Great chips for all!
great
India must be careful in giving high subsidies to these chip companies because Chip companies won’t be giving many jobs (but take huge capital) so india must concentrate on creating jobs heavy industries
6:22 R&D is "fundamental" and is difficult to measure. R&D takes its own sweet time: this point is least appreciated in India by most Indians. They argue that if America is able to make it, why don't you?". Also they are too naive & advise "ask how Americans did it; and do it like wise". It is exasperating.
I don’t think he has a clue about what he is talking about when he answers questions about AI. Chat GPT is not AI at the edge. AI chips running on processors like the Raspberry Pi are going to transform the 4IR space, and micron is nowhere near manufacturing such chips in India. In fact, I am not clear what kind of chips Micron is going to produce in India. Is it some confidential thing? I have zero confidence in this gentleman who was interviewed.
Does he even understand the investments needed to do process R&D for new materials for memory, for example? Is India going to replicate the investments made by the West in electron accelerator technology, for example SLAC at Stanford? Nobody has a clue.
