HEVC file is transcoded to VP9, DTS 5.1 audio stream is downmixed to AAC 2.0 you have to use ffmpeg and add AAC 5.1 to file manually before uploading to youtube Update 04/18/2024: TH-cam is converting DTS 5.1 or AAC 5.1 to DDP 5.1 (Dolby Digital Plus)
Can confirm this, atleast on Xbox Series X (where you can allow passthrough audio from apps which effectively overrides your selection in the system settings and the 5.1 surround-option appears on youtube. However, Using toslink from my LG C2 TV set to passthrough audio and bypass processing, and without enabling passthrough in the Xbox settings, AC3 appears. Strange, because EC-3 is soft-blocking toslink by design even if it's possible in terms of bandwidth for 5.1 content. I have tested 1 HDMI splitter with audio extraction through toslink, SteelSeries GameDAC and Arctis Pro Wireless transmitter station which both require AC3 5.1 input (to be able to call it DTS Headphone:X v2.0/7.1), so, I guess the best bet is to add a downmixed DTS file into AC3, and add that as track 2 before uploading. I have also tried "tricking" the youtube app on xbox, and if I disable "Let my decoder decode audio" under Blu-Ray settings, then return to the video which I paused, right before "Opus" shows, AC3 can be seen at 328kbps before switching to EC-3.
Dolby Pro Logic II (audio matrixing technology) is supported on PC and TV it's encoding 5.1 surround into 2.0 by manipulating phase and gain of signals AAC 5.1 (actual discrete 5.1) is supported only on TVs that are connected to AVR with HDMI eARC DTS 5.1 and/or Dolby 5.1 is not supported because it needs licensing Update 04/18/2024: TH-cam is converting DTS 5.1 or AAC 5.1 to DDP 5.1 (Dolby Digital Plus)
No surround sound? Haha I can have surround sound in any stereo sound because I use an ADB app that let me configure the sound the way I want, 5.1, 7.1, ultra realistic surround, immersion from different ambiences and so on. That's why I love Android
TH-cam does not support 5.1. It's stereo only. If you experience surround sound, that's because your TV/receiver is "faking" a surround sound signal, by automatically stretching stereo to all speakers. This video is fake.
Teeeeeechnically TH-cam does support true surround sound if your video is encoded in Dolby ProLogic and your receiver supports that. Most home theater receivers support ProLogic.
@@trevorriches136 Pro Logic is not an audio format but an upmixing mode, which falls into the same category of the "faking surround sound" that I talked about in my OP comment^^ I know the mode you talk about and it sounds terrible on my Denon setup. Simply because it fails to properly upmix stereo sound. Voices are usually hoarse and terribly high and sound "stretched" on the center, background music/soundtrack is badly mixed on the side speakers and has the wrong loudness, and bass is nearly not existent. TH-cam does not support true surround sound, in any way. It's a shame. 7.1 or Dolby Atmos sound could elevate especially gaming videos so much.
@@Morgrain ProLogic is an audio mixing mode, and when implemented right it can sound just as good a as a native 5.1 mix. Most stereo recordings are made for stereo setups. Files rendered with Dolby ProLogic in mind are a completely different thing altogether. It is still a stereo recording though. You’re right, TH-cam doesn’t support native 5.1. But PL can sound incredible when it’s mixed properly.
This is properly created video that has 5.1 AAC audio track you just have to use HDMI eARC on TV to send 6 digital channels, SPDIF support 2 channels or compressed DTS or Dolby format that cannot be delivered by TH-cam because of storage and licensing fees
Not the same without witnessing the expanding aspect ratio of the IMAX screen in the cinema.

And then the TH-cam compression just destroys all the hard work. :(

AC3 does not need licensing at all. EC-3 does.
Do you have DCP versions of any IMAX Pre-Show Trailers?
Well DCPs are encrypted so you need a special key that's delivered using "Portals" in cinema projection room

The charming geek, can you please tell me, what is the name of the movie at the 0:26 seconds of this video?
Thank you so much!
it’s not a scene of a movie, just a scene made by IMAX.
This is a compressd video?
El mejor 5.1
Nice
I want to know the source of the video
Is it an IMAX original video?
yeah, they showed it in imax.
これや!シネマサンシャインのやつ!
It's funny. My sound system detects dolby digital 5.1 sound for this video instead of dts sound
ネタバレ!日本全国のIMAX上映劇場(イオンシネマ岡山、福山エーガル8シネマズなど)にて2番目に流れる映像です。
I need original MKV file

I ripped the video, open Adobe audition, and it has 6 channels audio.
stats for nerds says surround sound, its real
TH-cam does not support TRUE multichannel audio format. STEREO 2 channel format only. Period.
up to 5.1 actually using HDMI eARC
Now youtube supports Dolby Digital Plus 5.1
I watched#GRANTURISMO
