Having gone over 17,000 miles in my Ioniq 5, I find that EA 350's have more problems than the 150's and the charging time is only about 5-10 minutes longer on the 150kw to 80%. Every time I stop at an EA, I consider not even trying the 350's since they rarely work.
@@PCsandEVs In the spring when we went from Seattle to Key West and back about 60% of the time the 350kW's worked. Now that summer has come and things have gotten really hot, only about 25% of them work and often there is a Chevy Bolt or Kia Niro EV parked in front of it sucking down 62 kW's. At any rate the Ioniq 5 pulls 173-175kW out of the 150's and it stays pretty flat. Because the curve is so good, I quit running off the bottom of the pack and instead run more 40-80% charges, because by the time I go to the bathroom it's ready to go, and If I want to skip a charger along the way, I'm in better shape Also 80%-90% only takes 10 minutes more on either a 150 or 350. Note somewhere around 82% the car takes a 2 minute break to cool the pack and check the cells before finishing the 90% charge, but you probably already know that.
@@PCsandEVs You recognized this, but as a Bolt driver (55Kw max) I hope you appreciate how very lucky you are with that crazy charging speed. Thanks for sharing your experiences here. :)
Just made the opposite trip last week. Maryland to Maine and back last Friday. Even stopped by the same Auburn mall - seemed very remote and empty. Made the mistake of stopping by EA in Secaucus NJ. Parking is too close to entrance and many spots were ICE’d. Overall though got 225ish most of the time and never had to wait.
After watching a few of your videos it seems like all the handle and station switching is costing you more time than just staying on the first working machine.

Interesting, since as shown here, our experiences were amazingly good!

@@PCsandEVs wait, what about all of those broken EAs you encountered first?
@@gadflyrock none of those were broken, just doing slightly under the peak power, still doing 185kw each instead of say 210kw

Hahah that does make sense, glad you are enjoying
I've used the Auburn Mall EA station several times - Generally OK charging, but Mall is not the best for amenities

The plan on the return trip was exactly that, but we had faulty stations, which was annoying
No doubt you added a ton of time to this trip by not just letting it charge below 200kw but if that’s what you like then more power to you.
Attempting a different style on the way back!
What a hassle

LED is the new chrome.
Indeed it is.
