Make sure to lean your shoulders over the starting line as they say "get set"
You trickster☠️
Everyone has different dominant legs. You don’t need to be a righty to have your right leg dominant. Have someone push you and whatever foot you use to catch yourself is dominant.
I thought the leg that catches you is the one you out behind since it’s going to catch you in the start
@@brettevans6217 That's how I was taught and that's how I coach my athletes.
Yeah I’m right footed and put my left block first.
Same
shouldn't be catching you...should be quick to track and pushing you forwards to triple extension.@@reggiehampton2685
you also dont want to pop right up but come out low and get to the upright position within the first 2 to 3 steps. by popping right up it takes you longer to get up to top speed and by popping right up its like putting on the brakes on your start.
My dominant leg is my right but I struggle to use my right foot for the blocks so I use the left foot in front of
My stronger leg is my right but my front block is my left bcs that way my furst step is faster and stronguer
be sure not to step out... you must push - with both feet. Most power will come from the front foot
@@porthmeor1hello my right leg is stronger than left
my left leg injured when push hard ,,,I become slow ,,,when I change this front block with right leg and back block with left leg ,,,I feel comfortable start with fastly and better results compare to previous left leg dominance start
OK...If you are injured do not sprint...especially from blocks. When fit, whatever feels best but still need to push with both legs. If you sprint hurdle then it is common to have to change front/back legs to hit the first hurdle with the correct lead leg....Good Luck!@@Deepak28262
Man I hate those things one time when I did 60 m I used it and got 3rd place because my leg was too close to the other it was so uncomfortable
just set up correctly and then every start will be consistent.
I've read you should put the leg you would kick with in back so you get a good knee drive at the start.
Very well explained what was necessary❤❤.
How do you know whats ur dominate leg.. If I am right handed it means that is my dominant?
a way to figure out that worked for me personally have someone give u a push from your back and whatever leg comes out first is your lead leg
So lead leg is the dominent.. Or just another way to call it?
The lead leg is the dominant one
The dominant leg is your power leg. So whatever leg you would use to jump of off or do a lay up of
Im right But feel bettr When the left is upfront
luis jaimes I'm the same way
luis jaimes that’s how it’s supposed to be
same
Same but I guess that isn’t the correct way
@@Yofavfinese no its not
I angle my blocks slightly for the 200m/400m to run the tangent of the curve.
Thank you great video
thank you
So my dominant leg is my right, so the right block will be forward?
No, behind
@@jadenshort6339 no front!
Behind
U van start off any one they won’t care lol it just easy to pick one
Thank u so much
Superb bro
actually u have to put ur non dominant leg first so when u start ur stronger leg goes first
Potato Boi are you stupid
Posterize he’s stupid
He’s not wrong, I’ve had track coaches say the same thing
@Ruth Owusu i just use my dominant foot so I can get a really good push of The blocks either way works
So how would you be able to get a good push off the blocks then?
Nice start
You want them angled for the 200 and 400, of course. Not the 100.
Your dominant leg should be back because that’s the foot you’re going to step with. Think about it if somebody pushes you from behind your dominant legs going to step out first
That’s not your dominant leg. That’s your quick leg. Your dominant leg is the one you jump off to do a lay up or Jump off period
@@brettevans6217 Sprint hurdlers need to start with which ever leg will put their trail leg in the right position to take off and attack the first hurdle.
@@brettevans6217 you use your non dominant leg to jump tho…
No dominant leg should be in front. Your quick leg in the back.
Nice 💪
Hey good video how do i know witch is my dominant leg thank u
Rugby Luca Cucalon If you are right handed it’s your right leg. If your left handed it’s your left leg.
ThatWeirdGirl 1 Not always
The leg that u go up on when ur doing a layup
i’m late but have someone push you and the leg that goes out to catch you is your dom
@@laycebug3260 that’s wrong. The leg that catches you is your quick leg and should be put in the back.
Like kome je ovo nastavnik iz fizickog poslao na teams
hahahah koji si ti car
@@djordjefatovic9771 HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHHHHA
Simply super.
No longer
Ayo dawg whats ur time tho
How do we know which is our dominant leg?
Try to write an essay with each foot, whichever one wins a Nobel prize is the dominant
@@HeyKevinYT haha?
Have someone push you the leg you catch yourself with is the dominant one
try kicking a ball or stopping a ball, the one you use is the dominant leg
Same
😊😊😊
Ground is rubber
🤝.
oh but
😘🤟🖤
Those things make me face plant for some reason💀
Block distance based on foot length is a stupid, lazy way to setup. It should be based on leg length. Check out athlete x on TH-cam for a good way to setup
I want to beat the world record
Lol better start training then. Good luck
your blocks are way to far from the starting line. Therefore the blocks measurements are wrong.
The block positions look fine. Any closer and the shin angle will be too tall and the sprinter will push more upwards than forwards.
@@porthmeor1 definitely agree with you
I've got the same hairline going on well let me be clear one side of my hairline is receding just like dude in the video and the other side of my hairline hasn't left the sprinting block dudes be calling me 2 of Americans most wanted on the streets I'm known in the block I'm like a real super hero the left side I got that flo rida hairline look and the right side I got usher hairline look I'm still wondering when the f00k it's gonna start leaving and catching up like usin blot, I can walk in side ways into a bank and rob and walk out the other side way , I'm gone
how the fuck do you not have any toe in angle? you should be able to splice already
What?
This guy doesn't know much. Watch Jaret Campisi's starting block video if you want fact.
TehEpicDuck :3 So you're an ewe among Jarret's flock?
kennevents he retired from track years ago and became a bodybuilder..
Lol I won a state race with a stand up start and I’m 14😊
liam_7 sure u did what were your times
Won't work in highschool kid
Standing start and 3 pt starts are often faster than block starts unless the athlete is very powerful and proficient at blocks
good-old-tom KOTH false
@@goodoldtom 3 point starts are not allowed in official comps
You shouldnt be comfortable in the blocks
