    Been fishing for 35 years mate and I've never seen a knot like this one! I like it, I like it a lot! Ever think about a torch instead of a lighter? It would be good in this situation cause of the directional character of the flame, theres almost zero heat going anywhere but out, you can melt the end and easily avoid the knot being heated or touched. Just a thought.....
    Do you have any options for leader to line BESIDES the FG??? They seem to fail rather easily no matter how well it's done. Everyone uses it despite this so it makes me wonder if it's the only or best choice, thanks for the post bro.

    • @JEWildsFishing
      @JEWildsFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never tried a torch, could be a good option that's for sure. The AG Chain is a very good knot I believe and so easy to tie. I do use a PR knot for braid to leader, are you familiar with them?

      @@JEWildsFishing no I'm not. I'm stuck in Kansas City, centered as far from a coast as it gets over here! I've never been out to sea looking for the fishes.😭
      Most of the equipment I can either instinctively tell how to use or learn real quick, the lines and leaders I've never had to use before so they're all new to me. The FG looks like a good tie, but I've seen too many slip when it counts! If I lost a 50kg fish that way it would destroy me and keep me from spinning for some time, so before I try to hang with the big dogs, I wanna learn some new bits and pieces.....any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hey there mate - thank you for this video! Was wondering why you didn't pass it through the eye of the swivel 2 times before tying the hitches, since this seems to be common practice in other guides?

    Why not use the uni knot it is a lot quicker and it seems to work fine for the guys at morning tide for gt, this still looks great though just looks abit complicated when uni works well unless you think otherwise.

    The first overhand knot surely weakens the whole chain.. as now you have a crossed line.. any overhand knot in a line weakens it considerably. Just do alternating half hitches all the way and finish as you did. that was tested by sunline at 98.8% strong..
