  • Within the Japanese garden in the middles of Showa Kinen Park, there is a separate bonsai tree exhibit. Here many of the trees are 100 years old, and even one that is 300 years old! I didn't know that there are so many different kinds of seasonal bonsai trees; Japanese maple bonsai with the read leaves, or trees with fruits and berries. If you ever come to visit Showa Kinen Park, please be sure to stop by to see these old souls.

    Fake... Nothing can be THIS awesome.

    • @danielkosta3134
      @danielkosta3134 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No not fake. These are real and complete trees. Each has been shaped and developed by bonsai artists over time to achieve what you see here. For most it has taken many years of care and training to reach this point. The trees will live on for many more years as well.

    It's a shame the apexes of the trees aren't shown. And it's also a shame that you skip over all the hardwoods

    Japanese bonsai are not beautiful, all industrial trees are harvested from the mountain, but you do not create trees from a young age.

    • @danielkosta3134
      @danielkosta3134 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some bonsai are collected from the mountains. They have character that would be difficult to develop on nursery grown material. These trees are still shaped and refined by bonsai artists after they are collected. None are left exactly as they were in the mountains. Some bonsai are also grown from cuttings or seedlings. This process takes a much longer time as the msterial needs to mature as it is developed. Either method can produce beautiful and worthy trees.

    Chinese penzai盆栽, not Jap Bonsai.
