The coupe is so much better looking, I think the shape is the main thing giving it it's good looks so it needs that roof on there. That gray colour is gorgeous as well
i like this kind of video on how you made it, if you get what i mean. I feel its different on how you usually make car review videos and i like the way you mounted your camera on the windscreen. Keep it up shmee i want more like this
Its been a full year now - watching yours and others supercar channels - and now its finally happening : Im stepping into the game with a 2015 British Race Green Jaguar F-Type R with just 1400 miles on it! Taking delivery in two weeks from now :) its my first supersportscar - and Im high just thinking about it! See you on the tarmac! Cheers / Peter
@@primitiv114 haha good to hear. The rwd V8 is totally the one to go for too! I'm looking at them now, I have a 981 cayman gts currently but the Jag is tempting!
Thanks for another great video Shmee! Both cars are gorgeous, but the hardtop R in that color...wow. Beautiful machine. In that grey color it's like a monster dressed up in a nice business suit. Jaguar knocked it out of the park (US expression; It means very, if not perfectly, done.) with the F-Type. After 30 years in the aerospace biz, I've recently started accumulating a lot of money by various means to treat myself to a nice machine, and 300k US is my cap. The F-Type R hardtop has made that decision harder. It's now a fourth contender. The other three are: 1. A certified pre-owned Merc SLS AMG customized in-house by AMG. Basically the gorgeous lines of a "regular" SLS AMG but with all the Black Series go fast parts underneath the body work. I called AMG and they said they could do it and it would be in fact one of their easier custom jobs because apparently they've been making some pretty wild creations for Sheiks and such in places like Dubai. So the clean looks of an SLS AMG gullwing door car, which is an almost perfect modern day interpretation of the 300SL gullwing door cars of the '50s, but with the drivetrain, backbone, exhaust, etc. of a Black Series. I wouldn't want any of the aero stuff, especially that boy racer fixed mini GT3 rear wing. 2. A new 911 GT3 3. A BMW i8 And now there are four. A hardtop F-Type R in black, white, or that grey color with a red interior. I'm really leaning towards an i8 so I can have my driving cake and eat it in a green way too, and it looks like something from 25 years from now and has amazing power figures for what it's packing, low emissions, and low 0-60 times and the 1/4 mile in the 12s (source: Motor Trend; 3.8 to 60, 12.something in the 1/4). And I don't think I'll ever tire of opening those clamshell doors. I'll be test driving one soon because they're finally arriving, so I'll see how that goes. I've test driven a friends new GT3 and it was amazing. And the SLS is, well, an SLS! But now there is the F-Type R that has seriously become one of the contenders. We'll see.
Nice video man, i met you testing these cars on saturday atop the snake. We were in a black camaro ss. The exhaust note of the v6 sounds just as good on youtube as in person.
I couldn't allow myself to say no to either of these. That said, I would go with the coupe. I'd take an F-Type S coupe in British Racing Green with the dark blade wheels and the carbon fiber roof. Please and thank you!
Chad Pendleberry It's very true, this bit is far too congested, and tight, but I think that made it interesting by using a stretch that requires a nimble car to get through.
The noise is all real, but Jag engineered the engine to have a little more overrun than would normally occur. It resulted in the best sound in the industry.......
i have driven both engines and versions... the convertible was waaaaay more fun to drive and the visibility, feeling and experience is better in every way. i also think it looks better, especially if you choose salsa red or sandfire orange...
Never owning anything but a Honda hatchback and being only eighteen I wouldn't be of much help , but I would choose the Jaguar over the Porsche as Porsche's don't seem to turn heads. They have always be understated by those outside the car world and to some car enthusiast, they see them as the car that's tied to a grumpy businessman or spoiler rich girl, either way mindless drones who lack emotion or drama similar to the vibe given off by that of a Porsche. While that being said they are surprising performance contenders and will surprise you with great handling and lap times. The jaguar on the other hand harks back to the image of the E-type and what it embodied then, it has the drama, the character and the general feel of something much more grand. It also handles its self well on a performance level but I don't think it's as purpose built as the Cayman. So that being said I believe, in my opinion you should buy karmann ghia.
Wow are u that rich my first car was a 1999 Toyota corolla that I got for $900 but now I drive a Subaru brz and still dreaming of a jag, but seriously if go for the ftype both the Porsche and jag are awesome tho
Brian Acuesta it's okay. But here in the Kuwait this is normal. In fact cheap if you buy a jag. It's amazing how different societies collide. Just thankful to be born in such a place.
Am I the only one who thinks this sound a touch like a Nissan GT-R with a aftermarket titanium exhaust? maybe not exactly but a touch better with snap and crackles.
Jag had there period of ti e were there cars were absolutely ugly and shit. Now there comming back and the stuff there producing now is on par with there old classics. These cars are just stunning. Shmee you should get one of these for mrs shmee lol.
Dan Troy Of course, there are people who drive like morons around! One of the beauties of these cars though is how you can have fun at sensible speeds, which is something that the performance on tap with some of the latest and greatest is becoming harder and harder.
Think I'm the only person who prefers the convertible for looks?
I just prefer the back end the way the lights and wings just flow into each other 😍
I have the convertible the coupe looks better but with the top down convertible may look better.
The coupe is so much better looking, I think the shape is the main thing giving it it's good looks so it needs that roof on there. That gray colour is gorgeous as well
Facts but with super tinted windows the convertible looks a lot better than it does here
Crackling and popping its way to one of the best sounds in the automotive world!
Ryan Vasquez Oh yes, both are amazing, Jaguar nailed it.
I am the guy with the Camaro that saw you, awesome channel bro!
I would go for the V6 S!
Dat crackle.
I'd go for the coupe over the convertible but I wouldn't say no to either.
I bet the 12C will sound almost quiet now :c
i like this kind of video on how you made it, if you get what i mean. I feel its different on how you usually make car review videos and i like the way you mounted your camera on the windscreen. Keep it up shmee i want more like this
i love the center exhaust on the v6 cars. wish the v8 had the same.
i think the v8 version has a much nicer diffuser which makes the car look more aggressive...
When Ford owned jaguar, it was horrible but now that TATA took over, all the jags are beautiful and even land rover looks soo good too.
Jes sen american companies arent as passionate since the 80's
Thank the Indians
The F-Type R looks great in that colour, if the alloys were smoked black it would look awesome, cheer's Shmee great video.
I think black is the colour for these cars.
Perfect ending with that wheelie
Agreed

How did you get on with it?!
@@Chris-nj1mr Ive had it for +2 years now and I can tell you that every second in that car is the best second 😃

that f type r coupe. Oh My God. My dreams are made of this stuff !
They sound so good!
Even the V6 version feels so much more exotic and special than BMW M4.
@Ian TB yes, it does
"pretty windy up here now" 8:00 bike pulls a wheel stand... smashes into the two Jags, Tims video goes viral :D
Nice video Shmee150. I'll be going to San Fran in the spring, can't wait.
awesome video and awesome review there shmee!

My dream car, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe
V6 isn’t so little - Nob ! I raced both the v8 and the v6 and to be honest the v6 handled way better then the heavy v8.
I could listen to those cars over and over again. Wonderful. A tank full in a 100 miles though....ouch 😄
Nice video man, i met you testing these cars on saturday atop the snake. We were in a black camaro ss. The exhaust note of the v6 sounds just as good on youtube as in person.
snakehead324 Of course, your car was pretty loud itself!
I wonder if RNickeyMouse was there? You might appear on his channel in a few weeks.
I think I left my hat in your f-type. Mind if I borrow the keys just for a second...

Enjoyed the video
I would love to see the F-type R vs the Gallardo LP550-2.
Ian TB stfu pussy the Gallardo is a luxury exotic that has plenty of class and bling just to flex !
Great video, have you driven the new corvette yet? I heard it was actually phenomenal.
Nice video !!!
I hope he buys the R coupe as his next shmeemobile
Will you ever come to Saudi Arabia to test some cars?
Never got the appeal of that section of Mulholland. There's so many more fun roads (with minimal traffic) like Yerba Buena, Piuma, Latigo Canyon
Chad Pendleberry It's very true, this bit is far too congested, and tight, but I think that made it interesting by using a stretch that requires a nimble car to get through.
Shhhh, let the tourists keep going to the Snake. The rest of us can have fun on the numerous other canyon roads with far far less traffic.
Maybe you should sell your shmee wheeler and a jaguar F-type coupè
Tim do u own a Lincoln limo
silvia oey Haha no, why do you ask that?
Shmee how do you get access to all these vehicles ?
Rent shop
southendrul I rented the V6 S for my time out here, but the R is a short loan car from Jaguar
my dream car inshallah is the orange v6s
I'll take the V8, the V6 sounds too synthetic to me... And the lines of the coupe are so much more sexy!
but the convertible is a lot more fun and enjoyable
Next Bond car?
I think either one of these cars should be a bond car.
This is probably a stupid question but what do you mean by the v6's engine sound is a little artificial?
The noise is all real, but Jag engineered the engine to have a little more overrun than would normally occur. It resulted in the best sound in the industry.......
The R and the S use the same size block, there is very little weight difference.
The R is 150KG heavier.
I've driven both and chose the S. In the real world it's faster.
@@knowcoiner533 hey can you explain why the s is better I’m drawn between the two at the moment.
I'm stuck, should I get a convertible v6s or coupe v6s 😖??
i have driven both engines and versions... the convertible was waaaaay more fun to drive and the visibility, feeling and experience is better in every way. i also think it looks better, especially if you choose salsa red or sandfire orange...
Abraham Ali I'd think that has to depend on you and your requirements, the one thing I can tell you is that you won't regret either!
Hey guys as a first car, what should I get, Cayman GTS or Jaguar F-type. Really debating between the 2.
Never owning anything but a Honda hatchback and being only eighteen I wouldn't be of much help , but I would choose the Jaguar over the Porsche as Porsche's don't seem to turn heads. They have always be understated by those outside the car world and to some car enthusiast, they see them as the car that's tied to a grumpy businessman or spoiler rich girl, either way mindless drones who lack emotion or drama similar to the vibe given off by that of a Porsche. you have to feel the cayman's handling it will blow your mind even compared to supercars and it can hold up decently in acceleration now
Jeffrey Formeister Yeah, I'm also thinking of considering the GT4 as my first car.

The coupe kind of reminds me of the E-Type :P
That's what they intended
Shmee150 what configuration would you have the Ftype?
Joshua Thompson F-Type R Convertible I guess!
Shmee150
Yeah but remember you live in the UK ;)
Dangerous curve?
F-Type R please.

jaguars were never ugly...
Reply if you think Shmee should be a TopGear presenter!
Only if he will review an American car while he in America.
i like the v6 S, lighter more pops
So then shmee Jag or you Maclaren ?
Looks= McLaren - Sounds= definitely Jaguar. Depends on what you like most.
Lad, be careful with the CHP there, they hang around a lot in that area.
Dan Troy Of course, there are people who drive like morons around! One of the beauties of these cars though is how you can have fun at sensible speeds, which is something that the performance on tap with some of the latest and greatest is becoming harder and harder.
Eat some delicious Mexican tacos also nice video
bikers GET ON MY NERVES

i better have a bike than a ftype
