I’ve B8.5 Rs5 and my brother has an E92 M3 DCT. Both great cars with very similar pace, each with their own pros and cons, it’s honestly down to which you prefer, the C63 along with them.
Also have a rs5 b8, if you have to pick between E92 M3 and RS5 and dont know what to take, take the C63. And vice versa 🤣 All 3 are top of their class, none of them is worse or better than the other.
Stop calling it an automatic. It's a dual clutch / dsg and is essentially a manual gearbox with a computer controlled clutch. Also the 2010 had the same interior, so that 2009 Merc is just way behind in styling. Not as bad as old man BMW car, but still not great.
@@braydenbrooks1009 no u say its a dsg cause it for sure doesn’t feel like u are driving a normal automatic especially my old 2011 s4 that thing was aggressive asf
I own the RS5 and love it. Have to admit the steering feel is better in the BMW which I owned in the past . RS5 is a great cruiser and is not afraid to be pulled but you can feel the weight in tight corners . I also own a RS4 B7 which to me is better to drive compared to the RS5. I love both
Car and Driver placed the Audi rs5 in the top ten(came in 10th) fastest on their track in 2013. I have one and yes you will smile every time you drive it! And it looks spectacular!
As a proud 2015 Audi rs5 owner. Rs5 are special. You feel happy all the time driving one of them. The sound is amazing. Is not the fastest but is a good vehicle.
I own an rs5 and let me tell you the fact that i barely see other rs5 on the road plus the legendary v8 sound i get compliments whether im driving the car or not i love bmw but its too oversaturated they are everywhere and that alone makes me love the rs5 even more its basically rare compared to the bmw and yall know thats true rs5 is in a class of its own cant compare it to a car that i see at every corner lol
I just bought my sepange blue Rs5 two weeks ago and owning 3 e92 m3’s in the past I agree the RS feels a little more special and faster but both are great cars!
@@SL9SH Lol, that's the best you could do? Doing a carbon cleaning is a hellova lot cheaper than doing rod bearings and any car that is DI only will get carbon build up the difference (to rod bearings) is that you just loose some performance with build up until you clean it, with rod bearing, you could lose an entire engine....but yeah, good comparison...🤡
@ I’ve donde my bearings so no concern for me neither, a problem to consider for what’s basically a race engine yes, but still the M3 is in another league against a VW product, still you don’t have to like it, but I don’t see why would you say it’s bather in many ways, can’t really understand why
@@SL9SH Those generations of RS5 & M3 aren't competing for the exact same goal so what "league" they're in isn't directly comparable. BTW, the V8 in the RS5 is also "basically a race engine". Their purposes do have some overlap and I think for most people, the RS5 is better pick because the one thing that the E90 M3 can beat the RS5 at (and not by some wide margin) is something most people don't ever do...get it on a prepped track. Plus most people also don't have the skill set to push either car to 10/10 or even 8/10 so the M3's "advantage" is rather moot (again for most people). Red light drag races? RS5. Slightly dirty roads or inclement weather? RS5. Better quality interior? RS5. IMO, the RS5 is better car for most people for most uses. If you want a track focused car and you give zero shit about all of the above, get a Porsche Boxster/Cayman. Also with both cars, I think one very important metric of owning either car is maintenance & how much it hits your wallet. Outside of similar issues with both platforms (regular maintenance, aging hoses, valve cover gaskets, etc.), the E90 has the potential for a few catastrophic problems (both for the car and your wallet), the RS5 has no potentially catastrophic issues. That's why I laughed at you throwing "carbon cleaning" like that's some sort of huge problem. Carbon cleaning won't destroy your motor unlike spun bearings and unchecked leaking fuel injectors, both things being not uncommon the E90 so most people would say do preventative maintenance on both thing ($$$$). And even though the E90 isn't a DI motor, it isn't immune from carbon messing things up (like with the idle control valve going bad from carbon). Plus the E90 has other issues such as what I mentioned before about the unchecked leaking fuel injectors failing (which can lead to a flooded cylinder leading to a replacement motor). What else? VANOS issues (covers disintegrating, failing solenoids and seals, etc), diff leaks, throttle actuator failure, oil leaks from the pan gasket, etc. etc... When I decided to jump into German cars, I was all about getting a M3/M4 as my first German car...until I started doing serious deep dive research into the various generations and talking to friend who owned various German cars....and that's how I ended up with Audis.
Yeah the m3 is a better handling car in general I don't why yours felt lite around corners but when you setup mdm mode with edc and steering adjusted its heavy and tight but as far as interior and power the rs5 is just on another league
Ive droven the holy trinity (E92 M3, W204 C63, RS5 B8). The M3 is not more sporty ... its more wiggly and more "fun". But does not feel like you are riding a racecar. The RS5 gives you that feel for some reason. The M3 may be faster on the racetrack, but the RS5 feels like you are driving a track car. The feeling and emotions are nicer in the Audi. Not wanting to trash talk bmw, thats just how i felt before i bought my rs5. And i have a C63 now too! All three great cars, and the sportiest feeling gives me the rs5 by far.
My guess for the reason why this M3's handling wasn't so good, the car was "stanced" for looks, not properly modified with correct handling/suspension geometry in mind.
Should have compared the B7 Rs4 with the BMW. THE Audi was there first with their V8's along with the Benz. Audi B7 Rs4 is much older than these two cars compared in this video.... will still take the B7 any day...
RS5 has launch mode, and variable steering. Tell the BMW and my Porsche that sometimes it rains except for California of course. My RS5 launch count is zero, but it is there. Auto drive mode does all modes depending on multiple sensor input, I call it schizophrenic mode. I'll stay with a heavy Audi, a lite Porsche and a R53 Mini when I want to weave between the two in traffic.
Good video boys. Having a E92 would’ve been a better comparison though but it is what it is. Design wise inside and out the RS5 is way more timeless compared to the E90. RS5 sounds better as well. More of a Raw V8 sound similar to the M156 in the C63 AMG. Stock for stock The E90 falls flat in every category. E92 falls flat in almost every category except handling and maybe design which is personal preference. The RS5 looks right for any occasion while the E90/E92 M3 just looks sporty/less mature. Not a bad thing but again personal preference.
it aint everything about speed. Those v8 biturbo are all semi automatic reaching only 7k rpm, while the n/a v8 reach the 8.5k rpm with manual stick. Let me tell you, life is much funnier when you are above 7k rpm. I would prefer a manual m3 or rs5(if it exists) than a semi automatic rs6 or m5 only reaching 7k rpm, even if they are faster, they will never have the soul of the n/a v8s
