I downloaded vintage paper doll files from Etsy and turned them into magnets for my daughter. We use them on a portable whiteboard so they stick and it is easy for her to “dress” her dolls. I think it would be cute if we customised the whiteboard with a background, or even a bag/tin to keep them all in. There’s lots of magnetic kids activities that I would love to make for her. This tutorial has made it a lot easier. Thanks for sharing!

This turned out beautifully! I just got my Cricut Explorer 2 and attempted my first time, making stickers with the sticker paper that came with the machine. It took me two tries to make them perfect. I made a few mistakes, first not pinning up the paper right, second measuring where I wanted and how big the sticker would be! My students were right next to me making sure I didn’t make the same mistake three times. Undoubtedly I run out of paper but the students got their perfect sticker which I saw you used this peor for your labeling bottles. The students enjoyed coloring them. Thank you for your tips and ways to used this machines. I can’t wait to started making more projects and also I want to get the cricut mug press. I love the cricut iron-on 9x9.

So I printed my designs on the printable vinyl and took this on the magnetic sheet and my silhoutte cuts it out. Thank you so much for this idea, its the perfect solution for my printer-problem. Addendum: as it turns out, my magnetic sheet was WAAAY too old to work, it just fell apart - but I'm going to get more, because the rest of the thing turned out great! And side note, I didn't have any clear vinyl, but I had clear with sparkles, which I had NO idea what to do with, & using it as the top layer worked perfectly & looked great!
Do I do the calibration process as long as it takes? It never seems to fully be calibrating properly, like the line never touches the square properly , is something wrong with my machine? Thanks :)

I made the fridge magnets with no trouble at all! So cute!! Today I tried the same technique with other images and there are bits of cut magnet pieces all over the machine, getting stuck to the rollers, etc. I used a brand new deep point blade. Help!

Is the only difference between the Printable Magnet Sheet method and the Printable Vinyl on an Adhesive Magnet Sheet method - waterproofness? Any other advantages/disadvantages?
The primary difference between a "Printable Magnet Sheet" and "Printable Vinyl on an Adhesive Magnet Sheet" is that the printable magnet sheet has the magnetic backing already integrated with the printable surface, while the printable vinyl requires a separate adhesive magnet sheet to be applied after printing, essentially making the magnetic layer an added step.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t that easy. I think my computer is just slow. It takes forever to get to the screen where I can toggle on “add bleed” and “system dialog”. Found that it’s quicker on my phone. Not sure why it’s an issue on my computer….maybe my system. 😒

I am using a Maker, printable vinyl, magnetic sheet and laminate on the top. Following Jennifer's instructions, when I go to cut, I pick the material, magnetic sheet 0.5mm and change to more pressure but it asks for the fine point blade, not the deep point blade. How can I change it to use the deep point blade?

Here is the note from Cricut: Tip: If your material is not listed here, try a test cut with a similar material setting, provided the thickness of your material is less than less than 2.0 mm for Cricut Explore Air 2. The maximum thickness can also vary with the rigidity and density of the cutting material. I've just found your channel, and am loving it, I recently acquired another Cricut, the Cricut Maker, with lots of material, can you do a video on how to tell which medium you are using if you don't have the original packaging if there is a way to tell. I have drawers of material and most is not labeled, wanted to see if there is a way that you know of for a person to be able to tell what type of material you have, I do have some that is marked, but the majority is not. Is it possible to cut the permeant vinyl that comes on a roll to standard paper size and then use it in an inkjet printer? I have a roll of vinyl and I can't afford to buy printable sheets right now so I'd like to know if I can use what I have.
Jeniffer, does your envy printer have an ink tank or the regular ink small cartridges? I had an Envy HP 7640, but even though I just to buy the XL printer ink cartridges, either they would dry or run out of ink really fast. My money was escaping from my pocket like crazy, so I gave it away and purchased a canon with a tank that makes me happy.

Amazing tutorial. But I'm confused, I though adding bleed is for something without a white border, cos the color 'bleeds' a bit and this was no white lines will show. But ur design has a white border so why choose bleed?
Hi Jennifer, I love your magnets video. I would like to make magnets for my friends. Example: picture of their dog-favorite place to eat-even a bible. To start I would get pictures. How would I do that with pictures?
The roller wheels on the Explore Air 2 are not movable like they are in the Maker. When I used the Explore Air 2 for magnets, the roller wheels made marks on the magnets.
DO NOT try to calibrate with a phone/tablet. This nearly made me lose my mind. The printer kept shrinking the size of the printout and I didn’t know it. Also there was no setting to have it print to size from my phone app (that I could find). I use an Epson ET. Print it out from a pc. You can have it print to actual size. Took me several hours to do this. I tried everything from forcing it to download firmware just in case and a ton of other stuff. Just use a pc lol OR make sure you can set size (not just fit to page or with boarders) for your printer via phone app.

When cutting out logos do you need to use the offset setting

You want to try and avoid covering the registration marks as the laminate could make it harder for the sensors🥰

I get to “preparing to print” and then it just circles and circles. Any suggestions? It’s like it’s not recognizing my printer maybe?

You do not need the deep point blade to do this. You only need the standard blade that came with your Maker.

I did this and the Cricut Maker said that it can't read the registration marks??
Check the lighting and make sure the sensor doesn't have dust on it. 😊🌻

You can customize the size in the toolbar. It will try to keep it in proportion to size.

Is it possible to cut the permeant vinyl that comes on a roll to standard paper size and then use it in an inkjet printer? I have a roll of vinyl and I can't afford to buy printable sheets right now so I'd like to know if I can use what I have.
You could try it but I don't know how it would turn out and hold up. Printable vinyl is what is needed for print then cut.
Jeniffer, does your envy printer have an ink tank or the regular ink small cartridges? I had an Envy HP 7640, but even though I just to buy the XL printer ink cartridges, either they would dry or run out of ink really fast. My money was escaping from my pocket like crazy, so I gave it away and purchased a canon with a tank that makes me happy.
It uses cartridges. I don't really use it a lot, so the ink lasts me a while. Sorry to hear you had issues with yours!
Could you print picture of people, quality would be good?

How do you save and close after calibration?
You choose what lines are best and the program walks you through it.
I did everything and it still not cutting through the magnet

Amazing tutorial. But I'm confused, I though adding bleed is for something without a white border, cos the color 'bleeds' a bit and this was no white lines will show. But ur design has a white border so why choose bleed?

Can you cut magnet with explore air 2
The roller wheels on the Explore Air 2 are not movable like they are in the Maker. When I used the Explore Air 2 for magnets, the roller wheels made marks on the magnets.
Yes, you can!
DO NOT try to calibrate with a phone/tablet. This nearly made me lose my mind. The printer kept shrinking the size of the printout and I didn’t know it. Also there was no setting to have it print to size from my phone app (that I could find). I use an Epson ET.
Print it out from a pc. You can have it print to actual size. Took me several hours to do this. I tried everything from forcing it to download firmware just in case and a ton of other stuff.
Just use a pc lol OR make sure you can set size (not just fit to page or with boarders) for your printer via phone app.
