Boom. Single dad here and I rocked this updo with style for my little lady in training. This makes 59 different hairstyles I’ve done and they all look great. I wish I started a Instagram page from day one cause I’ve come a long way. Lol thanks for the easy tutorial
Dude, I feel you completely. I’m married, but I always said from day one that I was going to learn to do my daughters hair so that we always had that special time to do that and talk. 5 years in and doing good so far! Videos like this are an absolute godsend, thanks very much to this lady for posting.
My thought exactly!!! Most that say easy, I can't do at all. I have exactly zero hair skills. I always end up with a basic ponytail everyday because I'm unable to do anything else, but I think I'll actually succeed with this one!
Hi Lainey! Thank you for posting this easy updo! I'm 63 years old and was thinking that it's time to cut my hair - but I love my long hair and I really love wearing it up. I think I could do this style - this will help me keep my hair long. Thanks again!
Age and short hair? Noooooo. There's no rule that says any person with long hair needs to chop it at a certain age (unless the peri and post menopausal sweats are so bad, but even then a bun or this style etc will keep the hair off the neck). Keep your long hair - and have fun with it! Do some colorings, temporary or permanent. Do blue. Red. Black and red. Purple and blue. Have amazing fun with your hair. We only live once (unless we believe in reincarnation but even then, we only have the current life to 'remember/are aware of', so it's Yolo (you only live once), so have some amazing fun. We dont have as strong of a worry about fitting in with everyonr else or giving 2 cents what others think. We are secure in our Selves. Age gracefully, sure. But also age embracing fun and silliness.
I’m a young 63 year old too and from time to time want to cut it off but so love all the styles long hair allows . Haven’t colored it since Covid and it’s nearly all grey/ white like my grandfathers. I get lots of compliments from young girls telling me how much they would pay for my color. (I’d rather be 20 years younger) but I’m just so glad I don’t have to fork out all the money and or hassle coloring it myself. Now a days I spend more on my dog’s hair than I do my own. 😅 the white grey is fun to add wild colors like pink blue once I even did a temp mermaid look of blues and greens We may be women of a certain age but We’re a whole new breed of “Grandmothers” for sure! 🤣
Oh my god, I normally never comment but I have really thick silky hair, which makes it impossible for me to ever do any updos because my hair has no texture to help it grip, and my hairs quite heavy, so its only a matter of time before it becomes undone and falls. I've tried so so many of the updo hairstyles on youtube for sooo many years, not once has my hair EVER come out looking like the tutorial, I just don't have that type of hair. I tried this, almost definitely sure it wouldn't work, like everything else I've tried, but I was so shocked, I had actually successfully created an updo, and it looked beautiful, wore it for a couple hours, VERY secure! It didn't fall at all. I'm so glad I found this tutorial, nothing has ever worked for my hair, and I still can't believe, that after years and years of youtube tutorials for updos, THIS is the one tutorial that actually worked for my hair when nothing has! It's so simple it's crazy Thank you so much for sharing this, it came out nicer than I ever would have imagined, now I can FINALLY do cute updos for events rather than having to let my hair down all the time.
I have very thick and heavy hair. Usually if I put it up, my scalp hurts from the weight. This style works for me and can go from casual to elegant by adding a sparkly embellishments. Thank you so much, I love it and so does my scalp.
Rabia Naveed I have very silky straight hair. Even with texture balm my hair doesn’t keep a curl or stay put. After reading your comment I am going to try this.
I've tried numerous styles to get this look and no other tutorial did what I needed from yours! Thank you so much! Super easy to do and looks great for weddings! I use braids instead of twists which gives my hair a little added boost.
@@LaineyMarieBeauty hi i sub, liked and commented and pressed bell x you are a wonderful person no matter what x have a good life and dont be disturbed by the ones that dont like u x carry on what u can xx we all love u xxxxxx ❤
This is one of the first and only hairstyles I’ve ever been able to follow on my own from a tutorial and I’m wearing it to a wedding this weekend. Extremely helpful and useful!

I think you just saved me 🤣 I'm the worst at doing my hair. You have now made complicated-looking hairstyles attainable for me! I'm trying this out tonight for date night❤️
Been researching easy updos for my minimal wedding. I'm doing my own hair, so I have decided on this one! Thanks so much! I've already tried it against others and like th is the best for my hair. Awesome tutorial thanks 😊
So I used to do this pull through braid thing, that wasn't hard, but time consuming and used a lot of hair elastic, and this looks almost exactly like it when it's done. I can't wait to try this!
I over think hair ups WAY too much and this has just eased my mind completely 🥺 honestly such a beautiful hair up. Thank you. As a student hairdresser you’ve given me an idea for an assessment 🥰♥️
I have rather thick, elbow length hair. I did this one, but I used braids instead of twisting it. I found it held better. Love it, it's so easy and stays in place all day. Thanks.
SUPERB! Simple, manageable process that somehow yields an almost complex, elegant, sophisticated hairstyle...but only "almost" - because you get to keep this easy, natural look that can be dressed up for dinner, or down for a picnic in jeans - all with no mention of "product" - whoo hoo!
Simple, elegant, neat!!! I tried this with traditional plaits and it stayed put! As a woman in field work I have very few hairdo options and am I glad for this one! Thank you!!!
Omg loved doing this do today! Took a minute to get the look I was going for but the final result was so cute for a simple Sunday out. Thanks for sharing! 😊

OMG, I needed to see this video today! Im starting a new job as a massage therapist and I didnt want to just pull it back but Ill need to have it up since it is very warm in our studio. Thanks again!

Girl!!! I looked for easy do-ups and your video popped up!! This is Amazing! I have to work and very little time to come home and do hair for work Christmas dinner and this is perfect!! Thank you!
I'm saving this video, so I can come back to it. I have fine, silky hair and any kind of updo just deflates as soon as I set it. I wanna try this tomorrow, so I can wear it on the weekend. I hope it works with my baby bangs.
You could always use texture sprays, etc. && If you have time to make loose curls/waves in the morning or braid it the night before && take them out in the morning, that should help with hair ties slipping or just dullness.. && makes updo's even cuter/more elegant. Also, (I don't naturally have straight hair) but I always end up teasing it somewhere whether my hair be straight or wavy/curly. Hope this made sense😋😋💋💋
Thank you. I’ve had no luck in the past with putting my long hair up; Resorting to a single braid to deal with the summers in Florida. I love this simple solution. Now I just need the right Bobby pins. Bless You.🥰

I love your realness and your simplicity. This tutorial really feels like we are in the room with you. It is so different than what we are used to see on TH-cam. So refreshing! Plus, it is very well explained. Great work ❤
Absolutely love this demonstration!! I cannot believe how easy it is to create this look. Thank you do much!! A lifesaver for humid days! Especially for special occasions!! ❤
Thank you!! I am terrible with hair, and needed to help my daughter, who has long curly hair, with a homecoming updo. This was easy and she looked great. I impressed myself. ha! Greatly appreciate your tutorial!
Aww cute baby. The most easiest hair do ever i think ive found my fo to hair up do i will do this every other day. Thank you so much for sharing it such a unique style very neat for any occasion
Oh my word~ So stinkin' cute! It amazes me that I've had long wavy hair my whole life & I STILL am able to find things I'd not yet thought of doing~ & at 56 yrs old, I've done every braid/twist/halfsie/ pouf/pony/etc I thought existed to humankind...umm, nope. =) Thanks sweetness~ this one's extra great because I live in the desert, so anything that gets it up off the neck & allows it to still look decent kinda messy is a huge win🌟🤸♀️Yay from AZ!
Depends on how short your hair is. You may just have to use more bobby pins and a few hair pins. It won't look exactly like hers, but depending on the length, it is very possible. Maybe you can have a friend or relative watch this video with you and he or she can help you get it done just so that you can see from the front and guide them. You might also have to modify it. Instead of pancaking it, you might have to just sit them side by side and pin them. I'm a licensed cosmetologist that has done many updo's so I'm speaking from experience. Best of luck to you.
My hair is collarbone length and I just tried this and it does not work at all. My hair is definitely too short. By the time I tucked my twists into the bottom of the elastics of each pony there wasn't enough of a loop for me to pull the other loop through. The two loops barely even touched when I pulled them to the middle to try that step.
Great thanks so much. Finally something I can manage for everyday with my long frizzy hair to look a bit less like a wild woman of Borneo. Your baby is adorable. Cherish those years sooo much. They just fly by.
brilliant thank you, i needed something ready for me to do for my mums wedding, i am going to curl my hair to get more of a weaved effect over the top of my head, i had this for my wedding day and loved it, thank you
I am insanely interested in trying this since my hair is so fine. I just don’t see it looking full and pretty like yours. I’ll definitely update if I do and let you know though.
I just tried this today for my jury-recital for my music program… it turned out amazing! I can’t do hair, so this is an incredible life hack. Thank you!
@Arjeta Braha that's my issue too!! I would LOVE to do this tomorrow morning for work, but what is holding me back is that I do not have any Bobbie pins....I'm sitting here at 11:30 pm tryingvto think of ANYTHING else I could use besides Bobbie pins that I have at home....hmmmm
@@Tonya0621 maybe small hairclips?! Oh, the everyday work look is just as stressful as thinking of what to cook. I feel you. Lately, a simple braid has been my go to.
@@arjetabraha4725 I actually tried the small hair clips, but as small as mine are, they werent small enough, I don't think. My hair wasnt as full as it normally is, which did make it hard to hide the silver on the top of the clips. Why they make them that way, I'll never know. But, I'm going to stop at Sally's if I remember after work today....lol. I totally HEAR you on the whole, "what's for dinner," thing too...ugh, everyday struggles....right?!? I'll let you know once I use the bobby pins, bc that way I can pick and choose the perfect pieces of hair to place at the perfect place! Now, I just make it tight enough to hold, and can't loosen much bc I'm afraid chunks will fall....i have long, overgrown layers, but they're still layers!! Ugggh☹🤔🤔🤔
So I'm a hairstylist and was looking for an easy updo for my mid length hair. I found this video and started watching it and I almost left it because I thought this isn't going to be very pretty. I decided to stay with it and so glad I did. At the end i was so surprised at how easy, elegant and feminine it looks and how quick! I never comment on any video but had to on this one. Impressed! Thank you and keep up the good work.
This is the best hair video I've ever seen!! Looking for a wedding hair fix and found this. So easy! First try and it came out beautifully. Search has ended - I'm going with this. Thank you many times over.
This is so cute!! I’ve had a chin length bob most of my adult life and now my hair is halfway down my back so I figured it was time I learned to do something with it. I can’t wait to try this!
Really lovely up do I’ve just tried it and it’s soo easy to do I just played around with some crystal pins and put them in In my opinion you can make this style casual or glam it up for a night out Thank you soo much
You are a life saver. So many of these tutorials are impossible to do on yourself. I followed along and yep, I have a sophisticated look that is exactly what I'm going for!! My husband and I are doing 10 Year Anniversary photos next month, and with the pandemic, I'd rather not go to the salon. This look with the sparkly barrette I ordered will be perfect! THANK YOU!!!
First of all: thank you for this hack! With super long hair, I can even do this without any elastic and that in itself is amazing! What a great hair staple to have! Second of all: how do you have such a cute little baby AND are so put together with done make upand all...? What sorcery is this and do you also have tips and tricks on that? I'm that mom that really feels fancy when they made it out of payama pants and are wearing jeans. Yep, I'm a disgrace. Don't judge me, people :( At least I'm asking and mayyyyybe someone can help??
"I like to call this pancaking..." ;'D Maybe that's because it's called pancaking! ;'D Anyway, this was a really quick way to do a fancy-looking messy bun! I'm totally trying this. Thanks!
thanks for turning around so we could see what the heck you were doing! so many people in these videos do not do that and it's so frustrating! Love this bun, thank you!

Or thin hair
She probably things her hair is short or medium idk why else it would be in the title
That's What "i" Said the lady on this video hair is medium...
Great thanks so much. Finally something I can manage for everyday with my long frizzy hair to look a bit less like a wild woman of Borneo. Your baby is adorable. Cherish those years sooo much. They just fly by.
That's cute! Your makeup looks really good.
GreatestXchange thank you so much 😊
Amazing. I was sick of the old lady bun and this is refreshing! Thank you
This actually looks like something I could manage
brilliant thank you, i needed something ready for me to do for my mums wedding, i am going to curl my hair to get more of a weaved effect over the top of my head, i had this for my wedding day and loved it, thank you
When you pulled one side through the other, it was such a pretty surprise! I never saw this before, thank you.
This style was super easy to do even with damp hair. Took about 5 minutes and looks adorable!!! Where was this video on my wedding day!!!!!
I bet this looks beautiful and more formal vertically
This is the best video! It is truly the easiest chignon tutorial I have done that actually turned out AWESOME!! Super easy and looks pretty!
That makes me so happy! Thank you :)
I am insanely interested in trying this since my hair is so fine. I just don’t see it looking full and pretty like yours. I’ll definitely update if I do and let you know though.
K A would love to know how yours turned out!!
I just tried this today for my jury-recital for my music program… it turned out amazing! I can’t do hair, so this is an incredible life hack. Thank you!
Looks great! I'm definitely trying this one as soon as I get my meta grip bobby pins. Thank you for that tip. Also, baby Knox is the cutest.
Arjeta Braha you’re welcome!! And thank you so much 😊
@Arjeta Braha that's my issue too!!
Why am I learning to style my hair when I'm quarantined and nobody will see it?
So we can be hair pros by the time we are free lol
shhhh...some of us work in essential services
@@animalimprov Thank you.
So when you go back to school you’ll rock those hairstyles or idk
@@dulcesunshine536 I was homeschooled already, but I did like to go out whenever I could.
Omgosh! Thank you. I struggle with my hands and pain. This was super easy for me to do and I wasn't in a ton of pain after
Love how easy this hair tutorial is! Thank you for this! 😍🙌🏻
Jackie Korras thanks for watching 😊
This is the best hair video I've ever seen!! Looking for a wedding hair fix and found this. So easy! First try and it came out beautifully. Search has ended - I'm going with this. Thank you many times over.
I know how I’m wearing my hur tomorrow
This sounds like the girl version of phineas and Ferbs classic line "I KNOW WHAT WE ARE GONNA DONE TODAY!"
I've seen so many vids claiming to show us easy updos. Yours actually IS easy, thank you so much!
This literally saved my weekend
Ditte Lintrup ooooo!! So happy to hear that ❤️❤️❤️
This is so cute!! I’ve had a chin length bob most of my adult life and now my hair is halfway down my back so I figured it was time I learned to do something with it. I can’t wait to try this!
BEAUTIFUL............ I just like to have some 'height' on the top of my head....Love this ..thank YOU...
Josephine Tyree thanks for watching 😊
Saaame 💁🏻♀️ lol... nothing a little (a lot) of teasing can't solve 💋
Really lovely up do I’ve just tried it and it’s soo easy to do I just played around with some crystal pins and put them in
In my opinion you can make this style casual or glam it up for a night out
Thank you soo much
How in the world does someone figure something like this out? It’s pretty, Hope I don’t knot my hair up
Tammy Douglas thank you! It’s super simple 😊
Same my hair is so long and lately knots even if i just have it in a bun. Smh
@@mlind-je5jn and the amount of Bobby pins for one bun is so much lol
Don't judge me, people :(
At least I'm asking and mayyyyybe someone can help??
LacrimaPhoenix you’re not alone!! No sorcery! This is just for TH-cam. I almost never wear makeup or do my hair unless it’s for TH-cam Lol
Instant follow! This video has actually been the very first video I've ever watched that is actually been so so amazingly helpful!!
"I like to call this pancaking..." ;'D Maybe that's because it's called pancaking! ;'D Anyway, this was a really quick way to do a fancy-looking messy bun! I'm totally trying this. Thanks!
Jenn Hoff hahah I swear every time I say pancaking people are like HUH! Hahah! thank you for the comment! Hope it works for you!!
I didn't know it was called that 😅
@@stupor_mundi really?? you must not watch a lot of braiding vids...
PLUM THUM I've watched some... maybe they didn't know either 😅😆
@@stupor_mundi I didn't know it was called that either x
thanks for turning around so we could see what the heck you were doing! so many people in these videos do not do that and it's so frustrating! Love this bun, thank you!
"Anyone can do this style!"
Lol obviously she's never met me before
bahahah im the same way
Same! I literally can’t even figure out how to properly use bobby-pins. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@@marreroborn Same 😭
@@marreroborn Have you tried hair pins? Way easier IMHO.
Literally what I was thinking. She pulled out the bobby pins and I groaned.
FINALLY! A video that actually is truthful to the title and it’s so beautiful!!! 😍
"Youre gonna have no problems doing this" lol and I proceed to completely fail.
Mine failed too. After twisting my hair they fell flat and they were just loose loops. Loll
Believe in yourself and try other hairstyles, I'm sure one of them will be easy and suitable to you
@@leen8175 me trying to find an updo a year later for a wedding and not realizing I already tried this one until I saw my own comment 😂😂 almost mid twenties and I've never successfully done any kind of updo. I do appreciate the support tho
Thanks! This does in fact look super easy. And I love that you go straight to the point and don't ramble endlessly like so many beauty gurus on TH-cam. You rock girl
Awe! That means a lot!! Thank you for watching :)
Tbh my hair is my biggest enemy..
And bobby pin too
Loved this!!!! Watched the tutorial & did the hairstyle all b4 work. Thats a great tutorial. Being able to watch & execute all in the same setting. Took me a total of 10 mins.
I finally grew my hair out, I'm used to rocking a long bob, and now I can do different styles. Thank you
I love this. Makes your hair look so thick too!
I've watched hundreds of these and this definitely the best!!
I can't wait to try this hairstyle! Your instructions were so clear and helpful! 🥰
Amazingly easy!! Even turned out great with long (waist length) hair, I doubled my loop.
Thank you for time saving easy doooo!!
Love how you explain in details and show every step.
Super cute
