Not clear how a taxi service, even an automated one, can be insanely lucrative, given that competition will be intense.

What competition would that be? Absolutely no one has a generalized solution other than Tesla. They are the only company with the real world driving data needed to solve generalized autonomy. They have almost 8 million cars on the road, each with 8 or more cameras collecting data from every day driving for about 10 years. Waymo?, they are 1 city specific having to HD map the entire city and then learn it. They won't work in another city without going thru the same process again. They have 700 cars on the road and they have a teleoperator for each vehicle to remote steer them, unstick them from danger. That's a salary on top of the $100k per car cost. Tesla can build their average priced model for $30k. Every single Tesla produced is a robotaxi with an over the air update. Uber has to have a driver. A Tesla will last about 8 to 10 years as a robotaxi. Every year driving 60k miles ride sharing at $2/mile. The car only cost $35k to make. Rhey can make them at scale. They will make 50 million or more. Do the math... Tesla will not have any serious competition for at least 5 years. After all that, there is Optimus which will dwarf the robotaxi business. These aren't 5 years out, they will be sold next year. It's a 32 $trillion TAM of which Tesla only has to win 20%.
Tesla has no robotaxi on the street today. The other guys do. That is all that paying customers care about. Tesla is all pudding talk, no proof of. Even if they do come up with something more than promises, some day… the other guys will still be there, competing to the bottom of the profit barrel. How profitable is(‘nt) Uber? Automated taxi service will be a high cost, low-profit commodity business.
You missed energy growing with a new larger megapack factory in China, autonomy coming to the semi trucks, and that all of the country will have robocabs by the end of 2025
Still with Tesla stock, investors can never be sure what will happen next, bearish periods ultimately establish a new set of stocks to buy and watch while setting the stage for a robust new uptrend.
