A character guide to Thomson and Thompson (Dupond et Dupont): Identical detectives forever reaching the wrong conclusions. They also fall over. To be precise: A lot.

To be precise: this is a great video.

You forgot one appearance. In Asterix in Belgium They showed up to inform the protagonists that Julius Caesar has arrived in Belgium.

They are my two favourite characters from the franchise. Thanks for making this video, I would never have gotten into Tintin if it hadn’t been for you.
Imagine if they got their own spinoff series.
You know, I love the affinity you have for these characters. I grew up watching the 90s show on Nickelodeon and loving, readily buying the DVD set of the series when they made it available. Thomson and Thompson always made me laugh and I felt a little disappointed they really didn't join in that much in the movie. I was also so used to their 90s voices, it felt weird to hear them with different actors.

It seems that another character Thomson and Thompson seems to have similar traits to is Inspector Fix from 'Around the World in Eighty Days'. Serious but also mistaken (like the novel) and a bumbling accident-prone buffoon (like the disney movie)

Don't know how I haven't found your channel before now.
The 1969 animated film Tintin and the Temple of the Sun extends their role from the comic book by having them accompany Tintin and Haddock on the mountains and among the Incas. They even have their own musical leitmotif in that film. Also, 16:50 is clearly set on the Antarctica (there are no penguins in the North Pole or the Arctic).
To me I think these would make a good Scooby doo character in Scooby doo movies with is a scooby doo crossover with some other characters like batman robin the three stooge's and more and a bit of Scooby doo guess who

I feel like Thomson and Thomson would fit right in in the detective Conan series to bad there was there a cross over with these two series .

How come did you not review Tintin and the Lake of Sharks? Considering the Thompsons are main characters in the film.
That has occurred to me too recently. I completely forgot to talk about The Lake of Sharks movie, which is odd as it is one of my favourite Tintin adventures.

Is TinTin set in the Victorian era? I need to know if a TinTin and Professor Layton crossover is plausible
It takes place in Belgium between the 1930s and 1960s.
Jeffrey Kitsch so there's no logical way the two franchises can crossover unless they use the time machine from The Unwound Future
Layton takes place in modern day as confirmed by the Phoenix Write crossover
@@mrcritical6751 sometimes when you see London portrayed by a foreign country it looks like nothing has changed since the Victorian era also I think they were having creative liberties with the two games in order to make a story that doesn't involve time travel

But yes Schulz and Schultze are great. Not the Best, because Haddock and the Professor exist, but still.

It keeps getting delayed. Every year Jackson/Spielberg says "I'll start working on it as soon as I've finished this other movie".
I gave negative comments about it in this video but having re-watched the film a few times since then I do think it is a decent film and any criticisms I have of it are just nit-picks.
@@JeffreyKitschWhen you mentioned that John Stocker voiced one of the Tomsons, also voiced Toad in "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show", now I'm just imagining you doing a "Character Chronicles" episode on Toad in that show. That or King Bowser Koopa. Or Mouser since he's only in a handful of episodes.
