@@Orangeflava Did you think the VHS tapes just materialized in his apartment without having been meticulously taped decades ago and then converted themselves to digital video, edited themselves, and uploaded themselves to TH-cam?
Thank you Mr. Giller. I can tell that you are a man of passion and dedication. Your work speaks for itself. The world is a better place with people like you in it. Thank you for making our lives better.
This is tremendous. Such a talented group of people and yet so humble. Was must see tv when I was growing up in Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦. Thanks for all the searching and editing Don.
How great was it when John Candy breaks into William B's sycophantic chuckle as on Sammy Maudlin...what a bundle of kind, hysterical love that man was.
Truly great stuff..so funny to see how nervous Dave is sitting in "Johnny's chair" early on & watching Dave trying to explain SCTV. Not exactly like being on Sammy Maudlin! SCTV remains the high water mark for TV comedy..Great compilation..thanks DG.
I have so many good memories of watching SCTV growing up when I was like 14 15 years old. That whole cast lineup they're all very funny and talented people holy fuck man!!!!! 😅😅😅😅😅👍👍
Don SCTV is one of the most underated series from TV. So many of those characters were incredible. I would say Mad TV had a few great ones in the same boat.
I don't think any of them really wanted the show to be there final destination. In a way it was just to promote them. They went on to be highly rated individually and as a group.
Does anyone know where I can watch SCTV full and all episodes, like all seasons all episodes for free. Cause its hard to find, and being a big fan of SNL, watched all the seasons from the start of the 70s til now had alot of fun with it, I would like to see other improv or sketch comedy shows, so just let me know, thanks for the upload, also finished John Candy filmos and tv stuff everything john candy i finished except this sketch show, but hopefully one day i can see it all. its crazy to see john candy smokin back wheen you can smoke in late night and bond movies, john candy had the best and funny parts
I remember this Christmas in July thing--Jane Pauley came on and gave Dave a yearbook from his high school. I remember Dave saying he'd always wanted to get a Christmas special that was earlier than Andy Williams'.
. So......anybody know the "backstory" on Nastassja Kinski's hairdo (1:40:38) ?? It's just SO over the top it almost seems like it HAD to be a publicity stunt of some kind......maybe not on the level of Joaquin Phoenix's infamous 2009 appearance on Letterman's CBS show, but something DEFINITELY done purposefully to try and make some kind of noise in the press......or somewhere..... Anybody know if there was ever any 'follow up' on just what might have been going on with her that night (have to say that she DID seem a little bit "squirrely"......though nowhere near as bad as Farrah Fawcett in HER infamous 1997 Letterman appearance), or if Ms. Kinski ever commented on it after the fact ?? .
Love, love, love SCTV. As an Alaskan, Canada is closer to us than the states. I am very surprised to hear at about 19:46 that Canadians also use the term "lower 48." I thought only Alaskans used that term for the states.

The amount of material, and editing , that goes into these clips is much appreciated.....thanks Don.
It takes work to do this??
Totally agree. Letterman NBC was one of the best things to happen to TV.

Boy, I sure do miss John Candy. What a lovely and talented man. Thank you for uploading these.
I’m watching this thinking the same thing. He was hilarious, and he was sweet.
I will always remember a drunken New Year’s Eve Candy(Johnny Larue?) begging for his one crane shot
Thank you Mr. Giller. I can tell that you are a man of passion and dedication. Your work speaks for itself. The world is a better place with people like you in it. Thank you for making our lives better.
yes Thank You from VA USA.
What kind words. I love to see such loving positivity.
miss this era so much. late night, sctv cast and paul’s band are all so amazing
My two favorite comedy shows of all time - SCTV and Letterman - together x 12 postings. I have died and gone to heaven. Thank you, Don.
🎶 🙏👼🙏 🎶 Same!

What a sweeet man Candy seems to be? Can't get enough John Candy! Love seeing these early on in his career. SCTV fan for life! :)
Joe Flaherty was a genious on sctv. Loved his sammy maudlin show and count floyd.
Thanks for everything you do dude. Watching classic Letterman keeps me sane.
Thanks for putting this together. A lot of great memories.
Thank you SO MUCH for your twelve-part post of SCTV on David Letterman!
So great to see these interviews again, after so many years.
I was just thinking you hadn't posted anything in a while, and now I know why. Holy crap, thanks!
You're the greatest! Thanks a lot for sharing these!
Wow - Paul and the band playing "Take Off" going into commercial was a big smile!
I never knew they appeared as Bob and Doug on Letterman. Seriously cool.
Walter and David!
Wow thanks Don .. this is an Epic Saga
Thanks for this entire 12 part series. I appreciate the work sourcing and assembling these clips.
The pictures of the Candy/Kinski appearance are so cool. Thanks for including them, Don.
How great was it when John Candy breaks into William B's sycophantic chuckle as on Sammy Maudlin...what a bundle of kind, hysterical love that man was.
Good timing, I just finished watching all of the Steve Martin videos (finally) this one is going to take a while! Thank you!

This channel is some serious archival effort, man! I'm impressed.
I've worked at the studio where Bob and Doug recorded their album. I'm Celebrity Adjacent.
Inclusion of the Tribute to Howard McNear is an example of why this channel is the best thing on TH-cam.
You can tell what a nice man John Candy was. And Dave just loves him as much as any guest.
Thanks Don
Wow the line-up Dave announces at about 30:32 for the next night's show is great!
I have so many good memories of watching SCTV growing up when I was like 14 15 years old.

We had the Christmas Album. Getty Lee made a guest appearance " ten bucks is ten bucks, eh."
You're awesome Don Giller, my dad and I loved Letterman!
I had that Bob and Doug album--listened to it a lot. A lot!
these were great comedians.great tv...great days back then..with great days to come...but not now...
Goddamn, I had no idea Catherine O'Hara was so hot when I was a kid.
Edmonton really is a "boom" town. You would never imagine that kind of growth in such an isolated region of Canada.
(18:45) and (20:30)
The screaming! American girls went crazy for Doug & Bob ... just as their mothers had for the Beatles.
Thanks don this is awesome!! Great entertainment ! I can drown out the bickering of my HORRIBLE family! I hate .. Love you thanks giller..

Andrea Martin is great in Difficult People, she's dead funny here too
Dave Thomas can't believe anyone's ever heard of SCTV.
(My mom interviewed Bob and Doug - said they were hilarious.)
Great stuff. Would you be willing to upload the unedited versions on TV Vault?
No longer able to do that.
Dave is a legend

The Andrea Martin bit started off with lovely awkwardness and then went into very professional weirdness.
Wish you kept the cutaway clips.
I kept nothing away but the promotional film and tv clips.
The Great White North!! For Canadian Content. :)
What is Kinski doing here in this collection?
Jfc, it was like interviewing a little kid who just woke up from a nap
Necessary context for Candy’s hairdo.
Don? Why can't you show the video material all the time?
Not clear what you’re asking.
I think he's asking why you don't show clips

Poor John. With his weight and I didn’t know he smoked. Sad.
Johnny LaRue: a big man--getting bigger all the time!
I remember this Kinski/Candy bit so well. Watching this again, I feel like she's actually trying to be funny.
Watch “Strange Brew” which is a very funny comedy.
I wonder why they call it "The Cow"?
Don Giller... "American Hero". (MFer belongs in the Smithsonian).
Kinski….
now SNL j/k
