    Also called a Tornado HH knot. Stronger than a palomar. Sunline tested it at 98.8%. Great demo !

    Great minds think alike. You not only have the best PR knot video but I thought I was the only one who uses a vise to tie up my terminal knots.

    Good video i like it. But there’s No need for a chain knot on a 100lb leader. The leader will hold. The purpose of the knot is to dissipate the excess of stretch on the knots in the case of a small leader like 30 to 40 pounds max while fighting a monster of 60lb . The number of kickbacks that the fish will give could untie your knots or destroy you leader-to-solid ring connection. I find it difficult to tie the chain knot on the boat but hopefully i will master it

    Hi Mark, just wondering could a piece of hollowed out assist cord be used as a substitute to the knot sleeve material?
    Thanks heaps !

      @@MarkCotton amazing, I usually always have extra assist cord and hooks with me which prompted the thought as last trip out I had the solid ring cutting through the knot trying to tussle it out with a tough one. Thank you so much, I'll make use of that

    I always hear people saying that the chain knot has heaps of stretch but isn't it just technically a whole heap of half hitches holding the the tag end over the mainline? The stretch is just the normal stretch in the mainline. I do like the protection side of the knot.

    • @MarkCotton
      @MarkCotton  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      compare that to say a uni mate and you will see it has heaps of stretch

    Do you tie the AG Chain the same way on a Jig Star Grommet?

  • @derwinmd
    @derwinmd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome! Can you do a uni knot connection to the solid ring and chain knot after that?

    • @MarkCotton
      @MarkCotton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah you could do dude but no need the uni is a strong knot the beauty of the chain is you can loop around the solid ring a few times to give it beta strength

    Just tied two to try surf fishing. Remember fish hunters, ur not always gonna have a clamp at the ready. So practice without one. Do you have a video showing how to set it up on rod?

    • @MarkCotton
      @MarkCotton  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clamp was the easy way to film the not I normally have an assist hook on end and hook to something on the boat. will have a video coming soon Ricardo

    Would help if you could see it in full plus looks like you require a bench vice lol

    • @MarkCotton
      @MarkCotton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      On a boat you tie your assist to the solid 8 ring first and then put hook over bait board or something to hold the tension vice very easy for videoing haha
