Many people ask this in comments as there is no easy way around.
All I can say is:
Try not to lose the matches with the same rank. If you are not confident enough against any specific match-up, you should avoid rematching and try to lab that character in the practice mode 1st. Although playing against that character more and more can be a good learning experience. At the same time, you have to save the points you earned with a lot of effort.
Don't stress yourself too much when you lose points or even demote.
I usually watch my replays and learn from my mistakes.

That question is not specific enough to help you in any meaningful way. At the end of the day you just have to get better at the game and win more. There’s not much you can do to manipulate the rank system besides pick cheesy characters like Kuma and cherry pick matches.
