definitely is not a surprise the motor was prebuilt for a turbo, the industry never gives you what something is capable until they can maximize the amount of money they can make.
Great video, it makes me wonder even more about the patriot boost and how they keep the IAT cool, no intercooler or water injection...I would love to have a new mxz 850 turbo, I still love my '22 Mach Z
Charge air temps are what they’re keeping cool. IAT is pre turbo inlet air. The only way to reduce charge air temps on a boost is to reduce boost. The only way to maintain hp on a heat soaked boost is to increase the boost. Not sure what route Polaris went with this.
I remember that Boeing 707's from the late 50's used this same technology. They had to use it on take off and the engines created giant black exhaust streaks when they were in full water-methanol injection.
Need the drag racing videos -vs- the Polaris Boost and the Sidewinders of the world. If Kevlar Lake is suspect, the Boost wouldn't mind winning on another lake further north!
A few people have e reported check valve failures on the line coming from the meth tank that when the sled sits all of the meth, or “ice” drains into the crankcase. There is already an aftermarket vendor making a stainless check valve to the replace the OEM one.
Watching Muskoka doing his initial review...I suspect it has everything to do with break in...but every other turbo, even his Dad's 850 ETEC beat him on the lake. Also, a lot of black build up from the exhaust on side panels. Way too much machine for me, just looking for your input.
@@joshwagner5414 my point is , yes Skidoo did come out with the turbo first and they talk plenty about it for the last couple of years. Polaris came out with a turbo sled 1 year after them, from the moment they came out Polaris has ben claiming there 850 was designed for this turbo, they just couldn't stop talking about it... now what 4 season deep in there turbo sled wen they now have it a year later then Poo in there trail sled NOW Doo have ALSO designed there 850 like 9+ years ago so that 6 year's down the road they would put a turbo on it? I don't buy it. I will also leave this here, not related to your post but... I bought my first sled in 2018 an assault 800, loved the sled. But now after years and years of watching this channel I realized something and it was really confirmed this season, for me it really made me loose interest in this channel! Wen I started watching all the glory of Polaris was sung! They had the best front end, then the 850 was the best 850, there new gauge was the best gauge the assault was the best crossover and the sled of the year a couple of times.... then all the sudden 2023 season came around all the sudden all the best sleds where Doo's the new doo gauge was better even do it ain't! The doo 850 is better then the poo, the turbo doo is better then the boost, doo has the better crossover, better trail rider better everything.... it's not about the sled it's about who lones the more sleds and is a better "partner" for video! I don't beleive Doos just got beter at everything with the same product and the poo gauge, front end, driving/wind protection of the matrix etc just got worst over night! You don't need to tast it to smell it! BTW I own a 23 Poo that's seen the dealer morr often then the trail this year! It's not about poo being better then doo or the opposite, it's the swinging bias!
I think I speak for everyone when I say I’m already sick of seeing that same old skidoo turbo like almost everyday same boring sled being talked about. No offence guys it’s just seems that way.
Thats what happens when theres only 3 manufacturers out there. Reduced competition makes manufacturers less concerned with innovation and trying to gain an edge over competition.
Put a review on other sleds too like utility sleds not everyone wants a skidoo turbo. Your channel has become less and less interesting because same old sleds reviews

My next sled ! Backcountry xrs turbo 43" wide front end !!!

I guess bogie wheels aren’t that outdated after all!
B-52's used them too, 300 gallons on takeoff
Goddamn 😂 that's thirsty @@bobbertee5945

Yeah, it's like September weather around here at the moment. Suspect many of the lakes are unsafe and are probably going to open up early.
How much for a gallon? And how often does a guy need to refill the tank?
Great video 👍🏻
Thank you!!
Off course you can only use the bombardier injection fluid🙄
The best is when all the water fills into the motor when it sits
Huh?

@@skidoojunky6230 Ohhhh I c. First I’ve heard of this issue!
How wide are the skis for that sled
5.7" I believe.

This video is to advanced for most of your subscribers..LOL if you keep talking all fancy some might think you are taking away their freedoms LOL
😆
I'd bet that air brake antifreeze and water would be just fine. Or rubbing alcohol and water.
The 850 was designed from the start with a turbo in minde..... sounds like another manufacturer....
Idk what point you are making. Skidoo put out the first 850, and turbo. Hence why the skidoos have boost injectors

Planned obsolescence. Start looking for a new sled when it has 3000 miles on it.
Just a 850cc, inline 2, fuel injected, turbocharged, two stroke reactor. nothing to see here.
PLEASE get rid of the dubstep at the beginning of all your videos, it's not 2011 anymore and its literally painful on the ears. Please.
Uhmnn.... Nope
They can't build a ski.
New ski and front end works so good.
