- Thanks for watching our roll collecting highlight video! Do you have any coin rolls in your collection?
Please note: the 2012 red poppy rolls which were produced by the RAM were plain packaging rolls which is how they were distributed to the RSLs. There are also rolls produced by Cotton and Co who are a highly reputable company who take uncirculated coins and roll them privately for collectors in rolls which also have hologram stickers.
For a wide range of coins, banknotes and collectables, come on down to www.ThompsonsCoins.com
I think the curiosity would get better of me and I’d be tempted to open the rolls🙏. Sorry hard core stackers 🙏.
Thanks for your enthusiasm and sharing 🙆♂️.
Thanks for watching Jamie! There is actually something very satisfying about cracking open a brand new roll too hahahaha the coins always look so nice and shiny!
There are already enough cool things to collect , the Australian mint would sell there farts in jars and people would lap it up 😂
An interesting perspective for sure Kayne 😵💫 roll collecting isn't a brand new concept though, although it's certainly grown exponentially in recent times!
Premium Rolls will always be more attractable for sale and future gains.
I think you're right! Thanks for watching 😊
Cool 🆒 thanks 🙏
🎤⚡️ It's a long way to the RAM if you want a Head/Tail roll! ⚡️
It's nice to see a comment where I can actually hear the song as I read it 🤣 thanks for watching!
Great video as usual, lots of brilliant information 👍
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words 😊😊
Thanks for the info! I wasn’t interested in these rolls the mint was shipping out. I thought to myself, why on earth would I pay more than face value for regular $1 and $2 coins? Haha I guess I’ve just never understood roll collecting.🤷🏻♂️ More power to others…I prefer seeing a coin in all its glory without hiding most of them in a covered tube!
Well they are all uncirculated coins. You could break the roll and sell them off individually if you wanted to.
I suppose. I'm also a value-holder when it comes to collecting though and I wouldn't want to devalue them by doing that though.@@peecee1384
It's definitely important to consider WHY you're buying anything in this industry, if you're simply following the crowd there's much less chance you'll get a great deal of fulfilment from your collection! 😊 Thanks for watching!
That was a great informative video as always! Great channel.
Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it! 😊😊🥳
Hope you’re having a good day matt!!!!
Thanks for watching! It's always a great day when I get to chat about coins!! 🥳
"Thompson's Groceries & Dairy Products" (Picture - bottom left). Was that a family business back in the day?🤔
It was indeed!! My great grandfather built it in 1926, my Dad found the image in storage and gave it to me for a bit of inspiration 😊
@@ThompsonsCoins Awesome 👍
You're on a roll!
Hahahaha this comment has made my day 🤣
Storage wise I would say cool dry place and lay them on their side because the lip on each end after a while will get loose and could open up your roll. I’ve found a showbox or draw is perfect
Do you mean a "shoebox" or "drawer"?
Absolutely!! A very wise call, I've seen a few rolls with dodgy ends as a result of improper storage 👍👍
Thanks for giving the Heads Up.🪙
Hahaha I love the puns! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Well there we go
Thanks for watching 😊
I got 10 conseutive No 1 dollar notes when they changed too the coins , But I brought some thing with them when i was short of Money LOL
Nice one Bryan! I'd be more concerned if they were first prefix 1966 $1 notes but the 1982 notes are very common so you probably/hopefully didn't lose too much potential value!
I was thinking in sympathy to King Charles maybe instead of the heads tails rolls.
I been thinking, because of speculation his reign maybe reasonably short.
Perhaps we remember them as the heads & nuts Rolls.😅
Question: The 2023 King Charles $1 rolls that were released last year and at times available at banks. Were they rolled by RAM ? I heard two different versions
Ohh great question! I imagine they were rolled by the RAM but I'd have to double check the packaging but you might be right! 😊
2022 10cent. Security roll $16.95 while RAM rolls $99.00. Be careful and look for the hologram sticker and Mint writing on wrapping. Not Armaguard or Prosegur.
How about a premium buttered roll! Sorry...tummy is rumbling. Do you think the roll premium was created as another way to make money for the mint or do you think numismatic demand caused the change where the offered the heads/tales options?
If you couldn’t get except the non premium rolls, you may think to re-roll them which will not be a RAM rolling paper, but it will be heads/Tails and you will get a hologram. Second best in my opinion
How much would that cost, per roll? 🤔
I think it is about $15/roll
I think it is about $15/roll
Thanks for watching! I think that's a great idea! 😊
How many are in a roll? Justs says 50c, 50$ Could you just look at the non-premium to see if head.tail?
If you're buying them online- you wouldn't know what you'd get
I was wondering why I was seeing both -
Thanks for watching! 😊
I thought they were to dear for me.
Thanks for watching Wisey! Always good to weigh up how much you value something rather than just diving in! 👍👍
or is it Tails Up.
The price difference of $5 between the rolls is too low to make the non-premium rolls attractive, I think. Plus the hologram makes the premium rolls a little more "official".
I suspect the appeal of the non premium rolls is for keen collectors who are unable to get their hands on the premium rolls but still want to build up their collection 🤓 thanks for watching!
$5 premium is worth it so you can see the year and tails design.
PS you have changed your background.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching and noticing! I am fiddling around with my camera setup but I'm still not completely happy with it all! 😊
@@ThompsonsCoins I’m not picking on you when I say this.
It’s a bit all over the place and apart from your Thompson coins sign nothing stands out as coin related. Your other back drop had coins etc.
You’ll get there 👍🏻
@@sticustom I totally agree! I've got some clever ideas for the future but It'll take me a little while to get myself organised 🤣 I do appreciate the feedback too!
@@ThompsonsCoins I have no doubt it will be good. 👍🏻
This ballot system isn't exactly great, is it? Five separate ballots, with (not inexpensive) postage associated with each. Almost makes buying one coin uneconomic, in my opinion.
Very very good good questions seriously hope you give me an answer, got you by accident by the way, why the heck would you keep a two dollar or a $1 wrapped in paper of coins,I rather spend it, its totally ridiculous😂😂 it is worth nothing in draws,in the long run that is really worth nothing zilch, funny funny😂😂
A roll of 2013 Purple $2 coins ($50 worth) sells for up to $4,000.00. Does that answer your question?
Thanks for watching! If this stresses you out, you should watch the video on a 1930 Penny which I sold for $40,000 🤣🤣
