    The slipping one makes me think that they probably wanted to add seasons

      There weren't even days of the week in the Sims 1. Why would they add seasons 🤣

      Yes! The game has in its programming every household's year, month and day (usually begins in 1997 lol) , but you can not see it without mods

    1:31 This was probably never going to be in the game. I’m an animator and we use animations like this to test the physics of my 3D animations.

      I thought maybe it was a 'get dizzy' action.

      This animation was definitely motion-captured - looks way too organic to be hand-made. I thought this might have been a test on how well whatever motion capture technique they used handles super fast movement. Looks like it had no trouble with it at all. There were no physics involved in this game...

    Okay whoa that slipping animation literally looks more smooth and realistic than ts4..

    how come almost all of these animations look so smooth like they aren't for a 2000 game

      The first 6 animations from this video are intentionally realistic as the Maxis guys were taking advantage of the motion-capturing technologies, even though they have ultimately agreed that, in the visual and functional context of the game, it made 100% more sense to tell the folks to program the animations with their own hands! A hell of work, huh

    It's amazing all of the extra content they were working on. There's so much character in these animations!

    Some of them look so weird and fluid

      I think it's because atleast in the basic starter pack, they at one point tride to use motion tracking. But I could be wrong.

      Motion-captured animation was a cogitated idea; turns out, though, those "handmade" ones worked and belonged to the isometric landscape way way better , according to one of the trivia from the game's 100-day easter egg!

      @@LUCPIX Hey LUCPIX is the song used in this video from the Urbz (or other sims) GBA?? it seems so nostalgic

    • @LUCPIX
      @LUCPIX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Corkoth55 half right!!! it is played as you make a sim there at GBA's Bustin' Out. Same applies to Urbz, maybe, but we can't always trust our memory. It appears to be one of the very few songs that are not a remixed version of the PC version's OST. They sort of predicted lo-fi or its derivatives- even if as an accident.

    2:45 I've seen a similar animation used for a "What's This?" reaction to dining chairs. The sims look down in a rather comical fashion where their heads just kinda drop down and then they shake their head. What's interesting is that there are no sounds or speech/thought bubbles to go along with it, so it's harder to notice I guess.

      Males could use shrubs in the Sims 2 if their bladder needs were low enough, but only if every toilet was in use or there was none in the lot.

    The 4:19 animation can be seen in this 1998 version of the game. I gotta say that, if the bladder is very low, I think this animation is way better than the final one: th-cam.com/video/zC52jE60KjY/w-d-xo.html&t=1263
