Awesome to see you working with your boy. My son (also 9) and I do the same. In the winter I set up a Sklz Hurrican in the garage and got him a swing tracker. Kids really love having data and challenges. It is really the best way to push them to work. I was looking to get that bat for my son but I couldn't find a 30 inch and I got an awesome deal on a Rawlings Icon!

Hey Matt, how is the durability of this bat? My Son is 9.5 but a big kid, just over 100lbs and quite strong. Currently he uses a Marucci F5 and my biggest concern is dropping the cash on a composite to have it break on him.

Question, any particular reason why you are throwing from a knee? I've seen some people say that even for older boys that's a better way to throw over soft toss and even regular BP toss

That’s a good release point for a 5 ft tall kid at that distance. Otherwise the plane of the pitch is 45 degrees

Yes if I throw standing the ball will come too far down to him. A knee gives a little more realistic ball flight

Hi coach. Couple questions about that Hit Trax system, not the Hype bat. Since we play in a USA bats only league.
Was confused about the hit distances versus actual OF wall distances at Fenway, until you guys mentioned the CF fence was "166" there at HitTrax Middleton (versus ~420 in Boston at the triangle). How's that work? Do you adjust for each student to be appropriate for their home fields IRL or age cohort?
When you shrink/set the field distances in the app, what dimension(s) are you controlling? Can you set each OF dimension manually, does it scale automatically if you enter/adjust just one?
Does it adjust the distance of bases and location of the infielders accurately?
(Is defensive range adjustable in settings? So you can make the 3B or SS better for example. Our son hits .500 to .850 in LL, U10 to U12 seasons, but with many hard hit grounders getting through porous defense in town LL. Results very different vs better travel teams.)
Overall how do you rate Hit Trax for accuracy of batted balls finding IF holes and OF alleys, versus just exit velo and glorious flaming dingers on YT?

The fields are automatically adjusted based on the players age. I don’t believe you can manually adjust. And I don’t believe you can increase the defenses ability. I will reach out to them and see though!
