Also yeah some of these are hurricane lizards but I'd honestly consider version 1.5 red lizards more unfair than them.

I don’t see what you mean. That was completely avoidable death. You just had to do a double quintuple iso-mobius backflip and throw a spear into the 18th dimension to kill the lizards before the game was released. Easy as pie.

Cool story, on my first playthrough (Monk), I (or other creatures in the area) apparently killed enough lizards to lineage two reds in Subterranean. Also a freakish spider thing (Wolf?) in uh.. Chimney maybe? I forget.
they can spawn without lineage in some campaigns :troll:
So according to what I saw: You have 0.1 second to react to them coming out of pipes; They shoot things at you; You can get gang up on by them; They come out of nowhere; You must be an acrobatic player and know every single way to dodge enemies Super Mario Odyssey style. Seems easy enough

'Fair' and 'balanced' are not words that should ever apply to a game like Rain World. Its apathy towards the player creates such a varied and rewarding experience.

It makes for more frustrating gameplay, but it's also pretty realistic. Nothing's balanced in nature. I mean, it is, meaning that whatever can't survive alone will do so in groups or packs. The slugcats survive because they're pack animals. All alone, they're just prey.
Red lizard: Hey five pebbles can I be the size 3 green lizards, spit projectiles that slow down targets, be the fastest lizard, have a bone crushing bite able to kill vultures with ease and also extreme reflexes?

This also isn't the slugcat's native environment. They live in an area outside the base game. It's a relatively organic environment with tree-like structures, frequent gentle rains, and primarily has scavengers, weird jumping things, and some decently sized lizards. The slugcat isn't supposed to deal with most of the stuff it encounters at all, let alone without its tribe.

RW_03 sounds exactly like Subterranean threat theme. Sadly, it is too hard to break a finished track down to layers.

@@TehGrmB33p3r they don't spawn in regular gameplay; there's a hidden super difficult campaign in Downpour, full of absolute nightmares. I won't spoil too much, but they are enormous, extremely heavy, and charge at you like a Green Lizard on PCP. Which is how they got their nickname: _Train_ Lizards
Nice kill there at the end! I should go for the "Bellyslide into open lizard mouth" move more often.
Yeah, slide-spearing lizards instakills/critically injures them a lot of the time, although for Reds, you have to be very careful
I'm afraid that red lizard isnt dead, very far from it actually...
@@JetFalcon710 apparently slidespearing the mouth will deal 50% more damage which will one-shot most lizards as hunter. reds have heaps of health though.

Fun fact: in the downpour dlc there is a setting to give red lizards the long tongue from white lizard!

Perhaps trying to get a red lizard lineage isn’t such a good idea for me after all...
I got two in my Survivor save and tamed them both, now I don't have to worry about lizards in Industrial Complex and Chimney Canopy (heck, having a spear would be completely optional in those areas if it weren't for the Tranquilla I also lineaged in CC). Also got a Cyan in Industrial and tamed it as well ;v;
Update: I've tamed six now, how did this happen
These red lizards had buffed speed because they were modded red lizards from the hurricane mod well the ones in survivor were you can tell because there was always electric effects whenever turtle got bitten as survivor

you need to always have a sacrificial offering to get past safely with them around, especially with their fully-automatic thousand bites per second Instakill and long-range sacks of weight plus ultra speed that you'll never outpace unless you're a movement god.

Hey slugcat was being red and the lizards wanted to join the fun
it's amazing how you can take a perfectly balance enemy, crank up a few stats and suddenly turn it into something that's not even remotely fair
Ah yes, "crank up a few stats" as in 100% bite lethality (2nd highest is 50%), can tank up to 12 spears (2nd is 10), can sense you **screens** away, spit slowing projectiles, can litterally not be deterred even by vultures, and the only reason they aren't the fastest lizard is because cyan lizards exist. And the Alpha variants have tongue attacks.
Maybe if red lizard was in Dark Souls game, where you don't die to a single hit, can properly dodge and attack with your sword, block with your shield and can heal with health potions - it would have been "balanced"
This video made me fear red lizards before I played, though, now I know that they are usually in industrial or outskirts in specific spots- I hardly see them elsewhere

Lizards in a whole are totally balanced
