Thank you so much for this tutorial! Just truly was a blessing! When i make the playback changels and i import the music tracks they all show the correct tempo. However when i go to press "sync" it routes the time signature to 120? Any thoughts on why that would be the case?
Hello, good tutorial! Do you have any ideas on how to get that delay removed when jumping around markers? I love mainstage but this is a major issue that bugs me. Ableton doesn't have the delay but you can't really jump around markers so that's why I stayed with mainstage.
I saw that you set playback to stereo. Do you have to split your click track left and your instrument tracks right? How do I fire this track and not allow the congregation to hear my click and guides?
Hi, as a guitarist you miss a multifile player which everyone on the concert level Playbacks with MIDI controller operation can play. The player is available as a third-party plugin. (midi-audio-liveplayer.com) The volume of each of the 128 playbacks can be adjusted separately. Videos and MIDI files can also be played for other control tasks. Greeting
When i play multitracks in Playback(CAF file), I connect it with patch list. cause i want to know where am i in the song while playing the tracks, and can jump to other section easily. but i noticed that patch list doen’t follow the playback marker. when i press start in playback, it doesn’t move to intro section. it just stay calm. is that MainStage 3.3 problem? or are you guy fine with that?
Okay so a couple of things. First off, when you are bouncing all of these tracks individually, are you putting the track that you want in solo mode so that you don't bounce the other tracks from the project? For tracks that have a small section, like maybe a mid-part solo, how are you getting them to square up with another track that say takes up the entire song. I can't see your project wav files so I don't know if you record differently than me, but a lot of my tracks are electric guitar or voice, so I only record them for the parts I need so I don't get extra noise. For example my guitar solo may be 30 seconds long and start on bar 19. When I follow the instructions from the video and drop it into playback, even though the solo starts on 19, it thinks the solo's first bar should be in line with another tracks first bar wherever that exists within the song. Again, you don't show how your project looks in standard view so I'm a little lost. Obviously, I could just bounce my project as I have always done, but then I won't be able to control the separate tracks in MainStage like I can in Logic. Help, please.
Great questions. I'm also curious why not just do a bounce of all the instruments to a single wav, so he only has to import 1 track/file into Mainstage? Assuming they're all routing to the same outputs or bus anyway...
Jeff, thanks. Very helpful. I have been trying some stuff as well. Question you might be able to help me with; I tried having one set with several patch, each of them for different songs. Turns out only the last song was played though all the patches. Working with a set for each patch worked, but that really clutters the GUI. Any idea if it is possible and what might have gone wrong?
I absolutely loved your tutorial. Will you help me with one specific thing? My interface has 8 outputs. Can I use each of them separately like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 or do I have to do them as 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8? Because that means I really only have FOUR outputs, ONE for click, and THREE for stems. I would love to have more. Please help, thanks a ton!
I think that if you pan a track all the way to the right for example, that's on the 1-2 output, then it'll be as if you are only using de "2" out of the "1-2" output
Hi... we play in a trio format and would like to have keys using mainstage... do you know if is it possible to send the multitrack of mainstage our on different channels? I ask because we all use IEM and each one of us would like to have a different mix, especially when it comes to the volume of the metronome, so we would like to send the different tracks to different channels of our mixer... is it possible? Thanks in advance for your help
Easily. Each channel strip is sent to 'main'-out as a default, but holding down the select button will open your options and if you have an audio interface with 4 output, you can choose to send FOH-mix to 1-2 and then assign the click to 3-4 thus getting the flexibility to change the volumes separately.
Sure is, and it helps to create aux tracks (easier if you make them mono as it uses less channels) at the concert level that each stem sends to and then assign each backing track to those aux sends. then route those concert level aux to individual inputs on your mixer..Example... bass stem in patch routes to bass chan aux at concert lvl then outputs to chan 1. Backing vocal stem routes to concert level bvox (aux), and then outputs to chan 2 on mixer etc... I assume you're using USB to an xr-18 type mixer, or even if you're using a multi chan interface and then xlr to mixer.. it should work. I have my system setup like this and it works great.
Hi there! I have a question (maybe 2! :P): When you have the all setlist done and you want to switch from one track to the next one during a show and also have start/stop button, how would you do that? And 2nd question: Is there any foot-switch that does this job of changing/start/stopping the song, that you would suggest? Many thanks!
@@antkneealexander2439 Not yet unfortunately! Someone suggested boss foot switch pedals but still I have not found a video that explain how to map them to either mainstage or ableton.
Sara De Santis as far as i know keyboard controller i mean some midi keyboard has start stop panel to use foot switch to control start stop.for my self i am sorting this and will upload the video plz keep in touch with my youtube and soon will send you the answer how you will switch one track to another...do u want to switch one to another while playing track during live performance?
Behringer midi foot controller would do the job easily. at concert level, map a couple foot pads to patch select up and down, and a couple to start and stop. how to map.. again make sure that you're at concert level so the effect will be global and not for just one patch or set.. after connecting the controller to your rig, verify it is receiving midi by tapping a few pedals and observing the top center midi window to verify mainstage sees the controller. from the edit screen highlight/select the button you want to map to..... click the assign/map button in the top right of the screen ..it will turn red. click the pedal you want to assign to then click the assign/map button again so it is no longer red.. you have just mapped your midi controller to an on screen control. repeat as necessary for any other controls you may want to map.

If you notice he has the output of the click track set to "Out 3-4". The rest of the channel strips are "Out 1-2" That's how you do it.
Awesome thank you

Yes. You can do it however you like. You can make some things mono (like click) and leave other things stereo too.

Jeff, my CAF file isn't importing the correct BPM. It's a 130 BPM track and it's showing 29.9?
