- Oil painting time lapse of a rainy cityscape that I finished recently. It was my first attempt at painting a city in the rain, the painting measures 16x20 inches ♥

I am an artist residing in sunny, warm [humid] florida! My paintings are heavily inspired by nature and its beauty. I work primarily in oil paint, and sometimes watercolor. I prefer to work in a mostly realistic style and occasionally experiment outside of that. I post oil painting time lapses, painting lessons and tutorials, drawings, art tips, and occasionally artist vlogs where I share bits of my life as an artist. Creating art is my greatest passion and I'm thankful for the chance to share it with you. ♥

I attempted to sketch lisa from black pink. It actually turned out good. This is my first time drawing a human face. It took 8 hours. Try it out you'll. Its fun.
I don't actually practice at all. In fact i haven't drawn in 8 months, i just wanted to try after seeing some crappy looking fanarts. None of them were really up to my expectations so i drew it myself. I used the exact measurements and a single shade of pencil and drew it.

I started oil painting when I was 60 years old. The motivation initially was that I tried to paint of Mr. Fuji in the bath room. To begin with, I bought some a oil paint set, and make some practice to start with. Then, I continue to paint as of now. I had been engaged in international sales of electronics, and had visited 33 countries, accumulated thousands of landscape photo with digital camera such as Germany, France, England, all over the USA, Asian counties so I use those my photos for oil painting.

@@juliedeleon999 san, Yes indeed, it's never too late ! Public bath in Japan, Mt. Fuji paint is standard. I was too crazy to try to pint in my bath tube Mr. Fuji paint, still not make yet but some day. Good Luck !

@@chandleytolbert6250 , not really as I still work for AI related IT company as Executive V.P. However, as compared to before, I spend more free time for painting, Gardening and traveling. I challenged grow cherry fruit trees in my garden in Tokyo and now every spring I get many cherries and distribute cherries in my neighbor. It is quite unusual to grow cherry in Tokyo. Painting is endless work and I have to draw Landshut town of Germany for my German friend as I promised him. Still I have a lot to improve my technique. You can see Landshut in TH-cam. You will be amazed to see the town as you would be time slipped middle century.

I fell in love with this painting when it was just black and white--literally. But as you added the red and shades thereof I kept being more and more drawn in. You really captured not just the look, but everything else: I could feel the cool dampness of the air, and I half expected to see my own breath. I could hear the "shishing" of the cars as they drove past. I could smell the rain, too. (I love that smell!) I am thoroughly impressed. I promise that I shall try to buy one of your paintings in the not-too-distant future. Bless you, for your work and for sharing it. Your husband, it seems, is a very lucky man.

This really inspires me because i love how rain reflects lights in city life. i very much want to do things like this as i love realism. i also love that you did it as a night scene, because i feel like that would be very daunting at first to try a night shot so to speak.

Isn't it amazing that you can visualize something,hear something, and or feel something and make it come to life. Takes practice as you can imagine, a lot of practice because dexterity is a skill.

Drawing and art is something I have always wanted to do. I cant even draw a decent stick figure 😂😂 and Being colour blind makes painting like you do alittle difficult , so I settle for watching talented people like yourself instead. It amazes me how artists can catch a moment in time and put it on a piece of paper or canvas and make it look so real. I love watching you tube stuff like this.

I love the landscape of a rainy city during the night! I find the lights of a city to be beautiful, and the rain illuminates the lights so much more by reflecting it in the water; so I'm glad you made a painting inspired by that!

Keep it up with this style. Loose brush strokes is important for realism with oil. Many masters create realism with this technique. Thanks for sharing.
