The sound of that bike is like music to my ears. Loved the whole concept of the transmission. We can ride those types of bikes here in the UK but I've not seen one.
as someone that can drive a manual car, but not a manual bike here in the UK. after watching this i feel like this would be much easier to learn than the hand clutch and foot gear system that i've seen on bikes here
Wrong Brett... The bike would NORMALLY require the left foot to hold the clutch in at stops. This system is set up so that you do NOT need to use the foot clutch to start from a dead stop or feather it while stopped on hills. It IS an automatic until you need to shift into higher gears. You don't even hold it in (or down ) with this plate installed. Some of us don't even use a manual clutch for those shifts above first, so your actual use of the foot clutch is completely dependent on your riding skills and the familiarity with your bike. I'll even match my revs to downshift smoothly w/o clutching, but not from second to first. Heres a link to a similar unit... It looks like a centrifugal clutch pack so I wonder if you can take off in ANY gear with it when it's installed on a high torque bike such as a Harley... Hmmm. www.denniskirk.com/rekluse/radius-x-clutch-rms-6202.p384972.prd/384972.sku?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1NzZBRCoARIsAIaMwuv5T0ElsSm-mI6-adzusr0TWjpujVR3ULySB9ynOB7ffxZ-WFT1ZscaAjnnEALw_wcB&ad=244288899519

This is the first ever chopper build I genuinely envy. It looks sweet, not too rustic, (or rusty lol) and this suicide shifter looks super simple to operate.
Thats because its not a suicide shifter. He made this bike easier to operate than factory. A suicide shifter is extremely difficult to operate because they remove the front brake and still have to operate the clutch with their foot. Meaning that they cant put their feet down when coming to a stop unless they put it in neutral ahead of time
No it isn't. Suicide shift = short lever positioned below the ass close to the drive chain + manual foot clutch, meaning you have to have real good one hand control of bike, good feel for the clutch with your foot, plus your risking loosing your fingers every gear change - it's called suicide for a reason.
I think it applies the same logic as suicide doors. The shift is backwards to a normal sequential in a car. Don't quote me on that but that's why I think it's called that.
It's cool but I wouldn't want it. I'd feel weird about having to take my hand off the handle bar so much. Looks sick though. Love the look of the high front end though.
I usually ride with one hand on the throttle and my other resting on the tank or in my lap or hanging, and that's with a handlebar clutch. To gear shift up, I just rev match (blip the throttle), and then only use the clutch to shift down or when stopped. It's all personal preference and appearance. I'm planning on building an old school chopper with some kind of suicide/jockey shifter.
Matt Naquin I thought that until I sold my car, I ride with relatively low handle bars but after 5-10 miles of nonstop riding I can’t help but rest my left hand on the tank. Now suicide shifter is like the ideal setup for me, too bad I can’t spend 20k on a bike worth modifying that far. I’ll stick to my Suzuki savage 650 for now. Budget bike that just won’t die 9/10 would recommend, 1,400 for that sweet ticket to the 50mpg and up club.
@@CR-kr9cs you now you and your boyfriend here could just buy automatics instead of standard and you could rest both you hands on each other's dual tank sacks.

I think I'll end up putting in that upgrade before I do so he doesn't have to worry about stalling. Thanks for teaching me something new today and take care!
fun fact about auto clutches, a lot of small (non-racing) dirtbikes have them! i used to have a honda 110cc and my brother had a honda 50cc that both had an auto clutch, and this is standard with yamaha too. also, theres is no clutch that you press at all on those smaller bikes, you just let off the bas and shift with your foot. 125 is usually where they start including manual clutches
I am speechless. This standard of living is unthinkable for me in Germany. The house size. Three bikes, a jetski and a truck. Super clean neighborhood AND no dmv that regulates every nut and bolt you swap on your bike. A bike without turn signals? Not in Germany. And I'm far from poor. Own two houses and have couple of hundred grand in the bank. But this? Blows my mind
The whole "the clutch doesn't pop in first" system looks very clever to me... I'm not a bike guy, but this setup seems extremely sweet. This might be one of the few bike I'd like to actually learn to drive
Yeah older Harley’s from like the 60s have jockey shift and the clutch is on the pedal like his but they have to use the clutch in first and it looks really scary compared to this.

P.S check out my comment below this one, i already checked it out yesterday. But who am i to be knowing anything about these things...🙂👍👍
Outdoorzvet did you read my original comment that i had actually posted...plz read that first. I clearly mentioned that i have been trying to install a suicide shifter for some time but feared the foot clutch, but i liked this setup so i was asking where i could gget one like this. But you didn't understand the first msg and just like any other asshole, got on the Trolling bandwagon to say mean shit. Secondly after i searched into the comment section, i already saw the rekluse website link and checked them out, but they presently don't have this setup designed for harleys later than 2016. So that is what my second comment was, if you check out the comments section, you might see my comment regarding the rekluse website. And ya about you saying that people are saying this because of what i had said earlier, well that means that just because i haven't ridden a suicide shifter with a foot clutch before, so that means that i shouldn't ever ride one. So by that logic i understand that you were riding motorcycles with suicide clutch since you were a toddler?? Everybody's gotta learn, right. Well according to you i shouldn't ever ride it coz i'm a pussy...well what can i say. And ya finally, if you really were trying to help me, you wouldn't be saying all this mean shit, you would just say that "go to the rekluse website and check out if they have something for your motorcycle"...that would have made sense, rather than this nonsense comments, trying to troll me. But anyways you have a great day ahead. Keep riding.🙂🙂👍👍

That auto clutch is a fantastic idea. Love it!
It’s not a auto clutch, he uses the clutch with his left foot
You are both right on this one. The clutch automatically engages when you let off the throttle but you need it for shifting tho
Mine me - I couldn't find the Spike version of this clutch. I was thinking of a similar unit for my wife's bike (standard hand clutch) and was wondering if yours came in at a lower price tag. I found a WICKED one @ disabledmotorcyclerider.com, but I think it's overkill and wis gonna flatten my wallet. Possibility for a link?
common logic I definitely misspoke while making the video. I had just order some gun parts from spike tactical. But the company that makes this clutch is Rekluse, it'll run you about $900 tho

Meaning that they cant put their feet down when coming to a stop unless they put it in neutral ahead of time
2% comms are about his garage...
other 98% comms aout grove street and CJ
With how little he is wearing and the fact that his hand comes off the handlebars... that is a -suicide- shifter
No it isn't.
Suicide shift = short lever positioned below the ass close to the drive chain + manual foot clutch, meaning you have to have real good one hand control of bike, good feel for the clutch with your foot, plus your risking loosing your fingers every gear change - it's called suicide for a reason.
@@andyg.8971 too many people in this comment section got no idea wtf theyre talking about
I think it applies the same logic as suicide doors. The shift is backwards to a normal sequential in a car. Don't quote me on that but that's why I think it's called that.
No front brake and the friction plates in original “Foot clutch” removed or loosened, with “Jockey Shift” this is “Suicide”.
@@rydoggo no, that's not why it's called that lol
It's cool but I wouldn't want it. I'd feel weird about having to take my hand off the handle bar so much.
Looks sick though. Love the look of the high front end though.
I usually ride with one hand on the throttle and my other resting on the tank or in my lap or hanging, and that's with a handlebar clutch. To gear shift up, I just rev match (blip the throttle), and then only use the clutch to shift down or when stopped. It's all personal preference and appearance. I'm planning on building an old school chopper with some kind of suicide/jockey shifter.
Sissy!
