1500hp street cars driving around now.. this isn't even entry level anymore
Mr Bob a lot of people seem to be missing the point... the Demon is a production car, Dodge didn't set out to make the fastest individual "street car."
I'm already a fan of this car, yet I drive and love my Mercedes C55 AMG. The Dodge Demon, say what you want about it, is a fun loving car.
is it just me or does the demon not look that fast in this video
uptown chi - I thought the same thing, but reminded myself that something as big as a school bus won't appear to be going as fast as a smaller car.. 😂
They've been told to take it easy and let off early. Crashing new Demon = Bad
uptown chi also cars in general feel waaaaay faster when your in them
there are lots of runs but no numbers show in the video lol seems legit
Ocee Bee Rear is softer than hellcat, only control arms are different.
"And there goes the warranty." Exactly.
It only breaks into the 9 second range ON RACE FUEL, WITH A COMPUTER REPROGRAM AND DRAG SLICKS.
Dodge needs to make this more clear.
Which is still mental. You got golf boys spending 10s of ks to get sub 11s. Dodge cant go round corners mind
So...you guys like American muscle but hates on a new american car??? Please explain!!
Edit: good lord this is becoming twitter
Dres2000 we don't like boats that can't turn
21 S3ß0 NOW I understand, check my review of the demon on my channel. It explains my honesty towards the car.
Lmao
I guarantee that 2.3 secc0 to 60 time will not be replicated by anyone but Dodge.
Tesla: hold my electricity
lmao dweeb
Elon musk noises
One day I will be able to tell my kids about how I remember when the dodge demon came out.
Another great Vlog Roman!
No hate here....glad Dodge produced this...GO MOPAR!
The new Tesla Roadster announced yesterday... 🤯
0-60 in 1.9 seconds
8.9 seconds quarter mile
And we have a new king for the world’s fastest production car ⚡️
And it’s a 4-seater
Not even in production untill 2020 (which will probably be delayed again)
Its does not even exist yet...funny how these tesla fans bragging about something that's not even here.
Pablo Rossi bro you really are dumb
it's a nice car but personally it would be more fun to drive it if were a manual transmission.
Those are faster, they cost less, they would beat a Camaro around a track, why don't you get a motorcycle?
goatmonkey2112 man I have never been to any car show and seen people take pictures of them... they haven't changed their look in damn near a decade ..
goatmonkey2112 id rather take the shelby1000 that came 1000hp stock
goatmonkey2112 stfu mustang and camaro is better hurt yourself
USA!!! USA!!!
Italy!!!! Italy!!!!
Danny Guo das ist der USA
Fiat haben Dodge
you know nothing except the engine about this car is USA right? It is a mercedes platform, improved by an Italian company.
Dodge was American at the likes of Ford and Chevrolet by the Chrysler motor company but the percentage of Chrysler is owned by Fiat which in turn is owned by the Volkswagen group
So really it's still Daimler Chrysler
this demon is one hell of a car. you know what they say if you don't have haters that means you're not doing nothing right. haters hate on success and to me this car here is success at it's finest.👍 😈👍
Nice work Roman
Great video guys!
All these Chevy and Ford fans getting their panties in a wad because Dodge has left them both in the dust is cute.
Somehow I didn't see the camaro and mustang fanboys here.
I've yet to see any. The Demon is impressive, but not groundbreaking.
Jealous gay asses who hates on Dodge to feel better...
Hell nah that dodge demon not in Chevy league anymore we have that c8
@@jaydenvallejo8648 there’s a big difference between the corvette and the challenger. When you gets camaro faster than a challenger then we’ll talk.
No hate. All love. Keep muscle alive. I'm never driving a Prius, or letting a car drive me.
The video shows many 1/4 mile runs, none of which show the car clipping the lights to show the ET. Why is that? If it really runs 9.65, show it.
uscfroadie right I was was wondering why they didn't show it being that they are advertising it
They have showed it before in other videos, don't get your chevy/Ford fanboy hopes up.✋
Non Disclosure Agreement. Not allowed to release times until 20 Jun.
Also if they run 9.65 they'll get kicked off the track. 9 second pass or over 135mph you need A cage. That could be it also.
2kwik, the car they are in for the interview has a cage. It's clearly visible in the video. No need for a cage if you run in the 9's. You can do it once, and then you are done for the day. So, let's see it do it at least once versus just producing a time slip. Please link to one of these making a timed run.
9.65! Wow! That's superbike territory!
Would love to see a 850hp Demon vs 850 Trans Am !
Scary
I have read the Hellcat start in 2nd. Does the Demon also start in 2nd?
blackericdenice I don't think so, since this car was entirly build for the drag strip. I think they made the first gear exactly how it has to be in order to work with the Trans Break and everything. But maybe if you're not in Drag mode, it really starts in second in order to get higher MPG.
Just my theory ^^
well done dodge!
Only watched the video to see the hate in the comments.
Good video and explained engine performance concepts and implementation.
mystic1754 Yes there still is turbo lag read and watch videos as I have from recognized and accomplished reviewers, they don't lie. Now I'm done here.
Still would take a hellcat
2nd fastest
the porsche 918 spyder is the fastest accelerating production car in the world with a 0-60 time of 2.2 seconds
I definitely like the exhaust note as it books down the track. I'm no where close to being a Dodge fan but bravo to them!
Every hate comment is from a camaro or mustang owner
tesla fanboys
Now we got hybrid hypercar buttlickers here saying that the 918 is quicker than the Demon when it's ACTUALLY the other way around.
My honda has 17hp
Varedz what year is it? 1979
Wondering wow the TRX is doing? That demon is like the Mona Lisa of racing.
Hindsight, i wish my highschool had an automotive class. How awesome would it be to design and build these vehicles....
JEEEZ 9.65 1/4 mile time. Thats some serious speed. Not a mopar man myself but I can respect this car.
Im proud to be an American
Ivan Nicholas Same but i ain't proud of this ugly pos
Newell 01 Nah i ain't mad
Daniel Cervantes Be quiet and go back to your GTA lol. If you hating why you here?
Ivan Nicholas yessssssss
Rudy F lmao
I didn't know TFL did boat reviews 🤷🏻♂️
Didn't know adidas had fake sponsors
JakeTG No need to get so butt hurt 😂 It's just a joke 🤷🏻♂️
Matteo Nicolini
Was it really?
JakeTG Still not sure why you are so offended by a comment that wasn't even directed towards you.(and yes really was a joke).
ant sz it doesn't matter about cost, its the fanbase that kills it.
Nope the new Tesla Roadster does 0-60 in 1.9 secs
Swaginator 3000 it’s not out
Great video. Learned a lot about the technology built into this car.
I love the cop calibrating his laser gun at the end of the strip.
so guys after some research the demon is the fastest 0-60 you may say oh the teslas faster yes with a term called rollout even the manufacturer even says 2.4 the 2.28 was an independent time so there's my case!
T4RCFE4R Shut up scrub the demon goes in a straight line with a bare interior and uncomfortable seats.
Cole Bender I'm glad you realize that straight line performance was intentional.
Factory claims mean nothing anymore considering the times on the Demon are wrong. For all we know the 0-60 is over 2.28 seconds.... Musk him self posted that its capable of 0-60 in 2.3 with Ludicrous+ and then you have the 918 which does 0-60 in a claimed 2.4? but its hold the world record for the quickest acceleration of 2.1-2.2
Ckc dillpickle also Tesla is pretty garbage after it hits 60 it'll be pulled on every time
Yet, It still does the 1/4th mile faster then a Demon.
Joe Bs Lot of cars have no cages. I see corvettes getting kicked out all day.
Chrysler won't put a cage in for a couple reasons:
1) It's a street car.
You can go run at any non NHRA event... Not hard... Thats most events... LOL
Demon vs tesla ludicrous mode? I want too see!
The tesla fanboys on this are hilarious
ant sz more like you
Worlds fastest car on a professionally prepared drag strip with a professional driver
+Fat Bogan Yes and no. The 9.65 was set by the Dodge engineer not a pro driver.
BTW all manufactures do the same to get the best 1/4 mile time
Well no shit, the idea is to get the best numbers, need the best drivers to do so.
Take any car listed in the top 100 Nurburgring times and see if any owners have ever matched the times. Don't see people complaining about that though.
Fat Bogan youre a dumb one arent ya
Highest horsepower v8 ever produced? I am pretty sure Koenigsegg's 5.0 v8 makes more power. I think they mean highest horsepower massed produced v8
thanks fore nowing things about cars man ...it makes me happy -))) yes sweden produsing higher horsepower but as you saying in a little 5.0 litres -(((( against 9.0 litres ..thats an big diffrent in torch.... and making possible to turning it upp further
Greg Yarbro in a muscle car
Dodge's claim is the highest horsepower of any mass production car .... Koenigsegg engines are hand built low volume motors, and RATHER expensive. This Dodge engine is the most powerful V8 that is in mass production, the biggest bang for the buck!
he says many times
"of any PRODUCTION car"... Pay attention much?
LifeLongStrong There are only a few thousand demons.
Brad Conklin your right on! I also am not big on Chrysler but it is so refreshing to see a good ol american performance car instead of all the rice cans that sound like overgrown weed wackers!
Just ordered the book, looking forward to it
Hahaha,Tesla roadster 1.9 seconds hahah
Hakim Yalew If it's not to hot. Or to cold. And only 3 times in a row. Only a limited amount of time... Teslas are am interesting luxury toy.
Hakim Yalew not out yet so why talk
So ? Demon can reach 341 kmh
Claims claims claims claims car...
Whats worse Tesla or Fiat. Both shit
Just buy a Hellcat and boost the power, I'm not seeing spending a crazy markup's
Gazooo29 Good luck getting it to hold together.
bluestudio67 Easy. Already done by Vehicle Virgins. 1000+ HP only from 2K in upgrades.
Gazooo29 not to mention the demon is draglimited to 169 mph
Basically a hellcat that lost weight.
The koenigsegg has the most amount of hp from a v8 it has 1341 hp so 1 is not true
9:44
h cop I'm not sure it counts as a production car due to the extremely low numbers of koenigseggs, also they're not "street legal" in the US
Noah Fair there are some koenigseggs in the u.s. and they didnt say that they had to be mass production
Noah Fair he said and i quote "most powerful v8 ever produced"
Koenigsegg(s) is/are not production cars hence why they doesnt count. Its a special order and most arent legal in the USA the ones that are generally the older CCX models.
That Car Guy they are still here and have a more powerful engine tjey didn't say it was production
Dodge & SRT make such badass cars! I just wish they can sort out the reliability issues they're notorious for.
Tesla Roadster 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds
Indigomarine91 in 2020 ;)
Does not exist. Only in papers and numbers.
It also doesn't exist yet. By 2020, Dodge will have created another version of the Challenger to beat that time lol.
fast
Thats absolutely intense.
It would be interesting to see how other cars would compare with the same tyres.
Since traction is usually hugely significant issue with drag runs.
I wonder how does it handle on normal roads?
What a waste of money!
Tesla Roadster 2.0
Im'a just leave this here..
Ok, its not untill 2020 the vehicle hit the streets (if it wont be delayed again) and by then faster cars will be around.
Matt Millar Tesla fanboys bragging on a nonexistent car. When customers actually take delivery we’ll see what it is. Not saying it won’t hit their performance goals. But they also gave dodge two years and a number to aim for.
It don’t count doesn’t use gasoline
Eh Mopar, I'm not impressed. I'm never buying Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Ram again.
J T SMITH Because I was bored and it was in my feed.
The Punisher Nope got a Subaru, handles better in the snow than my Jeep ever did, I love it! Have fun with your straight from factory lemons! 😄👍
The Punisher I beg to differ. I've driven both, you have not and as soon as I pay off my Subaru I'm lifting it, tuning it and supercharging it, making it even more better than the Jeep I previously owned. Not to mention the fact that Subaru is more reliable. Again have fun with your lemon.
didn't the Arial Atom have 1.6sec 0-60 in 2009....with only 259hp....?
+Chris Kennedy Perhaps, but it is not a production car.
The Fast Lane Car you can buy it from a dealer just like any other production car....
Chris Kennedy "Production car" doesn't mean "bought from a dealer". Cars have to meet a certain amount of cars made or something like that to officially be a production car.
Ariel Atom is a production car. The v8 (~500hp) atom runs 0-60 in 2.3 seconds too with a 8 second 1/4 mile
This comment nearly made me have a brain hemorrhage.
love the stock jam intro, FLAVACHASA
The tesla is gonna be a hypercar, whereas the demon is a muscle car, obviously a tesla will be faster, but speed isnt everything.
Pj McCartney its an electric car lol who cares
The Tesla roadster 2 doesn’t exist yet. Let’s see where things are at when one of those actually makes it to the street.
Pj McCartney Lord_iBelieve There are so many dumb Tesla fanboys who claim roadster is quicker. That car has not yet been released
And let's be honest it looks common, keep the Viper, least it is unique, they should have developed the Viper into this beast, not the common, found in EVERY parking lot Challenger, I can see the fake Demon stickers going on Challengers everywhere, and guys saying "nope it's not a real demon, it's just a v6, but Damn boy look at them stickers" lmao
they didn't stop producing the viper because of this, it just couldn't met us safety regulations anymore
Well, your comment then begs the question: "Ok, so WHY are you hating?" I'm a hard-core Chevy guy, but I gotta give props where props are due. This is an amazing car - no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
am waiting for the 2018 gt500
Nader Saleh 780hp was what I've been told by Ford dealer up by me.
Baltimore brawler Knowing Ford it will probobly be a turbo 6, I doubt they're getting 780hp out of a factory built V6 with warranty.
Oooo fast in a straight line
This car can truly make a man happy.
