    I’m really curious about the setup. How you’ve arranged the workspace.

    Man, I gotta be honest, at the beginning of this video I had some serious doubts. Thank god I kept watching, you kicked some serious ass here. Well done. I was totally grooving out to it. Really dug how you built upon a simple loop and made it shine.

      @@looseleafjournal I'm stubborn and like to go against the grain (so no Ableton), so I am trying to take a crack at MainStage in an effort to get a live show going. I thought it would be straightforward as I am a logic user, but man, its a bit daunting. But this video was inspiring, thank you!

    • @looseleafjournal
      @looseleafjournal  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan Tremblay honestly, Ableton is probably a better solution but I agree. I enjoy the workflow, controls and instruments in mainstage so much more. If I was going to perform live though, I’d probably look into a abelton/rewire solution.

      @@kaspartambur Mainstage doesn't have a built-in timeline and would be severely limited. Rewire with Logic or Ableton is best bet.

    Amazing Sound!!! How do you quantize any sound with loopback in Mainstage. I can't manage it. Any help would be appreciated!

    • @jedimindtrix2142
      @jedimindtrix2142 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Logic Pro X has automatic audio stretching to essentially quantize anything with the beat. Im assuming the same engine is running in mainstage.

      I was also paying attention if whether I was getting used to the human mistakes or it started to quantize the more he played each part.

      Hi Joshua! For me the most helpful would be understanding how you set up Mainstage for the live performance. What are all the buttons, faders, etc. doing, how it's configured to use your midi controller. I was able to replicate bits of your setup, but as a whole...

Similar to Infected Mushroom, Skazi, 1200 micrograms, etc. Ill sub to ya here and get your info. Maybe we could work together on somethin. Hey , could you point me towards some resources that helped you in your learning process? Im trying to understand, are you toggling through different loopbacks for each instrument that are routed to midi faders? Im amazed at your control. With this method, would it be possible to play all drum elements on a drum pad simultaneously while still recording individual loops which can then be faded? Any help would be great

    • @looseleafjournal
      @looseleafjournal  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sorry I took so long to respond! I didn’t even notice people had watched this video! Ha. Almost everything has been self taught as far as Mainstage goes. For this session I built placed multiple instances of the Loopback plugin on the session layer on Aux strips. I then made a bunch of different patches and routed them each into one of those Loopback Auxes instead of the main output. I then put midi control of the volume to faders in my keyboard and arming of the Loopback plug in drum pads on my keyboard. Keys and Drum sounds at Mainstage sounds and the guitar is a Helix Native plugin. I know that’s a lot but I hope that answered your question. Thanks for watching!

    • @looseleafjournal
      @looseleafjournal  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And yes to the drum pad question. It’s all about planning ahead with routing though. You’d have to have an idea of how you wanted to do that.
