This was my first Lupa review. I found her because of The Cinema Snob and while I enjoyed watching it, I wasn't hooked. Then, suddenly, "He gets eaten later, doesn't matter." It was just said with such casual dismissal that I couldn't help but fall in love.
I saw her in a crossover with Phelous(after I finally got around to watching his stuff) and thought she was pretty damn funny. I think I started with Baywatching.
Her humor has evolved over time, but she nailed the dismissal thing pretty early. Hmm. I got into her and Phelan due to Brad, but I am not quite sure what I first saw her in.
What I wouldn't give when I was available to just have someone come over and say that infamous line. Short, appreciative, to the point, and no effing bs. Best pickup line in history.

Megalodon-a surface-dwelling shark that fed on large animals found in the upper part of the ocean-survived by retreating into deep water far away from its primary food source. ::facepalm::

Megalodon was a descendant of a shark called Otodus while Whites descended from a different species of shark. Megalodon would also have looked like a Whale Shark, Basking Shark, or Sand Tiger Shark.
She wouldn’t even need to lie. She is a palaeontologist and he found a tooth of an extinct shark species. All she needs to say is she came to see if she could find any more where he found that one.
I remember watching this when I was really young, it scared the shit out of me at the time, along with Deep Blue Sea and Jurassic Park. But it never made me scared of the ocean or real sharks, I don't quite understand why some people never went to the beach after seeing Jaws, I was five and knew it was fake...
Aaaaah, I’m so happy you went over this! As silly as it is, I loved this movie. I found it through my love of Jaws and its sequels; cuz by then I was just hooked with shark films. It super helped that Megalodon was a cool new shark I never heard of before. Thanks for this! :D
Why precisely would a paleontologist go on an expedition to tag a living creature? Isn't that about the last thing in which a paleontologist would have any experience? I don't think there are lots of diplodocus tagging expeditions.
I bought the Shark Attack movie collection (4 movies) for $1 and my family watched the first movie. It was incredibly bad and totally worth what I paid for it!
I had a friend who worked on this film as well as several other bad horror films. He claimed to know Lloyd Kaufman, never confirmed if that was true. Anyways, he would take time off from regular factory work every year to go work on shitty movies. Couple years ago a member of upper management pissed him off so bad he just walked out and I never seen him again. I guess he's in California now?

She HAS To be a paleontologist...who would know well enough to call the Megalodon shark by its generic name Carcharodon, Otodus, or Carcharocles, know why and when it went extinct, and what its teeth look like. The Megalodon tooth is the most recognizable shark tooth. HOW DO THEY GET THE TOOTH SHAPE AND SIZE WRONG?! Even Discovery Channel got that right! This would be so much better if it was Baywatch Beach and Mitch had to punch out the shark. "You are going to make so many burgers" You know, for supposedly being from a species of 60 foot whale eaters, the title Megalodon doesn't really go after more than one boat and eats people, which is kinda like a tiger eating rabbits . Hmmmm.... Oh my god, I love the greenscreen in this movie.
Forgot to mention: Non-bird dinosaurs went extinct something like 25 million years before Megalodons existed. There were big shark-namely species of Otodus, a possible relative and synonym, but Megalodon evolved as a whale-eating specialist. Oh, and even if it's a member of the genus Carcharodon, it is almost certainly not an ancestor of the less derived great white. And that is a real life book prop-I'm a big fan of the author, Richard Ellis. He also wrote these great books on sharks, tuna, swordfish, whales, marine ecology, and the giant squid.
Iffy acting and bad special effects and strange dialogue- still enjoyable. Barrowman has had better performances and Cat- Jenny McShane - is ok. Iffy science but it's movies.
Oh by the way Lupa since you said you never saw shark attack 2 then just don't even worry about it because it has nothing to do with shark attack 3 megalodon & little to do with the first shark attack movie. But part 2 of shark attack does star that African American guy who played Buddy's with Arnold Schwarzegger in predator. Ain't no I didn't miss pronounce his last name. Schwarzegger is really how he's last name is pronounced according to a live interview he did on the A&E channel back in 1991.

If I want a gay actor playing a straight character, I'll stick with Neil Patrick Harris. 4:28- Kate is as much of a paleontologist as Tera Reid's characterin Alone in the Dark is an archaeologist. 11:50- I have had it with this motherfucking dialogue in these motherfucking Jaws ripoffs! I remember first seeing the cheap shark effects and the "Eat your pussy" line from a TH-cam video on some of the worst movie moments ever. It's also where I fist saw the "Oh my god!" from Troll 2 and "GARBAGE DAY!" From Silent Night, Deadly Night 2.
