But I would be interested if it happens that a doctor is looking at the BIS monitor while having a syringe of medicine and using the BIS information to judge how much of the medicine to apply?
Sometimes the BIS/BISx functionality can be activated in a normal patient monitor like the Spacelabs UltraView SL (shown in 2:51), Mindray Benevision, GE Carescape or Philips IntelliVue (module shown in 2:55) using plug-in modules. Older BIS cable sets use a DSP, while BISx use a LOC unit.
My first series is going to be the bare basics on many things patient monitoring, electronics and the career field in general. Later videos will cover more specifics. I need to gain an audience before I can deliver the real nerdy stuff.

I myself have more questions than answers and as my viewership increases, I'm hoping to leave some open ended questions in videos in hopes of getting professional responses from those in the know.

What is the etymology of this?
BOLTR a cable so we can reverse engineer/ rebuild it.
I would love to see what's inside the LOC module
But I haven't seen this device being used during my work experience
