You should definitely react to the Life goes on MV the deep lyrics are amazing!!!
I would say "House of cards" live, the vocal line there is AMAZİNG! Thanks for all your reacționa!💜💜
Please check out the explanation vedio of IDOL by DKDKTV... also if you watch other songs like fake love, ddeang, boy with love ,silver spoon, spine breaker, daechwita etc that needs and has explanation ... it would be nice if you put those along the mvs
Dope and Not Today!!!! (If you haven’t yet)
I recommend "Not today". This song was my guide to the world of K-pop and made me a BTS fan.
Oh boy, if you think that was speaking directly to the people you should DEFINITELY check out the Cyphers 1-4!
and cypher medley live😆
He still won't get it all without the explanation videos. Explanation video is really nessary with Idol and cyphers, and Dang.
Pleaseeeeeee
He will be flabbergasted by RM's "Joke"🤫
He will have an AVC if he listen to Cyphers ahah Especially with Suga on them
This music video is (among other things) a response to people saying that BTS are too westernized and that they basically lost touch with their roots. Which they never did, but this was (and still is) a favorite talking point of their haters who couldn't handle that BTS made it globally. Mind you, this was way before they made a single all English song, so you can imagine how pressed haters were when BTS released Dynamite.
There's a lot of Korean culture references in this MV (like the bunny in the moon you were asking about). BTS made it as loud and colorful and outrageous as possible on purpose, because this was supposed to be a statement 😆
STRAY KIDS IS THE KING OF KPOP.
Jimin voice is like a special treat for me in bts songs
This is a little beside the point, but if you want to hear a song where they're low-key calling out ARMY, listen to Pied Piper 😂. It doesn't have a music video, but I highly recommend the live performance. It's actually two songs in the performance video: Dimple and Pied Piper, but it's a classic video we often recommend for reactors.
I love pied piper snd dimple ❤❤❤❤
They called us out so hard. 🤣 No lies detected though. 😂
My favorite live of the vocal line!
Jimins voice is magical💜
Yes
Please check out the explanation vedio of IDOL by DKDKTV... you will enjoy it... its really very informative and as BTS emphasizes in their lyricism so I think its really important to know what they are talking about💜
Yes there are definitely some BTS songs where an explanation video is highly valuable and this is one of them as it has a lot of cultural references. Please look for explanation videos if something seems like it should have one and we will watch with you on the same video where you are reacting to their song. Enjoy!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's called "BTS Idol explained by a Korean", one of the best explanations l've seen
Yes. This is a MUST watch!
💯 yes. This song & mv are Korean identity focused, not European. The references are so well laid out in the explained video.
The live performance of Idol at the 2018 MMA is epic! Definitely a must watch.
Idol is meant to be performed in a stadium and I've been lucky enough to experience it live twice. Nothing and I meant nothing can really express how incredible it was to be surrounded by 50,000 people singing, "You can't stop me loving myself!". This song was my gateway into discovering BTS. I loved how chaotic the MV was and once I realized how much this song is a huge FU to their haters while being empowering at the same time sold me on their level of artistry.
I love that you got to be there! And it's seriously the most wholesome clapback ever 😁
“Not Today” is a song directed at the haters who thought they wouldn't make it but then became fans themselves.
My understanding is they were getting a lot of comments that they sold out as Idols and were not "Korean" enough. So in this video they push back and there are a ton of references to Korean culture (that's what the rabbit is) and style of cloths. There are a lot of explanation out there on this MV that go into in detail. Thanks for the reaction.
"Not Today" which quotes Martin Luther King, pumps me up like nothing else can.
It's such a powerful song and U can dance to it but the message packs one hell of a punch.
Are you reacting to full albums on ur patreon? Please let me know.
💜
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Not Today is a really good song of defiance and resilience! I use it (and On) when I really need to push through something difficult.
They literally shake the stage while performing this song live in award show 😂😂
‘Just one day’ ‘I Need U (Original Ver)’ ‘RUN’ and ‘N.O’ are some of my favourite MVs :) Make sure to watch in order when dealing with BU content ! :)
Any song that you can scream, “You can’t stop me lovin’ myself” is awesome and a concert MUST HAVE. Crowd goes crazy!! We know the Korean words and the dance!! This is their main message for ARMY!!!💜 IDOL is addictive. Lots of Korean cultural references here.
Also there are African components: Giraffe, able to reach things others cannot. Sunrise/sunset over a dusty African plain. (Unlike Korea, a land of mountains and rivers.) Suits tailor made of Ankara fabric. Arches and columns: Morrocco. Police whistle for rhythms as in African street dances. Khaki safari clothes? Jungles and palm trees. South African Gwara-Gwara and Nigerian Shaku Shaku dance moves. African beats fused with Korean traditional beats.
But Africa has no naturally occurring tigers! The majestic tiger appears in the MV as a symbol of Korean identity since ancient times. Tigers once roamed the mountains of Korea, and it was known as the Land of Tigers. (Google "tiger korea")
Ya , you HAVE to watch this live!!!!!!! Watch Idol from Busan concert!!! Crazy good! They gave it everything because it was their last concert before going into the military. And yes, once you Jim in you cannot Jim out!!! The man is mesmerizing and his voice is ethereal!!!
I saw them perform this live in LA in 2021. Idol blows the roof off! 💜🔥
Since you have said that this one live must to be amazing, yeah, it is, maybe you could check out the MMA 2018. They performanced fake love, airplane pt 2 and this song with solo introducing dances of the 3J. The solo part of Jimin won a award BTW. The MMA 2019 is awesome and bigger, but the 2018 one have a special place in my heart 💜
Would you also please react to Fire?? 🔥🔥
I love Jimin's sweet voice 🥰
"Idol" played out loud in a stadium is like one of those World Cup anthem songs... people jump up and down to it, BTS members are so hyped up running all over the stage, and ARMYs are singing along to it at the tops of their voices... you might lose both your voice and your mind when you experience "Idol" live in a huge concert venue... like maybe Wembley or some such huge space... it's just immense!
Their live version of this is insane! There's a part in their concert where they do a medley of their hype songs and even just watching them on the screen you will definitely be jumping up and dancing. Then you need to wind down from the rush...hahaha!
Live, this song has been known to shake the stage 😁 it's intense.
At this point I think every working idol knows this dance. The song is iconic, the performance is as well. Everyone else has gone into why it's special 😁
You should check out the explanation of IDOL. There's whole lot more in this video than what we perceives in naked eyes
BTS has had so many haters from the beginning until today for no reason at all other than they are super talented and still the very best good humans who are so humble and loving. Idol addresses many of the comments from haters specifically. There were drawings shown in the background that were drawn by some of the members that have meaning as well. This video is jam packed full of Korean culture. I LOVE they said MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. It was well deserved to all those who keep sticking their noses where they don’t belong spouting lies. Idol will always be Iconic. You can watch behind the scenes MV sketches that will explain the drawings and show a bit of the MV making. All their MVs have them. Between the MVs, explanation videos, dance practices and the MV sketches, BTS has provided us so much content. Yoongi’s concert D-Day tour has comforted us for over a year now and content for it continues to roll out. There just isn’t any other artists like BTS. I am silver Army and have seen a lot of artists over the years. None of them can touch BTS. BTS has extraordinary talent, but they have the best personalities and are truly the best people. Despite their super star status, they are the most humble celebrities I’ve ever seen. They will forever hold a special place in my heart.
If you watch their 2018 MMA performance for Idol, it'll blow your brains off. It literally received awards because of how culturally significant it was!
I wouldn't be lying when I say that as soon as I saw this come up as a notification, I pressed on it immediately lol
watch the live version at an award show--- IT WAS INSAAAAAAANE BTS Intro + 'IDOL' @ Melon Music Awards (MMA 2018)
Their live performance of Idol on Jimmy Fallon is epic. It was circa 2021 and streamed from South Korea. They were all wearing traditional Hanbok, and they smashed it.
This is one of my all-time favorite BTS songs. Meaning, sound, clip, dance. Everything is perfect.
I wasn't a fan of this song when I first watched the MV, because I got so distructed by everything, but as fast as I heard them sing it live, I fell in love with this song!
The way you’ve Jim-ed-in! 🤣🤣 also BTS are the most DIRECT artist out there. There’s just so much you haven’t seen yet. Looking forward to you seeing more ☺️☺️ thank you for your reaction 💜💜
The clip of them playing the EDM version of IDOL at a stadium in Japan is one of my favorite live performances by any artist.
If you think Idol is crazy, you’re not prepared for Blood, Sweat and Tears the Japanese version of the MV 😂
The live of this they did for Jimmy Fallon’s BTS week is phenomenal!
They all have types of music genres that fits your mood. I even created my personal playlist of just BTS songs if I need to relax, take a nap, study, work, workout, in the shower and my all time favorite songs I while travelling
BTS - Light, it's amazing song
and 'louder than bomb'
Anpanman is another fun song that has deep lyrics. There is no music video, but when they performed it live at their concerts they would blow up giant bouncy castles on stage and just play on them while they were singing. But make sure to read the lyrics, because even though the song and the performance are playful, the message is about wishing they had super powers so they could save people, but ultimately realizing that we can all still be heros even without powers if we are willing to give a part of ourselves to others.
Since this song dropped, there was never a concert that they did not sing this. This song is always the highlight of the their concert because it perfectly conveys their mantra "Love Yourself." There numerous live performances of this song which are all amazing but I suggest you react to MMA 2018💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for your reaction to this wonderful song. 💗
I love her so much. This song was the first one I listened to by BTS after I found out that Jungkook is the main vocalist of BTS. My history:
“I really love sports, including football. I always watch all the World Cups. In 2022, when the World Cup was in Qatar, I sat down to watch the opening ceremony. And there I heard and saw Jungkook performing the song “Dreamers.” I didn’t immediately realize that he was Korean. And then I read about it. And since my daughter has been listening to K-pop since 2013, and since 2015 she has been an Army (she was 18 years old then, and now she’s 27), then I have. I asked her who this guy is? And she told me who he is. And then I decided to see who BTS are and listen to their songs. And the first two songs that I listened to were: “Idol” and “House of Cards.” And so it turns out that Jungkook and these two songs brought me into the fandom. I regret that I didn’t do this earlier, although my daughter listened to them all the time, she has albums, posters, and books of them. But for some reason I didn’t give it any importance and didn’t pay attention to them.”
Very beautiful, colorful clip. The guys here are very bright.
Amazing BTS! Talented, beautiful, charismatic, funny, very kind, modest, hard workers! They are the best! The guys whom the whole world loves and is waiting for their return in 2025.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
This is my favorite BTS song and you are 100% right, this song bangs hard live. Check out their 2018 MMA awards performance for just a taste of how good it is.
Okay!!next : The Rise Of Bangtan Series and The BTS hardships for more knowledge💜💜
I wouldn't say the music for this song is very European, the song is primarily an Afrobeats song, but particularly of more South African origin, mixed with traditional Korean instrumentation. Even their dancing is based on a mix of South African and Korean dances.
Was going to say same thing 😁
Their performance with this song on MMA 2018 is incredible, it's literally a masterpiece! Definitely must see 💜
this song is absolute insanity live i can attest
One of my real life ARMY friend, a very distinguished and respectable lady, went down the rabbit hole after she listened to this song and its message. It's an awesome song.
Talking about doing this song live, they performed at Seoul's Gyeongbokgung Palace, one Korea's most iconic location, wearing hanboks (Korea's national costume) for Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show. It was groundbreaking. They also performed this at MAMA award 2018, shook the stage literally that many idols watching there could feel the quake!
It’s amazing live I love the concert version x
Great reaction! I think you’d enjoy Pied Piper (live) and the Cypher part 3 from Live in Busan. Idol goes so hard in a concert, there’s nothing like hearing tens of thousands of Army screaming “you can’t stop me loving myself.”
You are correct when you say this must be great live. It’s unreal. The energy is incredible, Jimin kicks his leg to the moon! Also just as hype is So What live. (Not a MV, but worth a look at the live of it).
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
A must see is Baepsae dance practice, lyric explanation and live performance compilations! (Be prepared to be a j-hope bias during that one though)🫢
Another banger live is Attack on Bangtan, it’s old, but it does not get old!
0:25 yesss save me , I need u (original ver ), run , let go , danger , butterfly
Ahh this was my first comback 😤 it is close to my heart ahh 💜
Idol was the first song I heard of BTS. It was the in studio performance of Idol on Jimmy Fallon show and I was blown away. I became an instant army without knowing who BTS was and then became obsessed old lady.
when I started to see kpop was in the day this song got out ...after that well got to pure addiction
You’d probably enjoy the “making of” My Universe (Coldplay and BTS collab) and the Carpool Karaoke with James Cordon. You’ll thank me for it.
Yes you should see the live performance it's amazing you could see 2018 mma live idol
Jimin voice is so unique you can recognize him even if their is 100 singers in the room I'm in love with his voice
Idol is special for me, it's my first BTS song and l love it! 💜💜💜
Ahh I loce this song in concert it is one that really stands out ..
ICONIC !
It drives me crazy too!! I can bow out of it!!
The live version on Jimmy Fallon show is so good
IDOLLLLL❤❤... Oh yes you are absolutely right Idol live is a banger❤❤❤
I just NEED you to react to “CYPHER PT.3: Killer” Yet to Come BUSAN CONCERT
That one is a MUST!!! My gym song for sure!🔥
Also, IDOL Live MMA 2018 is another level!!
Please react to live performances of BTS and you will also see a lot more from their characters.
You will love the live performance of spine breaker!
Idol at the 2018 MMA live performance is incredible❤️🔥✨️
Wait until you watch all the Cyphers 😆. That will be totally direct 😉💜
Regarding the rabbit in the moon: In Korean culture, rabbits are associated with the moon and longevity. This is due to the story of the moon rabbit, which is told in the Tale of Jeseokcheon(S'akrodevandra) and the Tale of Hanga (Chang'e). The story is about a rabbit that sacrifices itself to feed an old man who is later revealed to be the celestial deity, Śakra. This represents the Buddhist virtues of compassion and selflessness.
This song was one of those songs that grew on me over time. I love it now. Please watch it live 2018 MMA.
I got to know about BTS when I was reading an article about a Korean boy group using a sound/genre (gqom) and dance from my country South Africa with this song 😊😊 this song was my invitation to be an Army and it's one of my favourite if not favourite 💜💜
Please react to their dance practices of their songs - I am sure you will enjoy watching them.
If you think this video is great, you ought to see them do Idol live in concert. I've been to 100's of concerts and this song is so powerful live between BTS and
Army. You need to check it out next time they tour!
The best song live.
Oh oh oh oh🕺💜💜💜
It has an Afrobeat and contributed the Korean culture more . You're the first reactor who thought it sounds European 😂
Yes, It's very very good live you can watch Idol live on MAMA 2018 &2019
Yay he saw my comment to listen to idol🎉🎉🎉
u should check this video so u can understand what is happening when they sing IDOL...BTS 'Idol' Live - Shake The Stage (Idols Reaction)
Oh, Jimin is absolutely your bias lol and Suga is your bias wrecker lmao!!! Idol is so fun and i think came at the same time as Boy With Luv as well, so the vibes were super bright and fun! as for another group to react to, I ask so kindly for MONSTA X Shoot Out! I really think you'd vibe wit MONSTA X! If not Shoot Out, definitely Love Killa! I so enjoy your reactions and the way you're like really delving into the songs and mv's!!!
A video not a lot of reactors do is Black Swan but the Art Film video. It's beautiful even tho they don't personally appear on it.
I love that you dive into your reactions from them! Thanks for that!
okay, you are easily my favorite reactor right now. you actually put effort in to your listening experience!
as for the song, i wasn't the biggest fan of this one when i first heard it. then i saw their MMA and MAMA performances... this song is made for the stage. it made sense after that 😄 it stays on my playlist now.
Idol MMA 2018 was amazing performance 🎉🎉🎉
Definitely check out all the cyphers by bts, they’re also very direct! (Maybe also the explanation videos along with it)
If you want a visual and cultural masterpiece, check out their live performance at MAMA 2019🤌🏼my absolute favorite of IDOL
I know you're only watching their music right now but during IDOL promotions, they appeared as the music guest on Graham Norton in the UK. UK shows are insanely exclusive, especially Graham Norton and usually on Graham Norton the music guest comes on at the end, performs, then joins the other celebrity guests for a very very short interview. They performed IDOL on the show and then had one of the best western interviews they've had. A lot of Korean and US fans didn't like the interview because they thought Graham Norton was rude to them but that is so untrue, Graham spoke to them and joked with them like he does every single guest, it's purely British humour that people didn't get. And even if people thought the British humour was rude, Graham didn't act or speak any differently than he would any guest. Totally fine. But anyway, it's a great interview that I highly recommend.
This song was for the haters. They claimed BTS used CGI in their videos (barely), so BTS gave them as much as possible. They complained about RM using Snapchat filters during his lives, so he used them in here. They said BTS was becoming too westernized so they packed this FULL of traditional Korean references. They made fun of Suga and RM for being idols because you can’t be a “real” rapper if you’re an idol - BTS said call me whatever you want, it doesn’t matter to me or my fans. “Can’t stop me loving myself!” The classiest middle finger ever. 🤣
Idol it's the mother the live performance is an another level of hype
They have made the artists area/siting on GDA (Golden Disc Awards) move their is fan cams of the artists reaction to it happening.
On a concert the stage started to collapse when they did this performance and they personal under the stage was holding it up till the performance was over and they told the guys about it and they were told not to do any dancing for the last songs because of the risk of the stage. This was documented by their camera team that filmed for their behind the scenes documentary of their concert and tour.
There is a mv for this with Nicki Minaj that they also did a dance challenge that was included from the fans in that video.
Jimin got a culture award for his fan dance performance on MMA (Melon Music Awards) that they did in 2018.
I highly recommend the 2018 mma performance of this song with korean instruments. So epic
This MV came after a lot of criticism about becoming too “western”… so it explodes with Korean cultural references (yes the rabbit in the moon!) there is an explanation video from dkdktv that fleshes out the visual references..
As for lives there is a bangtan bomb if there mma performance that is pretty spectacular ….
💜🇨🇦
You must watch live performance of this song!!
I love the MMA 2018 live performance of Idol 💜💜💜
I agree with others comments... you need to react to Cyphers by the Rap line, Ddaeng ... these are more diretly to people
They face everything directly if you think about their songs! There are songs addressed to haters, to society's sistem etc according to to the emotions they are going through. Some songs are to and for ARMY, than songs that has helped people with "spread love" message! You should dive deeper into the BU 'cause it' s really something else!
I love this song especially live awesome reaction
I'd love a reaction to 'Dope' please... It's one of their earlier songs, but one of my all time favourites
Amo BTS sempre 💜💜💜🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thanks RM for always giving us great song🙇♀️
If you wanna see a really direct response to the hater you definetely should watch cyphers 1-4 , daeng too, the rap line songs are directly to the haters... they have a incredible types of music generedes... that is why the always been the kings!! :D:D:D
You should definitely watch mic drop + idol live of concert there is a video on youtube where the boys goes completely wild with the performance. That live performance is just fire.
IDOL was far from my favourite track sonically when it was released, but seeing at live at the O2 and then Wembley was so hype I fell in love with it
