Your second attempt to pronounce the name was correct. Mastermind and founder Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann always has to say the name of the Swiss band because it is written strangely. It is the oldest inscription of a Swiss tribe. This is where the Latin name for Switzerland, Helvetia, comes from.
The deer are mentioned by name in the credits :-)
The horns are carnyx and are instruments of war. There are no originals left. They disappeared with the Celts. We only know them from pictures and descriptions of the Romans.
In 2002, Chrigel had the idea of combining death metal (and his own growls) and folk. He started the band as a studio project and went on tour with the session musicians. After that, the band broke up. After he had new material again, he founded the band again, with Anna Murphy as the female singer and hurdy-gurdy player:
ELUVEITIE - The Call Of The Mountains (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
In 2016, during the recording of a new LP, a heated argument broke out between Chrigel and Anna. Anna spontaneously left the band and took on two more members. The three of them formed a prog metal band:
CELLAR DARLING - Avalanche (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
Chrigel had to finish the album with a guest singer and Season musicians. After that, he went on tour with another guest singer. When she could no longer continue due to scheduling reasons, he hired the aspiring folk singer Fabienne as Season singer in 2017. After the end of the tour, the Seasons became members.
Fabienne founded the band Illumishade in 2019 as a master's thesis for her singing studies. It would have been enough to have material ready for production, but Fabi founded the band and went on tour with it. Because Chrigel had just reduced his activities to a minimum for personal reasons, Fabi also made a second album:
ILLUMISHADE - ENEMY (Official Music Video) | Napalm Records
Anna as hurdy-gurdy player was replaced by Michalina Malisz. She had become a hurdy-gurdy player because of Anna. After Anna left the band, Chrigel discovered her videos of Elveitie songs on TH-cam. He praised Michalina in a comment on a video. Shortly afterwards, Michalina found out about the break-up and applied. During her membership in Eluveitie she has continued to release videos on TH-cam:
10 Iconic Guitar Riffs Played On The Hurdy Gurdy PART 1 (10k SUBSCRIBERS + WIN HELVETION MERCH!)
In 2022 she leaves the band to form her own symphonic metal band, where she is also the lead singer:
LYRRE - Valley of Tears (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

One of the best band out there. They alternate between pure metal and folk in their albums. Recommended are: Rebirth, king, Epona, a Rose for Epona, Inis Mona… well there is so much good stuff from them I can’t list them all. Celtic Metal is a thing!

Welcome to Celtic folk metal! The band is actually mostly from Switzerland, but that's where the Celts originated. The song is inspired by a Celtic rebellion against the Romans. The band actually identities as pagan (meaning in this case nature worshipping). I know the Hurdy gurdy player here a bit but she's moved on and started her own band Lyrre. Her name is Michalina Malisz. Fabi also has a different, completely different project called Illumishade. Great reaction!

El-Vay-Tee 💞. Celtic Folk Metal!! They have been around for awhile and I would love for you to check more of their music. Try an older one with the former singer Anna Murphy "Rose for Epona". This band is awesome!!!!!

If you're looking to get a better listen to Fabienne's gorgeous clean vocals, have a listen to "Ambiramus," also by Eluveitie. "Rebirth" is another song that features her cleans really well, but is also harsh the way this song is. Fabienne is also part of Illumishade which more prominently features her cleans; check out her cover of "Into the Unknown" from Frozen 2 or "Rise" to hear how immensely talented she is.

Eluveitie"s themes for songs very often are the struggle of the Celtic tribes against Roman tyranny and Celtic mythology. This song starts with a battle song of an ancient tribe. This sound is Celtic, but that is a natural mistake to make because all ancient European music carries a Celtic influence, as the bards of the last Celtic courts were the only tradition of music after the dark age set in, except the church. All the music of western Europe carries that imprint. 🧐🤔😁🤗
