For as long as there has been humans there has been conflict over land. Land for hunting, land for farming and land for your families to live on. For Syria to claim that the Golan Hights has always been theirs and will always be theirs is pure hyperbole. If it's theirs then let them take it back, if they can't take it back then it was never theirs in the first place.

It is my opinion that the reason _is_ all that 'modern killing power', both because it makes armies more expensive to field (Shrinking their size) and because putting more firepower in the hands of a few better trained troops usually* works out better. Mostly the former reason in my view, better tech has made the gap between scratch militias and professional soldiers keep widening and so armies get more expensive per soldier and more capable per soldier. *Warning: Quantity has a quality all it's own, fighting an enemy who can vastly out number/produce you is virtually always a strategic loss no matter how many tactical victories you might win. It's kind of funny. Considering that the Israelis could have continued on to Bagdad and taken some more/all of Syria. And could have probably ended up with more of Egypt if they wanted. Over the years, the Syrian/Israeli conflict has gotten even more lopsided. Which is why it has become a conflict of proxies. As each side muscles up bigger bodyguards.

Something common man is missing, kind of heroism and fight for truth, gets attracted to these pieces of history. But wisdom tells me peace is not related to owning any country or location. Only peace is inside man, you never find until really sought. Some guys rather die for few metres than sacrificing their life for seeking peace. Even die again and again. If peace is related to one man idea, thats more likely he gets killed fool rather than letting him go murder whole world. Definitely clear many of those guys dying there find their peace, fulfilling their wishes. That words of Syrian veteran "No peace until they get back to Golan... Well, wishes usually fulfill ed by easiest way, so peace for that guy just let him die, God wont let him kill all humanity. I listened to many veterans of wars, some already made peace becoming friends with former enemy. I wish best all peaceful men. There is no peace in others guy house to get in uninvited. The best tank around today is the Israeli Merkava which has all the latest technology (shared with the US) and was built with protection of the people inside in mind. The engine is in the FRONT of the tank which gives an added layer of steel.
No one considers the Merkava the best and in fact many have been lost in battle with the deaths of tens of crewmen. The Challenger II is widely considered the best, with 1 never being destroyed as a result of enemy fire. The Abrams uses an earlier variant of the Challenger II's armour.

I wish there was louder background music to really destroy any interest in the documentary
The Syrians didn’t just stop out of incompetence. It was soviet doctrine to stop for resupply during darkness. Commanders had no say in this.
So just for fun, one of these tank commanders, Zvika Greengold, was brought in to clean up the city of Ofakim. Corruption and gangs being considered a cakewalk after holding off a Syrian brigade solo for 20 hours. :)
Sounds like a great guy! Thanks for the info, I will have to look him up! 😎

Americans don’t like to mention that the Centurion was a British tank.
The Americans bought hundreds of centurions. They were given to Israel, Denmark, Belgium under lendlease.
Many tanks were sold to Israel. British government wasn't going to sell them to Israel but would sell them to the US. The US sold Israel a lot of M48 that the Israel military remodeled to take the German designed 105.
@@haveraygunwilltravel The 105mm gun was a British design, later adopted by Germany and the US.

For as long as there has been humans there has been conflict over land. Land for hunting, land for farming and land for your families to live on. And in all that time there is one, and ONLY one, axiom that has held true. It goes like this: If you cannot hold your land from aggressors then that land was never yours to begin with. For Syria to claim that the Golan Hights has always been theirs and will always be theirs is pure hyperbole. If it's theirs then let them take it back, if they can't take it back then it was never theirs in the first place.
I wonder if your argumentation would also work for someone who steals at a store. „If it’s theirs let them take it back…“

"Roman Legions and auxiliary troops killed 100k Germanic Warriors . Along with their families etc that normally accompanied them in the baggage train. In a day or so! Using primitive weapons and tactics.
It's amazing that modern war has such few casualties. Given the effectiveness of modern killing power."
Yes, modern killing power. What an advance for humanity.
See: Imperial Japan vs United States of America, United States of America vs Confederate States of America and Leonidas's personal guard and Athenians vs Persian empire.

Sometimes being biased is a good thing. Like when it comes to hating actual Nazis that's a good bias.
I seem to recall a video saying that Israeli mothers wanted their sons to be deployed in the Centurion tanks as the safest & best tanks of the time.
What matters is not the tank but the quality of the fighter
Safest and best at the Israeli arsenal
Idk about other armies but in israel the tank crew is more important than the tank, that's why the merkava tank was designed the way it is

Those hundreds of millions if not billions, plus lives spent. Tanks that could have been tractors, lives that could have discovered so much more than just killing. @James P In basic training, there was a common saying " every private is a Chief of Staff " , meaning when push comes to shove, every IDF soldier will take command of the situation demands, no matter what their rank.
The Israeli military showed the world once again not only the quality of her troops, but also that superior numbers don’t guarantee victory.
46:22 Syrians promise to "get back the Golon Heights one day."

It's kind of funny. Considering that the Israelis could have continued on to Bagdad and taken some more/all of Syria. And could have probably ended up with more of Egypt if they wanted. Too bad the production of this documentary is removing other armed ressources, including infantry, artillery and air power. It looks like an isolated tanks battle, which it was not.
It's a documentary about a tank battle. not a war. they had to set the stage for the battle. It is mainly about a specific battle. Or did you not pay attention to the multiple references to greatest tank battles. Try reading first.
it is not a full war documentary... it is about tank battles, so it focuses on the tanks.... BTW, infantry did not play any role in the valley of tears.
Can you IMAGINE the carnage if Israel had 5 or 6 M22's.

Little did the syrians know the Israelis had disguised some of their tanks but in actuality were specialized anti-tank and anti-aircraft Javelin type system that was highly responsible for the majority of the Syrian tank deaths and it was also highly classified.
