The most beautiful football I’ve ever seen any team play. I was 16, a Liverpool fan in England, and yet I can still remember the names of this whole team. I feel blessed to have watched them at the time. Sócrates and Leandro are still heroes to me
It was funny that summer when we were playing footie down the park .We all pretented that we were that Brazilian side .junior. socrates. Eder .zirco .It was like watching football from the gods .
So sad that losing that game changed the Brazilian attitude to football! Brazil 82 are maybe the best side that never won. I was a young Scottish kid watching them play Scotland and it was like the two teams were playing DIFFERENT sports. And it wasnt just Scotland, the way they played was just incredible. Thank you brasil
This team of 82 only lacked Reinaldo of Atlético Mineiro, the best striker in Brazil at the time, far superior to Serginho and Careca, he had the level to get where Ronaldo and Romario arrived, including Romario's idol when he was a child. 40 years have passed and I've still not seen a team knock the ball around as sweetly and smoothly as this one did. They scored so many wonder goals too. I was eleven years old but couldn't hold back the tears when they went out!
I was a 21 year old Englishman, football daft and when Brazil were naively knocked out of this fantastic Spanish held World Cup I cried my eyes out. That team was the most fantastic bunch of exciting talented footballers I’ve ever seen in my life.
As you were only 21 you are forgiven, but the 1970 World Cup WINNING Brazilian team was far superior.........Pele, Jairzinho, Tostao, Gerson , Rivelino, Carlos Alberto. It’s nice that you remember a losing team, but they were inferior to the 1970 team. I watched both world cups so am able to form that opinion 👍 You can’t be considered the best if you don’t actually win the trophy that confirms that you are the best.
I was 6, watching from my living room in Scotland. When Brazil hammered Scotland 4-1, I instantly became a Brazil fan, and have been ever since 😃 🏴🇧🇷
This was the team that made me fall in love with Football. Zico, Socrates, Falcao and Eder - The Beatles of Football. Every goal was like a Da Vinci masterpiece. Pure Beauty.... ⚽️
Jonty Arnold Eder? Zico Socrates Junior Cerezo and Falcao played in Italy in the toughest league ever and it was like they were playing Sunday league Beasts
Today football is a game on autopilot. In 1982 this team played both rehearsed and spontaneous. They improvised when they had to. They PLAYED football.
I was 11 years old in 1982 and I still remember all Brazil matches in that world Cup. It was like one of heroic movie to watch. I cried a lot after Brazil losing to Italy. Brazil on later stages won at 1994 and following 2002 but trust me still was not the same taste like ever been to the team of 1982. Whole world hearts were with Brazil, likewise I am from Turkey but I loved Brazil a lot indeed. Forever Love Brazil,
Great comment I was 9 at the time and I cried too when Brazil lost to you Italy. It was the first world cup that I fully remember and I thought every World cup would be as memorable. Not so it turned out.

That was the mistake of Socrates, to be a leftist militant. But we understand, because at that time people were deceived by lying and corrupt politicians. The left destroyed education, health, security and implemented the biggest corruption scheme in the galaxy. Everything that is wrong they support> abortion, gay marriage, gender ideology, drug release, pedophilia and so on. The Brazilian people well missed the democratic military government, where religion, families and private property were respected. Where we had security, we could walk quietly through the streets without fear of being mugged. For all this, the people took to the streets to overthrow the leftist socialist / communist president and democratically we elected the military and captain of the army: Jair Bolsonaro. And he is being the best president that Brazil has had in the last 35 years. Two years have passed since the government, and there is no case of corruption in the federal government. The whole media is against him, because she participated in the corruption schemes with the parties of the communist left. President Bolsonaro cut the billion dollar funds that filled the bank's press accounts. The media participated in corruption with politicians. That's why they hate President Bolsonaro and spend 24 hours a day creating fake news against him. But we, the people, are on President Bolsonaro's side. The media (TVs, newspapers, etc.) corrupt, lying and manipulative, does not deceive anyone else.
These Footballers should be so proud of what they have achieved!!! They never won the cup, but what they have achieved is so much bigger!! 35 Years Later....The all World Still Talk About You Guys....and That's because you have changed Football forever.....You set the new bar to the entire planet on a all new level.. ...a level the world has never seen before!!! And because of that... Football was never the same again. ... (For the better)
The greatest Brazilian team, and greatest World Cup Football team, ever. Sheer genius, joy, team work. They weren't playing for the money, then, just style, skill, enjoyment. No violence. It was like the Angels were amongst them. Few mistakes made, which cost them the World Cup, and history. I will always remember that team though, great inspiration to me (started loving and playing the sport more), and to football, and sports, in general. Dont forget the 1958, 1970 and 1974 teams though, with Pele (Edson Arantes de Nascimento - I think that was his official name).
This was the team that made me , as kid, fall not only in love with the much talked Brazilian dominance in futebol but also the aesthetic art they glossed on football made the sport famous across the world. Obrigado Brasil, a terra da criatividade
What a team!!! Best ever national football team I have seen in my life, I was one of its fan and I am from Argentina They played the real beautiful football. I miss Brazil 82

@@jamesanthony5681 I enjoyed Brazil playing the JOGO BONITO When JOGO BONITO is played, is about a team and a player. Certainly you have the idea completely wrong. Brazil played as a team the beautiful football, they only ''SIN'' was playing always forward and never ever trying to speculate with the result. Italy was about catenaccio and won the world cup in 1982. Most of fans that love the sport wanted Brazil winning the 1982 world cup, not because the talented individuals JOGO BONITO=TEAM & INDIVIDUAL DISPLAY you got it?
As a Brazilian and who lived intensely during the time of this Brazilian team, I say that this is an eternal phenomenon. Note that, like the champion Brazilian team of 70, the 82 is the most talked about to date, as it has never won anything. Even without titles, but because of the majestic and truly artistic football that thrilled the world, the 82nd team will never leave the minds of art football lovers.
One of the safest day of my life. It was a Tuesday. Rushed home after summer session at my college. Terrible day. Two days later, France v Germany. Disappointed again. Final uneventful.

My favorite team of all time in football! As a young teenager I absolutely loved them in the 1982 World Cup, and heart broken when they didn’t win against Italia.
Some very interesting curiosities for the ones that don't know: - Guardiola said that the Brazi'ls 1982 team was his inspiration to define his style of game. You can notice that a lot of the passes you see in the video are first touched, something we saw again in Guardiola's Barcelona. Definitely, something revolutionary for the time. - Socrates was the first player to ever use the back heel pass intentionally (you can see a lot of "advanced for the time" passes in this video - the LB of that team, was right footed - Junior. Of course, he also could use the left foot, but he always played on the left side - the bench was as good as the starters. Players like Roberto Dinamite, Dirceu, Batista, Paulo Isidoro would constantly enter the games - No team in the world is unanimous and this team had 2 players that the crowd and press did not trust entirely, such as the rest of the team - The GK Waldir Peres and the Striker Serginho. However, as Brazil would win every game, the crowd would tolerate those 2 in the main squad and Tele Santana (Brazil's coach at the time) was nationally beloved. - Cerezo missed a very silly pass in the game against Italy that resulted in the Italians' goal. For a long time, he was considered the "one to blame". - In that time, the National Teams had more time to train together. Most of Brazil players were playing in Brazil National League. Therefore, the comradely and team chemistry were very good. - Many say that after that WC, the football changed. The "defensive" minded coaches started to gain the market and this probably only changed after Guardiola's Barcelona. Cheers!
Serginho wasted a lot of chances.....and people took notice when the team lost. Zico created an openning for Serginho two or three minutes after Rossi's first goal and he missed with only Zoff to beat. Kinda like the first Higuain. Brazil was also really unfortunate to lose Careca on the eve of the tournament. He would have started instead of Serginho had he not picked up that injury
Great comment and wonderfully broken down. I was 9 years old in 1982 and I can honestly say I cannot remember Brazil playing so consistently brilliant in the world cup s since then. Even though they went on to win the tournament twice in subsequent years. It's also the first world cup I remember.
Very good points, especially the point about the best players leaving brasil to play in Europe!! Brasil today has no style, they are just another team……..I’ve lost the will to watch them since there’s nothing special about it🤷🏻♂️
Brazil V Italy in World Cup 82 was for me the best football match ever played. I was 14 years old and I watched this match with my late grandfather in Mexico. I still remember my grandpa and I were mesmerized for two hours and it’s a day I will never forget.
Great post; that game defined my life in some ways too- I was 7 years old and in Italy with my family visiting my grandparents. I watched that game at my uncle's house, and will never forget the celebration that followed after Italy's upset win
Amazing team - their European Tour of Summer 1981 was arguably even better than what we see here. I don't think England touched the ball for the first 20 minutes and then Eder's double swerve shot that left Ray Clemence utterly bemused....lovely memories. But hats off to Italy - they played well that day and were a fine team in their own right.
Tele Santana made some mistakes at this tournament which when you add them up cost Brazil - it's the little things that can make a difference in the end. After the first couple of games when it was obvious that Serginho wasn't up to it, I don't know why he didn't drop him for Paulo Isidoro and play Socrates as a withdrawn centre forward a la Kipiani/Cruyff. I would also have played Edevaldo at right back who I think was better defensively than Leandro, this would have offset Junior constantly playing as an inside forward. Also not playing your best goalkeeper Emerson Leao because of 'issues' was a bit silly. You play your best team and goalkeeper is a vital position especially at the highest level.
@@Ruda-n4h _Careca_ and _Reinaldo_ were much better strikers _for this team_ than Serginho. Careca got injured just before the tournament. Santana said Reinaldo was also injured. They were a great team, but because they were weak on defense they lost to Italy. Brazil 1970 and 2002 team were Brazil's best teams. Brazil had a lot of great teams that did not become world champions in the world cup.

@Galva Tron for me it was a great team that played beautiful football. The 98 team had some great players no doubt but the style of football want typical samba was more European.
Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Marcos... Half of the 2002 squad members would likely be starters in the 1982 team. But, of course: football is a collective game. And you need something called CHEMISTRY to make it work.
The coach who recognized more the beauty of the game than the result itself. Wow! If you were fouling too much the opponent players you were exchanged. Just incredible philosophy. Pure romanticism!

This Brazil team might not have won the trophy, but they won something far more important: the hearts of football fans around the world. I remember watching this game as a teenager, and I was gutted afterwards. I didn't want to talk to anyone. Now I look back more philosophically and just want to say "Thank you" to a team that gave me so much pleasure and inspired me to coach football to children in a way that allows them to enjoy themselves.

I am a world cup witness since 1974 in Germany. in my country _Egypt_ the life used to stop during Brazil 1982 matches in the world cup. Nobody in the streets and less traffic in the whole country. I still remember that Egyptians were completely shocked after Brazilian defeat against Italy.

What an inspiration. They just loved playing beautiful football with style and grace... Truly I was blessed to witness this
I have loved Brazilian Futbol my whole life. The 1982 squad was amazing and unstoppable UNTIL they met the fury of Italy in the semifinals. Brazil took them for granted and Paolo Rossi put a stop to Brazilian magic.
William Walton and most of them played in a very tough Italian league!!! It means that they not only were great players, but they had big balls too....!!!!
THANKS for posting this. I watch this Brasil team live in the 82 world cup, as a kid in Jamaica. This 1982 Brasil team was a master class in soccer. They never lob long air passes down the field, they kept the ball on the surface with beauty and skill. Every player was skillfully dangerous. I was sad and depressed when Italy squeak by them in the quarterfinals. 3 goals from Paolo Rossi along with two classic goals from Brasil. One mistake Brasil defender makes that cost them a possible trip to the finals.
Zico always made a hard analysis about Brazilian football during the World Cup here in Brazil ... he was always reprimanded by some players more triumphant than him in the National Team .... So: _ What did you win, ZICO? Then he has to swallow two pains dry: one not having won a Cup and the other seeing players inferior to him ... having the right to say that
Zico said it best: "My swapping shirts with Gentile after the final whistle was not meant ironically. I really admired what he had done for his team. If we had had a defender like him at that tournament, no one would've beaten us."
Yup. Sometimes one player can really make the difference. Example. The greatest player ever to grace a football pitch…….Maradona, who dragged an average International team to victory in 1986 and bloody nearly did it again in 1990.
IT'S A LIE OF THE PRESS, THERE WAS NO MILITARY DICTATORSHIP HERE IN BRASI. THE MIND PRESS. I lived my adolescence in the time of the DEMOCRATIC MILITARY GOVERNMENT, and I can say, we never had any dictatorship. At that time, we were free, we had the right to come and go, work, study, leave the country and enter again. The censorship that the press talks so much about, was because they (the press) could not destroy families, moral values, nor the innocence of children, as they do today, it was this "censorship". At the time the military took over the government, to avoid a murderous communist dictatorship along the lines of Cuba, Russia, China, etc., Brazil was a real favela, had no infrastructure, and was the 44th economy in the world ranking. The military placed our economy in the 6th position of the world ranking, the GDP was 14%, and all the infrastructure that we still enjoy today is his legacy. Military presidents and their families all died poor, nobody became a millionaire with the people's money. Quite different from the civilian presidents who took over later, right? In their time, bandits were treated as bandits, and those who had rights were good citizens. Today, things are reversed. I don't need to comment, do I? Why did Brazil get to this point? Well, in the past, the people only had the communist press and communist teachers to deceive them, that's the truth. See that today, with the internet, people are already getting smart and seeing that they were deceived. Pay attention, so they don't make you a useful idiot. "The same people who call the military dictators, call Fidel President."
Brazil losing to Italy made me so sad as a 13 year old English boy still makes me sad as an old English man. Never seen a team like this since, really hope I will again one day.

This Brazilian's team midfield and forward was so spectacular to watch that it made everyone ignore that they had defensive flaws. It made the team look undefeatable.
Brazil midfield and forwards from 1970 piss all over this 82 team. Pele, Tostao, Rivellinho, Jairzinho, Gerson, Clodoaldo LOL!! Besides Zico, Falcao and maybe Socrates, who else from Brazil 82 could compare to that 70's front six??
@Fernando Cunha actually before the world cup there were two awesome strikers, Careca (the best striker at that moment in Brazil) and Reinaldo (quite similar style and talent to Romario). Two true beasts. Both of them got injured before world cup. It was a real tragedy. It even changed the team's dynamic. Careca and Reinaldo could run with the ball, dribble, kick from outside the box, 1-2 passes, give assistances, good crossings, change positions with Zico, Socrates, Falcão, Cerezo or whoever was playing as midfielder. With Serginho, who were much stronger that both of those, but slower, less skilful and with less resources, they needed use it as a post player and do more crossing balls in the box instead of fast 1-2 as usual and this even exposed more the defense as the full backs needed run more times towards the attack end line. It downgraded the national Brazilian team's dynamic a lot. They could score maybe even two times more goals and leave the defense more solid and harder to beat as the full backs could stay more. Just a couple of speculation about a likely future that never happened, although they have some well founded factual basis.

I have been fan for Brazil since childhood. I think Brazil is the only football team that when they win or when they lose, you would still enjoy their game and adore and admire it. I think Italy won not because they were better in skills or superior than Brazil, but, it is the genius work of Rossi who capitalised his three(3)opportunities to the fullest. True, and I have seen them all starting in 1968-1970 ... You can plainly see that back in the '50s the players' individual skills were clumsy because they had missed an entire generation of kids playing football due to WWII. This is the main cause leading to the supremacy of South American teams and even Hungarian players right after the war ended. Very few countries in Europe and the world afforded to keep their internal championships running during the war, and Hungary and Italy were just two of those select nations (if it weren't for the Superga disaster, who knows what the final configuration of World Cups 1950 and 1954 would have been !)
@@simonacinghita7719 You don't know what your talking about. Brazil lost a generation in WW2. And the other South American countries suffered too. Stop making you pathetic European excuses!
@@jamesstevenson7725 South American players kept on playing football from 1939 through 1945, not being at war as everybody else in Europe. Children in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina had the opportunity to whet their footballing skills unhindered by bombs or war terror, so when they reached maturity in 1950 - 1958 they were much better players than anyone else in Europe in their age group. "The Golden Horde" Hungary was an exception in Europe, their national championship was contested for the most part of WW2 up until 1944. Puskas and the gang had gained experience playing during the war while the German, English, French, Austrians and Italians were conscripted and dying in battle. Sweden's or Spain's footballers just the same. Could you ever imagine Sweden reaching third place in 1950 or the final against Brazil in 1958 had it not been neutral during WWII? It's history and common sense, man!
I think the part at the end when the Brazilians say that if they had beaten Italy and gone on to lift the trophy then world football would have copied their style of play is wrong. How could other teams copy a team with the combined talent of Zico and Socrates and Cerezo and Eder and Falcao and Leandro - impossible.
and yet they would've been a reference point, an aspiration, dictating the philosophy of football in the years thereafter. And I'm sayin this as an Italian who considers Italy-Brazil 1982 the greatest achievement of Italian football by a very, very strong Italian team.
@Alfa&Omega 00000 you dont get it because you are ignorant, the brasil team of 82 is the epitomy of how football should be played, millions all ovee the world young and older remember all those magnificent players because of the way they played, who remembers more than 3 or 4 players of the italian 82 squad? Only italians, the point is who played the most atractive football and not who won the game but you dont get it cause u are a donkey who probably never kicked a foorball!

Tenho 62 anos e a seleção de 82 foi a melhor que vi o Brasil mostrar ao mundo até hoje. Foi uma tragédia para a história do futebol aquele time ter tido uma tarde infeliz naquele jogo contra a Itália.
I was just 7 years old but I remember very well. I saw adults crying. The real football art that was normal in our culture. By the 90´s , started our declining in quality of football. Bad players, bad coaches. Coaches just worried about not losing in detriment of searching the victory. Good times .
This was the first World Cup that I watched aged 10 years. I remember watching Brazil play with my dad and I was in awe. The football they played was unbelievable and I couldn’t comprehend the fact they lost to Italy. How could that be fair? Brazil played beautiful football surely they couldn’t be beat! Even being born in England, I was in tears at the final whistle.
Toninho Cerezo's running off the ball and long range 1-2s.
It was a grave mistake Brazil had Serginho as their top striker. He fumbled & goofed many of Brazil's chances.....
They transcended the game to an art.
@@davidrobinson2776 transcended the game to an art without an artist......
Zico was shirt 10 and 9 at the same time, he gave assistance and was the top scorer. He scored 690 goals as a professional.
Brazil in 82 = Pure Poetry in Motion!

Love from Italy you mean. We beat them and trashed the Nazi in the final.

40 years have passed and I've still not seen a team knock the ball around as sweetly and smoothly as this one did. They scored so many wonder goals too. I was eleven years old but couldn't hold back the tears when they went out!

First badzil best team Is 1970 second 1976-1982
I was a 21 year old Englishman, football daft and when Brazil were naively knocked out of this fantastic Spanish held World Cup I cried my eyes out. That team was the most fantastic bunch of exciting talented footballers I’ve ever seen in my life.
You are EXACTLY my father's age.
And you both had the same reaction.
Greetings from Brazil!
And many good greetings to you also. Stay safe in these crazy times. Gordo.
It was one of the happiest days of my life when Rossi and company did the job which lead to Italy's world cup! LOL....Forza Italia!
So did I.
When Brazil hammered Scotland 4-1, I instantly became a Brazil fan, and have been ever since 😃 🏴🇧🇷
The Italians would have been Scotland too. Argentina, and Germany would have also easily beat Scotland. No big problem even to this day! LOL
Yes, Scotland is known for great sheep
England fans also instantly become Brazil fans after the 4.1 drubbing ❤

Maybe you haven't seen 1970 Brasil team. The all time best football team.
Today football is a game on autopilot. In 1982 this team played both rehearsed and spontaneous. They improvised when they had to. They PLAYED football.
and they lost. the only important thing is to Win. Italy won and were the champions! LOL

The media (TVs, newspapers, etc.) corrupt, lying and manipulative, does not deceive anyone else.

you have changed Football forever.....You set the new bar to the entire planet on a all new level..

2002 Brazil won our mind, 1982 Brazil won our heart❤️ Dr. Socrates is Missed🙏
This was the team that made me , as kid, fall not only in love with the much talked Brazilian dominance in futebol but also the aesthetic art they glossed on football made the sport famous across the world. Obrigado Brasil, a terra da criatividade

My favorite team of all time in football! As a young teenager I absolutely loved them in the 1982 World Cup, and heart broken when they didn’t win against Italia.
Some very interesting curiosities for the ones that don't know:
- Guardiola said that the Brazi'ls 1982 team was his inspiration to define his style of game. You can notice that a lot of the passes you see in the video are first touched, something we saw again in Guardiola's Barcelona. Definitely, something revolutionary for the time.
- Socrates was the first player to ever use the back heel pass intentionally (you can see a lot of "advanced for the time" passes in this video
- the LB of that team, was right footed - Junior. Of course, he also could use the left foot, but he always played on the left side
- the bench was as good as the starters. Players like Roberto Dinamite, Dirceu, Batista, Paulo Isidoro would constantly enter the games
- No team in the world is unanimous and this team had 2 players that the crowd and press did not trust entirely, such as the rest of the team - The GK Waldir Peres and the Striker Serginho.
It's also the first world cup I remember.

good insight mate but the backheel pass was used intentionally way before socrates.
Brazil V Italy in World Cup 82 was for me the best football match ever played. I was 14 years old and I watched this match with my late grandfather in Mexico. I still remember my grandpa and I were mesmerized for two hours and it’s a day I will never forget.

I am Malaysian.. Thank you to Brazil.. For the best performance n beautiful game all the times.. hope can continue in the future..
I was 10 and went to the stadium for the first time it was France- Brasil we(France) lost 3-1.

I was 15 and my father and me cried! I came across this video just now 2019 and still cried! 😢 what a team what beautiful memories!
you are not old my friend 👌
@Alfa&Omega 00000 sorry, but no. The worst team can beat a better one, it's football not basketball.
I share your pain .. I was 11 years young & this was & still is my favorite team of all times. My favorite was Ever... Sadly he was dropped in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico
It made me very happy when Brazil lost to the Italians....LOL.....and I'm still happy as an old Italian man! Forza Azzurri!
Yeah. My heros: Zico, Falcao, Oscar, Eder and the great Socrates - R.I.P !!!
Forever Cracks.!!
Eder, Cerezo, Luisinho and Paulo Isidoro were players from Atlético Mineiro, but the best player from Atlético Mineiro was not called, which was Reinaldo the best 9 in Brazil at the time was the level of Romario and Ronaldo and Careca but the injuries ended the his career, he was much better than Serginho. Here are his goals and dribbles: th-cam.com/video/zD1-IS5LpSU/w-d-xo.html
Best football I’ve seen in my 50 years, cried when they lost
Me too my friend.
@@perrynnlynch1883 I cried too (was 13 at the time) and lost interests in watching soccer for a while.
Viva Brazil 🇧🇷 1982. Me inspiró a jugar football juvenile! Para mí eran campeones!
It kills me to see how beautiful this sport was, when men played the beautiful game!
Man Zico was insanely good, he'd be worth 500million euros nowadays no cap
I have to agree. Great comment.
Very spectacular play from serginio, for the opponents
Unforgetable team, the last Brazilian team that entertained us with the best football you can see. It was very sad they lost against Italy who punished their defending weaknesses. Their Achilles heel. Would have been a winner to remember,36 years later we are still talking about that team.
Most beautiful football ever... EVER... it brings tears to my eyes.. honestly. Never again :( Greets from Croatia.
It broke my heart when this team lost to Italy I loved the way they played so much.
In that time, the italian team was really the best !!!
keep crying. Italy were the champions of the world and rightfully so. They beat Argentina, Brazil and Germany at one world cup!
@@ronbonora7872 Where do I say that Italy didn't deserve to win? They deserved to win I was just sad that Brazil didn't win because I liked the way they played. Why make such an assholish comment?
Italy in 1982 played off the charts in the elimination round
The team that made me love football, their play was joy to the eye
I clearly remember the play of that greatest brazilian team. They reversed game in the masterpiece of art. Old fans will always remember you - best team in the football history.
The greatest team I’ve ever seen play live. I recall watching this game as a school boy and was gutted that Brazil lost. Zico and Socrates two of the worlds best ever players
I was watching from college and was so happy the Italians shut up the pompus Brazilians!
He visto pocos equipos jugar asi , Brasil 70, Milan de los 90, y Barcelona 2009,pero Brasil del 82, es de un fútbol increiblemente bello.
As a Scottish 9 year old I fell in love with that team after they beat us 4-1
Italy would have been Scotland too. You can also through in Argentina and Germany to that group! Beating Scotland is not a great feat! Beating Italy, Argentina and Germany is a great feat! LOL
Most spectacular team ever with the most spectacular collection of goals scored ever in a world cup
Roberto Day but yet not champions
Italy is our costumer, you played us in two finals and lost. If we get to play another final, not in Russia cause Italy will fail to qualify . Maybe 2022 if you try and train harder,,,go eat your pasta
The goals were indeed of such a beauty It was like pure poetry , the chip of Eder , that stunning goal of IL Dottore and than for me the icing on the cake , the goal of Eder were Socrates flegmatic opened his legs and Eder lifts it before he scores... all goals are still in my memory when I close my eyes and it still makes me upset they didn’t win it all but they sure won the world with the joga bonito
Dr Socrates...the militant philosopher footballer
Corinthian Democracy ❤
Cachaceiro
Also totally unprofessionall alcoholic and smoker. Better then even Best in terms of wasted potential. Wow... And i am still his fun
Socrates, what a player, imagine him in this era 🙏
Socrates in this era would be baned from soccer for life because how unprofessionall he was. That all do not stop Me from loving him as player but he is one of players who would not be Able to be player in this era. Lets be realistic here.
This team will be remembered only second to the 1970 team as one of the greatest ever assembled by Brasil. Bitter sweet
I agree ...this is the most spectacular team I have ever seen till this very moment.
Best team I've ever watched in my life time - 45 yrs old. Got to be the best team that never won a world cup....better than most that did !
Brasil '82, a mi gusto: el mejor equipo de fútbol de toda la historia, pasada, presente y futura.
Brasil de 1970 foi melhor
Sin duda!
@@yosefmattiyyah2890 No.
For me still the best brazil I have ever seen ! They sadly didn’t win but the way they played lived Forever in football fans all over the world ! Even now 37 years later the world loves watching the beautiful game
E impossível para mim não segurar as lágrimas quando lembro dessa seleção de 82
Even so many years later, this 1982 Brazil team is still most beautiful to watch. The beautiful long passing game where players appear where the ball was passed! Beats tiki-teka any day.
Brazil’s best World Cup squads 1970 and 1982 , simply amazing x
1970 yes. 1982 Italy was the best as they beat Brazil, Argentina and Germany at one world cup!
The memory of the 1982 Brazilian world cup team still
The most beautiful football ever played.A fantastic team.
That was the most amazing team I remember. I was Just 4 years old, but, as a Flamengo, knew Zico, Junior, Leandro and many other players. Like, at that time, awesome players, went to Maracanã a lot of times to see them play. These times of great shows are lost. Like they said: "Nowadays the result is more important." They don't care about the show. I'm happy to have had the opportunity to see those guys playing ïn loco". They still amazing in our memories. Thank you. Obrigado Seleção de '82!
winning is the only thing that counts. Brazil could not defend and were beaten by the goal scorer Rossi! Italy beat Brazil, Argentina, Poland and Germany at one world cup! Forza Italia! The best team that I have ever seen was Brazil 1970. Pele is the greatest player of all time and his supporting cast were damn great too!
Best football team I ve seen in my life, the team showed skills, character and swagger.Satana was a great coach and the players especially Socrates and Zico were phenomenal.
I remember watching this game again and again, hoping that the result will be different. After 82 and 86 W Cup Brazil football was never the same.
Thank you for entertaining us
Best regards from Egypt ✌️
The two best teams are 1970 n 1982 teams. Phenomenal teams
1970 was better, it won. Pele and company were the best players ever, not 1982 who was beaten!
Bro, I would say that 1958 - 1962 still the best National team ever existed! They won 2 world cups and in a row, Pele, Garrincha, Jerzinho, Carlos Alberto and last not the least, Mario Zagallo! And the last greatest national team existed 2002 especially for Brazil! It’s facts. Let’s not forget Brazil 1994- Romario and Bebeto led the team to the 4th star for Brazil.
leonardimas1 1970’s final Brazil the most beautiful team work goal ever scored in any World Cup finals! And they beat Italy 4-1. In 1982 semi final’s, Italy beat Brazil 3-2 not 4 as you said!
@@hassanalkhawaher3161 The 62 team won without Pele also!!
Daniel Kelegian for real ? And can you tell me how did he won 3 world cups ?
A melhor Seleção brasileira da História. Verdadeiro Futebol Arte de alto nível.
Such an exciting, different team. I wish they were still like this today.
The unique thing about Brazil is when they lose, people still admire them as if they win the game. That's Brazil, the only Brazil.
In the last 20 years brazil are only good at diving, playacting and fouling. And help by the refs. Though not in 2018, when they were very good
@@davids2742 I agree, way over rated!
@@davids2742 The 2018 Brazil team were genuinely brilliant, and you could tell that when they really got into it Belgium were afraid and had to park the bus to get through. They got their comeuppance in the semis though.
I wonder what those 82 players would make of Neymar, wouldn't make the squad even.
@@davids2742 brazilians are the toughest, more talented and more easy going players in the world. And smart and aggressive
My favourite team of all time. I cried the day they lost to Italy (first and only time in a football match). Impossible to put into words what watching this team in full flight made you feel...
I could have written the same thing. Just like you, I cried for the first and last and ONLY time when watching a football match. This team was immortal.
When WC1982 is mentioned you just remember the Brazilian artists who snatched the hearts before the eyes of shocked spectators. That beautiful football circus overwhelmed any thing else including Italy's win of the cup.
Simplesmente a maior seleção brasileira de todos os tempos!! Aquele 05/07/82 foi é até hoje a minha maior tristeza no futebol!!!
The best team that never won

Ayrton Senna Fan haha . So true
Add Holland in 74
Along with the Hungarian team of 1954 starring Ferenc Puskás!
This it’s a football as art. It’s a beautiful football
This is the greatest Brazilian team I have ever seen.
Totally agree, it would have been the most spectacular..
@@simonacinghita7719 You don't know what your talking about. Brazil lost a generation in WW2. And the other South American countries suffered too. Stop making you pathetic European excuses!
@football team Did you even begin to understand what I was trying to point out here?
@Alfa&Omega 00000 you are the greatest wanker alive!
@Alfa&Omega 00000 go and watch how the great italian team of 82 went thtough the first round, with a goal difference instead o cameroon they scored 2 goals in 3 games, brasil scired 10 goals in the 1st round.you are total idiotic ignorant piss off!
