A Triplex? So they're actually going for it! Interesting!
I suspect there's some kind of a lift under the tender to get those rear drivers ever-so-slightly off the tracks. Maybe a rotary cam, maybe a skid? We'll have to wait and see.
Fun video, and I think you've "scooped" everyone else!
Im not even a Erie fan but was so impressed I preordered the superset!
I just ordered a Triplex. I heard the tender has no traction tires. Love the wheel slip feature and the swinging bell. Yes it still expensive, but less than the Big Boy. So when they announced this engine, I decided to get one instead of the Big Boy. . I wish I could get both.
I got the super set, and I’m going to get a triplex. I work very hard.
It looks absolutely fantastic! If I had the money to afford one, I would get the #2603 the Matt. H Shay. I’m excited for this locomotive to be released! It looks gorgeous and promising.
I preorderd a vision line triplex number 2063 the Matt H Shay im so excited so pumped so stoked about this gorgeous beauty i have been wanting this behemoth for quite a long time ever since I first saw one that one of my club members purchased from mth. But im not much of an mth fan Lionel is my main brand for locomotives. I think it's fairly priced but that's the suggested price which is still not as bad as the big boy lets face it the vision line big boy is outrageously priced but the triplex in my opinion is more reasonably priced but like I said that's only the suggested price. Im totally stoked about getting this locomotive because of the wheel slip i think it's a great feature and anyone who knows the history of the triplex could even tell you that when the coal and water supply ran low that the wheels under the tender would get less traction so i think it's going to be a top seller with anyone who likes collecting big engines like my self i love big steam locomotives big and unique locomotive's I like them all.
Big steam is definitely cool!! I’m so into all steam even the tiny ones 🚂❤️
BOYS THEY LISTENED FINALLY
Finally a positive comment 👍🏼!!! Thanks for watching!
Ooooh! I can’t wait! 😖
The wheel slip? The tender has its own motor and there are no traction tires on the tender!
I suspect Lionel simply got rid of the traction tires and drive shaft between the engine and tender and added a dedicated motor inside the tender.
I hope Lionel did not bastardized the existing MTH gearbox and drive system inside the locomotive.
On their recently acquired MTH L1 Mikados, they replaced the reliable MTH gearbox with their own. The results was a garbage fire of problems
MR Muffin has Army version offerings. Too big for my budget, besides I have a PS-2 MTH Triplex already. Awesome features but I would have expected it to have Pop off steam at least.
Cool video! Way too expensive for me though.
This is nice but who's gonna spend knowing how Lionel's prices have been going I would say over $6,000 for the Super Set because at some point us the customers are going to be pushing back by drawing a line in the sand saying that we can't keep spending these crazy amounts of money that Lionel keeps pushing and at what point do they themselves Lionel draw a line in the sand and say at some point we're going to have to stop raising our prices because we are going to loose customers if we keep it up we the customers get it that manufacturing cost aren't get any cheaper as the years go buy by but Lionel doesn't have to take advantage of us the customers just becsuse
I have to agree on that i too get that it costs to make the engine parts electrical parts and so on but lionel mth atlas railking bachmann and others do charge way to much for their trains and so on i bought my legacy 4014 big boy for just under 2k and was lucky to get that for that price
🥱
Good for lionel,BAD for customers$2600 + tax😂
Nice looking train but im sure itll cost about $3k and thats alot more change than i have
2200
yup , another obscure locomotive that was a total fail er , that didn't last long
It's just a remake of an MTH Engine, That's all Lionel does is make remakes it's really sad
There is no lift. No traction tires on the tender.
Might get noisy 🤷🏻♂️
@@realtoytrains show me a quiet train, thats why i love O scale my famliy and friends say the whistle and engine sounds are to loud, i laugh and turn it up louder!
