Love to see my relative's suite, B19. Mr. Wyckoff van der Hoef. Sadly, he died. They found him in his evening attire (not PJ's) and identified him by the engraving on the inside of his wedding ring.
I got into THG because of Mike Brady. Please do more live streams and collaboration with Mike. You guys are a powerhouse when put together. Great video guys!
By the way, as a Titanic fanatic, I would like to give my huge thanks for all of this marvelous detail. Making the Titanic take in history again as a visual exact 3D tour. I've been a fanatic since Elementary School. I can not wait until the new updates come in! Beautiful!
46:05 WOW! That is so insane! And yes, every pixel level detail you can provide to represent what it actually looked like is critical. Thank you for your work!
Grand Voyage sounds awesome, these projects are a far more enjoyable way to learn thier history than what u would learn in school many moons ago, loving the passion going into these.
Wow, this is amazing! It is wonderful to see that there are a few people left in the world who do care about doing exceptional work. Little things mean a lot, so this care and attention to detail is very refreshing!
As mentioned near the end of the stream, niche desires are a thing that can't be satisfied at every request. I've been studying Titanic since 1982 and (if I may be frank) am quite sick of being beaten over the head with cabins, bridge, gymnasium, dining saloons, Scotland road etc. The engineers (in the 1912 definition of the word) among us would like to see a bit of shaft tunnel, electrical repair shop, pump rooms, the hatches in Scotland road for shipping furnaces, feed water filters and such. I appreciate the work I've seen put in since the beginning of the whole project but the videos come across as the same content but with better graphics.
@@BaneV666 there are parts of the crew cabins. but as it was in real life, its nothing special. just spare rooms stuffed full with beds and a few tables and benches :D
Came here for this. I've been going throug VR like a fiend and I would spend hours in here. should look into the VR tools and see if you can attach it in UE5 that'd be dope.
@the25thdoctor It was, now they're just trying to get a 1 to 1 accurate recreation of the full ship released and the sinking will be an added thing hopefully
This is so much fun and appreciate all you’ve done and the incredible hard work and dedication to make this happen and I appreciate all and thank you, thank you and thank you 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Thank you for the walk around with us on this beauty. Anyone notice in the first class lounge when you walk past some of the tables it looks like you are looking down through dee wells? 1.05.23
I'm a huge Beatles fan so I have to correct you, John, Paul and George were all around 5'11" which was tall for the time! Come one, "Smaller guys" is like 5'6"...
VR would take this from looking at the interiors of the Titanic to being ON the Titanic. I might get this if there is no VR version, if there was a VR version I would seriously consider buying a powerful enough PC just to play it.
Such beautiful work, it's always exciting to see the updates! The stained glass windows really do add a whole new layer of amazing beauty to the look of the smoking room. Truly extraordinarily well done. Adjusting the properties of light, materials and textures must have taken a huge effort, but the result is stunning! Weren't the Verandah Café tables all square on Titanic? At least on the starboard side they must have been. There's a fairly good photograph of that room taken by a press photographer at Southampton and published in newspapers around the time of the maiden voyage. It shows only square tabletops in situ. They made the room look more crowded and less elegant, so I wonder what compelled White Star to omit the mix of round and square tables used on Olympic. The Norman Wilkinson painting at the City Museum in Southampton is actually the much more prescient "Approach to the New World" showing New York City and the Statue of Liberty, etc.. It is invariably and falsely placed in the smoking room of Titanic in nearly every movie about the disaster, including the otherwise so historically faithful "A Nicht to Remember" from 1958. Film directors simply couldn't resist the symbolism. It is naturally so much more powerful than the "Approach to Plymouth Harbour" theme that actually hung in Titanic's smoking room.
The reason _Arrival to The New World_ is in most movies is jist because the actual composition of _Approach to Plymouth Harbour_ wasn't really publicised. With the original obviously lost in the sinking, Wilkinson had only his rough sketch for historians to go by, whereas most of _Olympic's_ fittings were preserved in one form or another. Walter Lord actually complained how annoyed he was to find out he got the painting wrong only after being given the _New World_ reproduction from the 1958 film.
Thanks for the content and videos. Titanic but since a kid, and you are correct, it's ships, dirigibles, trains, classic cars, historic buildings, and so on. I've contacted Titanic Quarter in Belfast to get them to think about building a full scale replica of the on it's original railway as a museum piece, built by H&W. So many possibilities there. Need help to convince them what a goldmine that would. Built to exact specifications, at least the parts that people could tour. If they build it, people would come.
Was there a version of 401 that has text boxes of information appear as you walked through? That would be great so it becomes more of a learning experience. Also, I would love to see more of the bridge/map room/navigation portion of the bridge to be exporable.
Speaking of glass, some of the multi-pane ripple glass windows have a wacky pane. It appears to be because the orientation of the ripples is out of alignment with the others. I haven't walked the decks for a few months; but if memory serves me correctly, these windows are on the A-Deck promenade.
That's because the modelers making a lot of the physical reconstructions are building from period photos of _Olympic_ by Robert Welch. The issue is that the silver iodide emulsion used for film back then tended to make yellows appear much darker than equivalent reds and blues, so the relatively yellowish organic tones of that light finished English oak wainscot come across looking more like how we would expect to see deep red mahogany. It's also why some of the brass fittings in various parts of the ship (like the frames of the deck benches) appear black in historic photographs.
So what is the difference between project 401 and titanic honor and glory are they both going to eventually be separate fully finished games like in project 401 you can run faster through the ship you dont have the nodes everywhere that you read the information about the ship in titanic honor and glory you cant run very fast and there are nodes you read stuff about the ship also which project will have the full sinking mode
Junior Assistant Engineer Herbert Harvey was also in Boiler Room 5, was it him or Hesketh who tried to get to Sheppard? Most accounts I have read and watched say it was Harvey, which one is it?
It was Harvey. Barrett's account of it is horrifying-he was apparently caught by a rip current and dragged underneath the boilers before he could even get more than two meters from the base of the escape ladder.
Good day! Amazing work! You still haven't fixed the room under the fourth chimney funnel. Through the windows you can see that there is no geometry of the 3D model. I wrote to you since version 2.0. Also the speed of movement on stairs is too low. I also recommended that the ship diagrams, posted inside the premises, have a mark on the diagram where this diagram is located. Good luck!
Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth look a lot more like Titanic then Queen Mary 2. There is much more edwardian influences here then in the Art Deco based Mary. My friend Mike Brady! Try one of them. I will sail Victoria in September! 🙋♂️
I have a brand new pc i9-14900KF, 32g DDR5-6000, RTX 4070 Super (12g vram). This demo does not want to run on my system. issues range from fully locking up the pc to giving me out of memory errors, etc. I have no issues with any other titles.
Just downloaded this demo, it looks and sounds so much better than the previous one, but is anyone else getting wavy lines on their screen? Especially when going down the first class stateroom hallways on B/C deck? Also in the first class lounge the carpet sorta looks like tv static when I move. In fact, a lot of surfaces have that issue when I move, and then when I stop the lines sometimes look jagged/out of place. I have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU and I didn’t have this problem in the hallways and first class lounge in the previous version. So I don’t know why there’s wavy shimmering lines when I move or look around. It doesn’t look like screen tearing. Any thoughts from anyone on what this is? Thanks Just looked it up and pretty sure this is an aliasing issue but not 100% sure
