You are the MOST professional groomer I've EVER seen. I would NEVER second guess your wisdom, knowledge, & expertise.
Doing what's best for the dog seems to cause stress & anxiety for humans. Only mature humans can understand this.
Not gonna lie - it causes me anxiety and I'm working on that.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge & wisdom! ❤

I watched this through and could watch it again and again. I have been a groomer in my working career and totally agree with everything you do. These puppies are dear little souls and did not ask to have to stay still for too long although restraint is something that needs to be learnt for ongoing grooming. I applaud you and your methods and you obviously love what you do. I wish all groomers were like you

So much nicer to see proper training for grooming rather than improper handling xx

I admire Groomer’s like you...I have a 5 month toy poodle who is still not behaving or calm for her face especially at the Groomer’s. Great video.

My toy poodle was fine for awhile and then decided she hated her face done. I lean her face in my chest and groom that way. I think its the vibration of the clippers over the sinuses is annoying. She is much calmer. I only have the problem between her eyes and around tear duct area. Which are tear stain free first.. Then I can do the rest of her face like normal. I make sure I'm not pressing the clippers too. I also give her a treat or two after. And praise.

The breeder I got my standard from didn't do much to prepare her for grooming, so I had to start from scratch when she was 9 weeks! This video helped me a LOT in getting her through her first groom. Thank you! ❤

Such an adorable little wiggle bug. Were he mine, I’d be thrilled to see how kind and nurturing you work with him. His tail is wagging the whole time!

Superb masterclass. I wish all owners and groomers could see and learn from this.

Thank you for the informative video! You're so good with this sweet puppy. I am not a groomer but I would really like to become one, but I'm not sure how to get the proper training so I dont accidentally hurt the dogs when I groom them. Would you mind letting me know where you got your training?

I grew up in the business and leaned growing up, when I was 22 years old I needed proof of my skills to set people’s minds at ease and decided to get certified through the NDGAA. I recommend grooming schools to get started, then apprenticeship under a certified professional for 3 years before you consider yourself a professional. Many people straight out of a 3-6 month course are told that they need no more training but they really do.

I tried doing some of the handling at home so my puppy is good at the groomer's but he's doing a lot of biting and hates being held. Any tips? Or is this something I should just leave to a professional?

Ignore him as he is wiggling, the second that he yawns or relaxes say good boy and release him with a treat or a toss of a favorite toy

If the dog is full of energy he should be played with, and more calm b4 a groom appt.

Thank you. The pet owners should all be sure to do that prior to coming in.
