    So much fun with parallel mixing. I love this! I hadn't clocked how you can virtually mimic a bottom snare mic with this approach. Brilliant. Thanks Kenny.

    Your tutorials are top tier: well spoken, perfectly timed (so it's easy to follow along), laconic and practically useful. Just pure gold, something I've been looking for.

    Am i crazy for thinking that this method of (essentially) parallel sustain is almost a more pleasing "reverb" because it doesnt give the empty distance effect?

    I was watching a video from Andrew Zeleno where he manually separates out all the transients (cuts them) from the sustain and has each on separate tracks. I thought that seemed like a lot of work. I think with this plugin you could do the same thing in far less time.

    • @thehighhnotes

      Not sure I understood what you said here, could you describe the steps involved?

    • @MonkeyBars1
      @MonkeyBars1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure thing. You have to use the plugin pin connectors to route plugs' audio to different channels on the track, then recombine them later with a js plugin to sum the desired channels together. Very complex routing is possible this way. Look around for some cool scripts that visualize channel routing

    Waw! thats why I love Reaper. Can I ask you?. In this video, you use the vst instrument drum or recorded drum? because I really love that drum sound. Thank you Kenny for your very good tutorial.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I may be wrong but it seems to me that it's a beat example from Addictive Drums 2. If that's the case he probably made a render of separate tracks from the plugin, and that's probably why the "raw" tracks already sound pretty good

    This is a form of compression, correct? So much easier than fiddling with compressor settings, which I have a hard time understanding and getting right. And did you just show us NY Style compression without calling it NY compression? Also, this is maybe the first time I've really been able to understand and hear compression - so hourray for that! I can use this on Sitala or reasamplomatic5000 as well as any drum samples and shape the sound more to my liking now. Brilliant!

    I was wondering if you could help me with something I have been hearing about volumizing mp3 tracks. I hear so many different opinions on how you should go about doing this and just don't know what is the best route for this. I have about 300 backtracks, but are all very inconsistent with volume levels. I was wondering what is the best way to get them all very close, without losing quality of the original? Thank you so much for your time and I hope you can answer this for me. I really appreciate it.

    do you ever need to worry about phase issues when processing duplicate tracks in reaper?

    • @tomo3479
      @tomo3479 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Duplicate track, 2. Put for example transient controler on duplicated track, 3. Apply this effect (render) to duplicated track, 4. Zoom in to check any phase issues.

      Kenny…? I’m sorry for the lack of respect in my response! I appreciate every video that you’ve made… and I’ve watched nearly all of them… at least once-if not several times (in reference!)
      I’m truly grateful for your time, energy, and willingness to educate me or anyone who cares and wants to learn music production within Reaper or maybe just in general! I think that, especially this year, that your videos have become more than just “how-to” instructional guides, and you have continued to elevate your videos into more philosophically creative realms
      THANKS KENNY!!! What you do… really really means a lot to me!
