Thank you. I found this post interesting and inspiring. The diversity of stories from around our planet just brings me to a place of supreme contentment and peace. The Earth continues to challenge us in our lack of paying attention. I appreciate you as a storyteller with an incredible story to tell. I loo forward to more.
One of my regrets when I was in the Coast Guard was not being able to serve onboard POLAR STAR or POLAR SEA (when she was still in service and not being used as spare parts for POLR STAR). That being said, pretty informative video and appreciate the short format. --OSC S, USCG retired
It was MV Green Wave in my days at Mac, summer 2000 ❤ I did go on the USCG cutter while it was docked, met the Captain at the Kiwi Cargo Party 😂❤ Managed to get to Cape Evans, Bratina Island, and climbed Castle Rock without ropes 😂
Definitely a possibility, but normally the best time to apply is feb-june. I'm sure their are unfilled positions. Here is a site with the companies that operate down there www.usap.gov/jobsandopportunities/?m=1

Yeah, definitely would be a crazy experience to icebreak your way through the poles.
My daughter was an officer on the Polar Star a few years back. She loved it.
That's crazy. Super cool experience I'm sure!
Wintered in 1993 at Casey station, great experience, travelled by ship both ways
Thats crazy. Super cool experience, I bet.

That's crazy cool! I feel like the operation are relatively similar, but the machinery has change over time. Had to be pretty sick, in 2000 haha
Great video❤❤❤❤❤!
I was down in the firehouse when the Polar Star came down for its maiden voyage
Damn. When was that?
More ships, planes, scientists & now tourists are needed there to prevent the Antarctic ice melt 🤔
Your guess is as good as mine 🧐
You never get me down there. Too cold and nothing to do.
That's fair 😆

@@aidanalfonso thanks man
So it's a bit like how british people shorten "tea time" to just "tea"?
Seems about right haha
Why do you have subtitles?
How's the internet there? Decent ping for giaming?
It's not good 😆 but I'm told every year it gets better.
So youtube has "CC" button right next to full screen and stuf. If you force us to watch captions for no reason its distracting. Auto thumbs down.
I did not care for that also.
The auto CC is often incorrect.
