@@jan-yngvebohlin5980 You step on the pedal, play however many bars of chords or whatever, step on the pedal again, and it repeats what you played over and over until you turn it off. Then you can play other things over the loop. Hard to master, but allows you to make more music by yourself or even in the context of a band setting.
It's a shame some of the commenters seem to be completely unaware of going for a vibe and walking on the high wire, vs perfectly curated studio tone. This was supposed to be noisy, dynamic, and a bit of fun self indulgence, another exploration of this song. Don't try Crimson or XTC- you might get scared.
Sorry Mr Costello but I didn't enjoy this at all apart from the vocals. Terrible acoustics at the venue, made it sound as there were too many guitars on the stage!
It's perfect. You forget where Declan came from. His father was a big band leader and Elvis himself was in and around the early punk/new wave scene when it mattered. Technically he's not brilliant, but there's more layers to him than other more polished artists. His songwriting alone elevates him.
What a guitarist 🎸 😮😮😮😊😊
He dug deep into the young man in himself to remind us of the creativity the world is missing today, He did so even though he didn't have to.
Get me a loop pedal 😊😊😊😊
❤ taking the sample down just a couple bbs would have nailed it.
Always brilliant, always underrated. One of the best for sure.
Great solo performance. Just a voice and an electric guitar - Perfection!.
It looks like it´s overdubbed..he sometimes has no hands on the guitar, but maybe his doing somethinhg with the pedals??
@@jan-yngvebohlin5980 He's using a looper pedal. You record, then play over it.
@@ExplodingPsyche Okay..thanx :) I don´t know how it works,but has he recoreded that before the concert,or..??

@@ExplodingPsyche Okay..Thanx for info.. :) Interesting :)
Saw this tour when I was 21 or 22 and it was and is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
It's funny how I can watch 100 Elvis Costello performances and the next one is always better than the last.
I think it's his ability to always make the performance relavent, reimagining his own songs - a true talent.
..but I totally agree.
Great song from elvis magic guitar 🎼🎼🎼🎼👍👍
That was captivating.
My only comment to the haters is, what have you done that I'd want to watch, of any activity at all (doesn't have to be music)?
What a GENIUS!
Great song great music 😎😎
Ah yes, sonic youth! I couldn't remember that yesterday but here it is.
Very Very Beautiful 🎼🎵🎶🎙️🎸
The original Ed Sheeran, master piece, lyrical genius
This performance freaked out all the gearheads
