  • You have to love how easy it is to work on these kei trucks. I know most Suzuki Carrys have the DD51T/F6A engine but check your model to see if this same filter works for you.

Lubricating the new filter helps keep the gasket from pinching and sealing appropriatley. That said, I would always lube with fresh oil. Don't go back into the old....
    Thanks for the video!

Hey mang, just completed my first oil change on my '93 carry after getting your help with this video. Thanks a lot, I was hesitating but you dropped the knowledge. I ended up using this same oil and a wix filter.

Typically use new oil, but oiling the gasket on the filter will help it to seal when you tighten it down by hand

I wouldn’t recommend any aftermarket filters that require oiling the filter element. The elements themselves are much more porous (to where I can easily see daylight between the strands). The filter oil is supposed to help with that, but overall the airbox you have is meant to work with your carbs. Also, I wouldn’t crank up an engine with the cover off and air filter sitting like that. All the dirt is on the outside of the filter and inside the housing. The cover holds the filter tight so the intake pulls air through the filter, and keeps the dirt in the other part of the housing. Without the filter being held on, you’re going to pull a lot of the dust in the air filter housing directly into the intake. Thanks for the vid overall. I just bought a Carry and am trying to figure out where everything is at, capacities, viscosities, sizes, etc. Cheers

Did you take the cover off of the air filter? There should be a cap on the end where the filter sticks out (at least mine has one)

You listed the part # and brand for the filter in the video, please do so with links in the comments also for things like that and the oil brand and viscosity you use and the timing belt you spoke of (when you replace it), stuff like that. It really helps us Kei truck peoples! Thanks for the cool vids, keep up the good works.

Please don’t get under her without Jack stands, I now your young and indestructible, but 1500 lbs is still a lot of weight and I enjoy your mini truck videos, you got a lot of living to do and don’t need a serious injury, don’t mean to sound like a grandpa Karen.👍👍👍👍👍

Bro, there is a place in the Bronx, close to Yankee stadium that rebuilds alternators and starters just in case you can’t get those parts.

Oil on the gasket seal lubricates the seal to avoid damage (tares, uneven seal, stretching of rubber when torqued)
If you wanna be a real cool car care dude down the road get some DC-4 GREASE and use that on the seal instead of oil.

I work on aircraft engines and know what keeps seals healthy, I also like being able to have a oil filter that doesn't leak but also is fairly easy to turn off when the time comes.
Just a alternative to oil on the seal.

do you consider an Engine Swap?
not a ludicrous LS,SR20 or Wankel swap..
but maybe a slight upgrade like a Suzuki G13 Engine or a Modern Suzuki K10/K15 Swap to bump the power up to 100hp's?
the stock engine on those is a bit too weak even on Intercooled Turbo EFI Engines

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  2 ปีที่แล้ว

For me it’s not worth it. Even if this kei truck did have 100hp it would probably drive like crap and it’s already a death trap the way it is

Facebook marketplace look for some 13/14x5.5 and they will improve the ride

You added new oil to the oil filter, how did it hold the oil in once you inclined it to screw it on because it was pretty inclined.
