That is a great way of making a bandsaw box. I have made them in the past. Your plan here will make it easier. I also appreciate the tip with the tape to even out the drawer.

I really liked that idea for the tape as well.

    Brian!
Thank you for this, an awesome instruction and I’ll definitely be checking out your sanding attachment for the lathe!
    Genius!

I like how you did this box and video. The format of showing steps and outcome and not showing the sawing and sanding. Explaining about labelling is nice also. Thanks.

Thank you very much for sharing Brian. This was a neat video and interesting way of going about creating a beautiful bandsaw box. I appreciate your taking the time and explaining the flocking portion of the build. I might incorporate that in one of my next box builds. Thanks again.

Nice video, Thanks for sharing your idea. Came out nice. Didn't understand you when you told us what you'd used for the clear finish. Gluing it together upside down sounds like something I would do. Nice recovery!

Wow nice technique - flocking the slots between the outside and the drawers is a good idea too

That's a really good idea. Much easier to clamp it up, compared to the round shapes.

Instead of tape on the drawer bottom, you could flock the inside instead. Looks better ,smooth drawer action, and it sits up in place.
    Love the innovation, nice work.

That is such a fantastic idea Brian!!!!
I really love the new idea and you really did a super job on the finish. I sure wish I could see more of the glassy finish. I struggle some times to get my finish as perfect as yours. Great job sir!!! :)

To do my flocking I mix PVA glue with a bit of water then I paint it on the inside of my drawer, add the flock and seal it in a plastic bag and shake it to fill. This method eliminates the dust problem

Nice idea and thinking outside of the box ;-) RE: the upside down draws, assuming you cut all of the draws accurately enough, could you not have just switched the draws over to the other side and top to bottom to correct the issue? Although the dowel idea wouldn't have been shown.

I wonder if that was the blade he used for all cuts or did he swap out ? Nice work . Maybe the next video you will show cutting the boxes ? Thanks

I can't even tell if it's a circle or it's elongated by the board in the middle. Anyways, very nice object that would get attention in almost any room.

I absolutely love this! Always enjoy when these ideas evolve.
I've not made one yet but one thing that springs to mind is that if I take two Central cuts and keep the middle, then I could use the cut out middle as the upright at the final glue up stage. Do you think it would be stable enough?
    Thanks and well done again!

If I am visualizing it correctly It should be a great idea. you would still have to make a similar base set up. The grain would match which would even better. I think I added wood of the same color. I will have to try that

    • @IAmPobble
      @IAmPobble 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes that is what I was thinking.
I like the base so definitely going to copy that, makes it into a sculpture almost.
I'm going to try and get one made for the better half this Christmas! I've got some oak that's been calling out to me for a while! Now to just try and get those drawers the right way up! 😆
I learnt the 'mark everything' lesson the hard way!
Look forward to seeing more of your projects.
      All the best

That's as clever as it comes, my friend. How long a time would you say it would take? Assuming one doesn't glue it upside down. lol
Love my sander and use it all the time.
    Cheers, Lee
