At Broken by Concept, we seek to service the League of Legends ranked solo queue community, through our weekly educational podcast and our occasional player case studies. These case studies aim to shed light on players who misrepresent their solo queue experience, victimize themselves and normalise unsportsmanlike behaviour within the community. These players are not only ruining the ranked experience for themselves, but for everyone else around them. We hope that by connecting a player's words with their gameplay, we are able to disprove the narratives they push, while helping audiences distinguish between fantasy and reality. Players like this exemplify what happens when you adopt toxic narratives and let them control your ranked journey. We hope this video will help you better understand the solo queue experience, and the benefits of building a healthy relationship with this great game we all love. Join us in dissecting the common narratives that plague our community such as: - Blaming teammates for their mistakes, while not taking accountability for their own - Ignorance towards how their in-game decisions are affecting the outcome of the game. - Putting a disproportionate amount of attention towards matchmaking (losers queue) - Thinking about and discussing the game in absolutes. - The dangers of champion and role hopping. Constantly looking for the next LP gimmick And many more... Finally, two questions for you: 1) Does Dillerus represent the type of player you want to have on your team? 2) Have you ever found yourself exhibiting any of the above behaviours? If so, how has it impacted your journey?
1) no I'd really rather not have Dillerus on my team. 2) I used to always blame others for my mistakes, and not think about how my in game decisions affect others. I have improved on this. Now I have the issue of getting demoralised when I don't zoom up the ranks as fast as I want.
I think I’ve had the problem of getting obsessed over my teammates mistakes. It comes from wanting to control the game state and it can drive you crazy to see your teammates doing things that result in you having less control. It takes patience and confidence to believe you don’t have to control every tiny thing because you can carry and climb over the long term. I think this attitude also leads to toxic behaviors, like revenge inting a game or flaming teammates as a pathetic attempt to recover a feeling of control
It's honestly intense how much he ruins the game for others, but thinks others are the reason he can't climb and inting his games. It's riot, the mechanics, his team mates, the opponent champion, just anything that isn't him. And he says he is having fun in league of legends when this is what he's doing in his games and how he's treating others. Probably getting more "fun" out of yelling at team mates than actually playing
“I always dominate top lane because I am more mechanically gifted and will solo kill them twice. You will never beat me unless I am heavily counter-picked.” -*Picks Vayne into Garen* -*loses lane* -“Mid diff”
As a chall Vayne top otp that Vayne game was especially hard to watch and then the audacity to type an essay to his team in that same game. He's like the epitome of what not to be and the fact that he claims chall analysis coaching is horrifying to me. Like a doctor without a degree, delusionally writing health threatening prescriptions.
@@BrokenByConcept Sure, Garen is one of the easiest matchups for Vayne. I would personally run fleet but PTA is fine. LS start isn't bad but I would choose between dblade and cull, since he's into so low threat here he can simply go cull, almost as much ad as LS and huge gold payout and can still play aggressive, this can be combined with cutdown as HP discrepency will be large, but he went last stand. Also wouldn't max W here, Q max allows you to push the pace of the game harder vs their squishy comp and the Garen. Getting into the game, right away you would want to establish bush control, zone the Garen lvl 1 from xp, poking him and using bushes to de-aggro creeps constantly. Viego is farming towards top, so I would try to zone, poke and try to crash 3rd/4th wave and ping my viego to potentially dive him (In Saskios clip we can even see him diving Garen on 4th wave without jungler, which also is possible, but imagine how doable it is with jgler). Because the Garen opted for ghost instead of tp he is extra vulnurable to this as he can't tp back and catch some of the wave after the dive. Successfully zoning him from xp lvl 1 and building a huge wave with a dive when he has no tp could mean a 3 lvl advantage early after 3-4 minutes, which is a lead you can completely take over the game with. Potentially this might also open up an opportunity for you and Viego to invade Ivern and zone Garen from re-entering the lane between the t1 and t2 towers. Else we simply base, get our item advantage and look to freeze and zone Garen off the creeps on the bounce back. From here on, I will go into some more specific mistakes with time stamps: 14:01 - Q's instead of auto + Q to maximize dmg 14:03 - Autos instead of E'ing Garen into the wall (proceeds to blame he couldn't E but it was due to him inputting an auto attack and then losing vision afterwards). 14:05 - E'ing Garen instead of holding it, Garen has to flash there else Viego W's his melee range and you get your E off, so we shouldn't E, saving the huge mana cost and proccing PTA while dealing a lot of dmg to him (potentially leading up to a dive with the Viego). 14:24 - Pokes too deep under tower with tower shot being ready (we can see it just fired on a minion, that's why it so quickly aggro'd). 14:55 - Not de-aggroing the casters + cannon properly, taking a bunch of dmg with no potions left, no fleet, no sustain from dblade or cull. 15:35 - Huge recall timing, 1200 gold, wave crash, no pots, weakside, low hp, grubbs spawning. Vayne has the worst waveclear in the game, we have no tp, you need to find good recalls. Sitting on the LS here too we can't really pressure as hard as we could and take over the lane completely. 15:51 - Poor micro, stands still instead of moving back, this would allow him to AA, AA + Q (PTA proc + pta enhanced W proc), we can then potentially chase Garen put him very low if not killing him and with that HP advantage we could look for a new crash + base timing. Not wasting E when not needed is big too, because it costs 90 mana which is three Q's (30 mana fixed every rank). 16:04 - Q should be to the side instead of forward, to maintain spacing, de-aggro the casters faster and most importantly not give garen an opportunity to Q + E you if he plays it properly, we can die there (can't flash when silenced). 16:06 - Spacing mistake, moving into garen failing to maintain the range, which causes us to flash. I went full nerd here, but I want to highlight how much there is to it, if you want to reach the absolute highest level, here is where your attention should to be.
The thing about tower reaction time is simple. You attack the champion as soon as the tower shoots at a minion, this gives you the longest amount of time before the tower can target you. If you hit a champion when the tower projectile just lands on the minion it can instantly fire at you. This is something every single person who plays lanes should know. I'm a jungle main and I know this
Same in reverse. You wanna play footsies based on this timing to avoid being harassed under turret or even make the harassment punishable if they get greedy about it.
While that's true, turrets legitimately used to have a wind-up timer after selecting a new target. Probably been a long time since that was reduced though.
Hey someone mentioned you guys used my clip in this video and had to come over and check it out Watched the video and this is very well produced and love the overall vibe! New sub from me!
“Being harder on others than on your self” is such a terrible attitude yet it’s quite common that’s a sad state for any community to be in. Thanks Nathan and Coach for teaching a productive outlook
In solo queue, I focus on myself. When I play in the amateur league I play in, I am very aware of when I am playing well or bad. However, due to being part of a team, I am VERY critical of my teammates. It's harder to win in a pre-made team environment if people aren't pulling their own weight than it is in solo queue. Also, unlike solo queue, I am actively playing with the same people over and over again. In solo queue, I MIGHT get you two games in a row. The only consistent thing is me being in my own lobbies every game. The same can't be said for pre-made team games.
My favorite part was “emerald players have the biggest ego” when he’s emerald and puts “challenger level player” in his video titles. Like okay yeah guess you’re right about the egos…
@@jamsolidhes masters. People are so delusional and think league is a solo game when its fundamentally a 5 v 5 game. Its crazy to think teammates running it down or soft inting isnt a huge issue for people trying to climb. Yes it is good to analyze your own gameplay but none of you people cannot deny that other players can deliberately fuck you over if they are in a bad mood.
@@Palindrome3945 and the guy in question is at least high diamond. I dont blame him for thinking the way he does but his mentality and attitude can be stifling to his growth as a player. Does it mean hes wrong for how he feels? No. People DO run it down in emerald on league. And people even in diamond do the same stupid shit.
It's actually crazy how after I started watching you guys I started seeing your sentiment about champ mastery reflected in a lot of other high elo streamers. Polypuff recently had a AMA video, one of the questions was someone asking "what are some macro tips for a low elo player like me" and his response was "if you're below diamond don't even worry about macro, just focus on mastering your favorite champion, macro comes naturally through experience, trying things and seeing what works and what doesn't". I thought "woah that's what da boys at BBC would have said".
@@TheTCM lmao knowing your champ has nothing to do with letting your towers die for free or to minions. Literally just look at the map, its the most basic thing to do when you notice you cant be of use yet
Basic knowledge of how to play your champ is a no-brainer. Being able to do every combo and all these nuanced situational trick/exploits (perfectly) should not come before having a good grasp of macro. Thats why most people would say, pick a simple champ, so you can learn how to play the game before learning how to animation cancel on riven and do the Shy. There was even a rank 1 Riven who said this same stuff. Either way, everyone learns differently.
Two things that stuck out to me: 1) It seems some of his toxicity is because his life is in a rough place (that quick comment about being jobless) 2) “Your rank defines your worth” He has to delude himself because it would be too painful to accept where he is at.
48:10 literally had this EXACT moment happen in a ranked game yesterday. It’s 40 minutes in my whole teams fighting for baron (we have elder buff and can win 5v5) and my shaco is nowhere to be seen, he’s farming enemy red side jungle. I was tilted over it I won’t lie but I had ZERO idea what he was thinking, I just disliked him because he was a toxic player but NOT a bad player or anybody trying to lose the game. Long story short I completely forgot to take into account the enemy was open nexus and while we 4v5ed and lost the baron he backdoored and ended the game. He was thinking about something completely different but he was right, I was wrong.
A few episodes ago, Curtis talked about the pitfalls that players who learn the game through support can often fall victim to, and while I did agree with pretty much everything he said about it, I think what he says around 1:20:25 can be one of the biggest benefits of learning the game through support. I felt what it was like to indirectly carry the game by doing my job as a support before I ever learned how to carry the game by being the actual carry champion. I think that has really helped me establish a way of thinking that makes me feel satisfied and happy when I do my job well in a game, regardless of the outcome of the match, and that helps me mitigate tilt sooo much. Even though I main mid and typically play assassins now, I am grateful for what my time maining support taught me.
Another case study from my 2 favorite boots on ground investigators; Coach "Case by case" Curtis and Nathan "Love to see it" Mott. Let's get into the details!
This case study makes me so grateful for the ability to turn off chat entirely. If I saw even 3 messages from this player I'd be tilted. Call it "mentally weak" I'm here to play a video game, which is meant to be fun, not micromanaging whining teammates
Btw, he made a response to your video lol. It’s sort of hilarious. Dude is either performing as a character or is suffering from the case of Dunning-Krueger effect I’ve ever seen.
Just wanted to say I'm thankful to of discovered you guys, I've been playing since season 2, always been around platinum/breaking diamond. I lost my passion for this game for quite some time, due to developing a toxic mindset. Through listening to your guys podcast on spotify and watching on TH-cam I have been able to have an outlook of actually thinking what could I of done better each game, even in hopeless situations I continue thinking what to do in game and actively think about the game more as a whole. Long post, but I just wanted to express my gratitude and keep up the great work!
This was a wild case study. This man has an ego bigger than Tyler1 despite being in emerald. It makes sense that he thinks climbing to masters in 100% luck based. People who constantly buy fresh account to try and climb with are basically rolling the dice trying to winstreak to new peaks and exploit the MMR system rather than actually trying to improve at the game.
He made a response video in which it becomes clear he hasn't taken anything to heart. It's really entertaining to watch this level of delusion though, but also kind of sad.
The challanger vayne we used for comparison was SASKIOLOL, a great toplane/vayne coach who makes an emphasis in understanding waves and matchups, hes spoken alot about it :D
You guys are great! I have started climbing and have suggested my friends watch you guys. It is amazing how much mental attitude is connected to you climb. Positive attitude and focus on your own play will get you to climb. It's amazing how many games I win when behind early and FF 15 is never in your mind. Instead the mindset goes to focus up buttercup and what can we do to change things around. It's crazy how little the early game means in low elo. I have learned so much about mid and late game and how to come back by attitude and believing in my ability to adapt to what the game is starting to look like. Thanks guys for changing my attitude towards the game.
Hi Curtis and Nathan, I suggest to check out Grubby and his journey of recently learning League as a very positive example of someone who is curious and detail-oriented. He is a WC3 pro, so he is VERY experienced and talented with fast-paced PC gaming, which is important to keep in mind. But, his approach to learning is so genuine, curious, and clearly refined based on his past gaming experience that it could at least be very interesting to look into.
to be honest, he is not special. Every single person that is extremely good at a game can get good in another because you just get the same type of process. I played competitive tekken, got top 128 in evo years ago. I started playing league (like, really different compared to a fighting game) and i was bronze for some seasons; then i took it seriously the same way i took tekken before (basically looking at my mistakes, looking what over people do, practicing more mechanical stuff) and i got to masters a year later and got challenger too. People forget that if one human could do it, you too, because people are humans, and humans are able to learn many things if you just learn them the good way. Just look, there are people amazing at cooking, at games, at swimming. And every single one of them is a human. You can do whatever you want if you just put the time and make it in a smart way, and if you have previous experience in something similar, you can do it more easier. You can even see examples of people, look at adrian riven, insane league player and he did the opposite of mine, he started playing dragon ball fighterz, went to a tournament and he did amazing.
I do wanna note that Riots current reporting system is completely broken. I've gotten chat warnings for saying curse words to my friend in PARTY chat, because someone happened to report me that game.
I got a 5 match ranked ban cause I said “LMAO THAT WAS RETARDED” when my lee sin kicked the dragon and went flying for 10 seconds. edit: 5 match ban. not 5 day
@@wrwinter One day you can swear like a sailor and be fine, the next you say something benign like Damn, that's really stupid and get a warning for that game. The system cannot be explained, not even by Riot
That intro was so good, I need to re-watch it again! Edit. 28:31-29:12 reports mid for poor wave state while he himself also has a bad wave state 31:29 Typing in caps after death 45:16 Why the report system doesn't work
just wanna say watching the high elo vayne player bully the garen under tower and abuse the tower aggro is really inspiring to watch. BBC talks about it a lot, but when you watch someone high elo do something, it really is inspirational in a "holy shit you can really do that and do it that well and that consistently" kinda way
That's so funny: "in an acutely disturbed state of mind characterized by restlessness, illusions, and incoherence". Couldn't have summarized that better.
In that first one having to flash in reaction to the Garen after overstepping is the end of review moment. End of review and hopefully rethinking playing so many champions with no champ mastery.
I am baffled at 1:02:40 where he expresses that this player is "elo inflated" when they have very good win ratios across 4 out of 5 of their champions and have over 50% win rate in ranked overall. I don't understand, what does he expect a support to look like if winning more than half of their games isn't good enough?
Banger intro, lads! The TH-cam algorithm recommended me this creator after watching the BBC and after seeing tips about how to duo or what not I figured it wasn't good. Funny to see him end up on the channel!
I love that you say "emerald players are great players", its a refreshing push back to the commonplace narrative. Recently veigarv2 said "99% players in challenger are bad" lol
This guy Qing before he Es in that rengar clip sums up his champ mastery. The soldier was already being placed at max distance. He just didn't know he was rooted and panicked so hard. The cs numbers are so bad for azir, too. I get the feeling he tries to play every champ the same way.
I have noticed at least 1 thing that is the same between all these case studies. "It is luck to climb past X rank."... Neace has said it multiple times. This guy has said it. It is funny to think that the people that make challenger every season are just lucky and they never have any unlucky seasons.
This is actually the exact thing Ive wanted to find, but really couldnt find an in depth discussion on peoples mentality and really getting into the nitty gritty in how people who act like the one in the streams, it makes it extremely uncomfortable for those who just want to have a good game. Stressing out about every single thing in games just ruins the experience. Great video!
Picking all those champions reminds me of the Bruce Lee quote I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
gotta be honest i always feel like you take yourselves too seriously, but I just love these videos of yours. Very good commentary and above all I believe you are extremely healthy for the community. So much toxicity and ego in league when it could be so much better. Channels like this are definetely needed in league and broader in gaming community. Thanks
Hey I actually have been getting one of that guy's videos in my feed. I never clicked it, now I'm glad I didn't. Thanks for the great content as always guys, we need these sacrificial lambs to get the case studies out there. Had a rough 0-4 block today, but hoping to learn from reviews when I'm refreshed.
During the third section of reviewing his 'educational' video I actually related a lot to this guy. The way he gave good advice tbh but would do the opposite in game is something that I feel like I do all the time in reviews. It's so easy for me in a review to instantly recognize stupid plays I make and I'll tell myself 'ok don't gank with all camps are up' or 'that's a huge wave just let the laner collect it don't gank' but I keep doing these mistakes over and over. I can tell myself to only go for high percentage plays but in game idk I have a lot of work to do.
Well, knowing is the majority of the battle. Now, you just need to implement that knowledge in-game. Until you do, there is nothing anyone can do for you. You'll just struggle to climb efficiently
This has been super cool to see! Wholesome content that will for sure grow, thanks guys. Seems like you had a lot of fun doing it as well so congrats to the gem!
I just started the vid, but hearing someone say "when I lose it's a team problem 99% of the time" instantly lets me know that this person doesn't care about improving their own gameplay. It's technically true that if every game my entire team played p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-y, then I would be challenger, because they'd carry me lol. Why should I expect my team to play better than the enemy team every game? Shouldn't I expect a 50-50 split and tilt the balance in my favor by being better than my opponent as often as possible? Not understanding this fundamental idea is why people get stuck. No one who understands this and actively tries to improve their own gameplay stays stuck "because of their team".
I don’t really play league anymore. But I been watching from episode 1 (not every episode between). I love game theory and am a massive football (eu) fan and getting into coaching now. A lot of stuff applies cross sport mentally, awesome to see y’all still going Curtis
I'll say that Emerald's game quality does feel lower than some other elos, but this is definitely taking it to the extreme. This kind of behavior isn't healthy.
Absolutely loved this format. I don’t think this type of content is made enough. Showing the gameplay and a sample of how a high ranking player does the same match up is the best way to improve. It’s also evidence based instead of just sharing your opinion. Sub from me great video
I played on a second account I used to learn champions on, ended up having a 60%+ winrate over 70 games and once I hit emerald I was getting +16-32. Typically I play in D3-D2. Since this account ended somewhere in Plat last season and I only used it for learning. Once I climbed it up from plat the gains were terrible due to the MMR. I understood why the game was doing this but still gave me low gains high losses for the next 80 games while my winrate fell slightly. i was tilted and was trying to figure out how many more games I need to play to fix the MMR ( Even the diamond games had negative). I did come across this exact video on emerald. The only thought I had was DAMN this is a terrible video, nothing about climbing and what skills you should have for emerald, nothing about what skills you need to climb higher if your other skills are up to par. Nothing about games played VS MMR and winrate. I walked away from it untilted for fear of becoming like this guy...
Creating a TH-cam channel, getting famous, posting my games, and complaining about how the game is rigged solely so I can have you both give me a free vod review
This wasn't in League but there was a Valorant poll I saw asking about what people think the real "elo hell" rank is, and funnily enough the distrubution of votes is very similar to the actual distribution of ranks of players, most votes towards the "middle" rank and then lesser and lesser votes the farther you get away from the center like a bell curve. My interpretation is that people think their current rank is where elo hell is because they can't escape it, but that's really because that is their actual rank and they're no longer improving so they justify that the exact same rank they are is where elo hell is.
In the valo case id say its a bit different tho. Fps games have notoriously bad elo systems that can be abused easily with smurfs and such. Mid level elo will have the most smurfs and boosted accs in any fps title. Just putting that out
Its also important to know that they kind of hardlocked gains from emerald upwards to a variation of 20/-18 for standard mmr accounts. Extreme outliers can still exist but that is the overall rule in place atm to counter the lp inflation of last split. Phroxzone made a tweet about it.
I may be wrong, but from what I've heard capitalising on counterpicks has insane impact on lane specifically in top. I'm Gold, if I get filled top I just pick comfort because I can't properly execute every (top) counterpick.
this guy made a response and called u guys fake news......his behavior aside I really hate how he is using his platform. to be privileged to have that many eyes and ears on you and doing such a disservice to the game. i hope he can work on his mindset.
I watched this dudes video before, he reminds me of the streamer “Nic0le”. He always climbs on new accounts, his a wall where he falls or something and then goes another fresh account.
The main reason i dont play league competiitvely is that its so easy to fall into this team blame mindset, Im a super competitive player and I love grinding ranked but i believe in never blaming team and always tryna do my best/focus on improvement. But league is the one game that just gets in my head. Im sure i could work through it but i chose to focus more on fun in this game than skill and i enjoy it a lot more. whereas in val and ow im the opposite, but im able to preserve my mental and be a positive player in those games. Idk what it is about league that makes me feel more ragey than other games
I think it's because the matches are longer and they build on minute 1 like a chess game. So what others are doing affects the rest of the game that you're stuck playing out. In Valorant, although there's economy, the round resets constantly, so you're not stuck with someone's mistake to the same extent, you also don't have a bird's eye view of what everyone in your team is doing.
the game is design to psycological to make you a worse person it has not redo button no pause button and you lost more lp just for losing i think winning and losing should be even
For me it's the length of games. If you're having a bad game and are tilted, sitting and stewing in the negativity for 30+ minutes feels really bad and it's hard not to let it have a lasting effect.
@@eradawnz yeah i think its the length and pacing. Also sometimes another lane just loses so hard that you spend 10-15 mins trying to slow down your inevitable loss and it feels bad because even if you did do well in your own lane you just arent strong enough to stop the guy whose up 1-2 items
every time i have to deal with a vayne they are 3x as aggressive as this guy and i'm playing in normals at like silver/gold level I feel like he could have e+q'd as azir a few time but just didn't, but i think with the rengar gank he was trying to save the e til after rengar jumped out of a bush, so i wont judge that specific one. but yeah he has no mental
54:00 his lp gains were lowered because this season below emerald the average lp gain is 25 but they lower it to 20 for all players in ranks emerald and above. Gaining 20 would mean his rank and mmr are aligned.
I saw Necrit's last video about a rioter "debunking losers queue" and was baffled that the majority, scratch that, literally every comment is people unironically thinking it's real, feels like your work is hopeless guys, players are unfixable
Nice video; you really went through everything. I am stunned at how delusional he can be, I thought that at a certain level - yes he isn’t Challenger level as he claims, that’s for sure but he still have his place in Emerald I - Diamond IV -, you had enough experience to question the utility of blaming your team mates or the ranking system.. I think he is a deeply toxic person, that has issues way past League of Legends.
Hey people, he replied to this video and is super delusional. He dismisses almost every point and makes excuses like "I wasn't trying that game" and so on. Makes me mad that players like him exists, thinks he is same caliber player as challengers as he wants to skrim with them.
I also can’t help but draw the conclusion that this guy has heavily tied his personal identity to being good at league. He mentions in his video that he doesn’t have a job, and that he spends 16 hours a day playing league. It’s VERY hard to invest that level of time into something and then have to admit to yourself that you’re still not as good as you think you should be.
There are a lot of studies on Grandiose Narcissism. I never thought I’d see one in depth with a LoL player. Nevertheless we need more of these. Thanks guys!
This reminds me of an iron player who called teammates trolls. I watched the vod and thought, what's the difference between your game play with horrendously low kda(
As someone who can sometimes fall into this mindset he has, it is good to see how unbelievably cringe this behavior is from the outside. It allows me to look inward and do my best to behave and perform better on the rift.
tbh don't blame low elo players when they blame their teammates I don't say they are right but, I always see in my Twitter or Twitch challenger players say "Losers queue, winners queue...etc" How do you expect us not to get infected with this bad behavior?! and many many other bad stuff. Do we stop watching? I even start to mute the sound of the streamer. 😥
Great episode today, friends! Really liked the content in this one, very relatable to some of my misgivings when I play ranked! Hope you both don't over exert yourself making this great content, remember to rest and relax :)
The best thing I ever did was start to play competitive league. Since playing with my team I have really learned to only look at myself. And when judging others on the team it’s more a conversation of what we all could do better. Sure sometimes frustrations come out. But you always have to look at yourself first. But sure your team in solo queue at times can cost the game. Nothing is impossible. But it always starts with you! Good video
I agree I can only blame myself for my mistake. I mainly play support and if I lose a 2v2 early trying to get a lead then I usually always find a mistake where I couldve played better.
1. You have to manually click the spells. Riot knows about this feature, its on Porofessor. If it was considered cheating by them. They'd have them remove it. 2. I dont even think he uses it, all the clips i see have none of them on timers.
he plays between 10 to 18 games a day every time that he can, no wonders his accounts end with bad mmr, if you are tilt queuing all the time of course you are going to keep ruining your lp gains.
the reason he wins so many games on a row, is beacuse he loses a lot of games too. So he goes on lower elo and then he wins a lo in a row because of this
The whole flaw with the ranked system in league is that it is a linear ranking system designed for a non-linear game(people are at certain ranks because they know a certain thing well enough, not neccesarily they know everything to be expected of a player at their rank)
I used to think like this guy about the LP gains... BUUUUUT i keep pushing forward. After a LOT of years of falling short, i finally reached Diamond 3.

Join us in dissecting the common narratives that plague our community such as:
- Blaming teammates for their mistakes, while not taking accountability for their own
- Ignorance towards how their in-game decisions are affecting the outcome of the game.
- Putting a disproportionate amount of attention towards matchmaking (losers queue)
- Thinking about and discussing the game in absolutes.
- The dangers of champion and role hopping. Constantly looking for the next LP gimmick
And many more...
Finally, two questions for you:
1) Does Dillerus represent the type of player you want to have on your team?
2) Have you ever found yourself exhibiting any of the above behaviours? If so, how has it impacted your journey?
1) no I'd really rather not have Dillerus on my team.

As a Vanye top main getting to Challenger yourself, any tips for the BBC community Sorest? Or Garen matchup specifics to help Dillerus. - Nathan
From here on, I will go into some more specific mistakes with time stamps:
14:01 - Q's instead of auto + Q to maximize dmg
14:03 - Autos instead of E'ing Garen into the wall (proceeds to blame he couldn't E but it was due to him inputting an auto attack and then losing vision afterwards).
I went full nerd here, but I want to highlight how much there is to it, if you want to reach the absolute highest level, here is where your attention should to be.
this was awesome to read, thanks!@@CoachSorest
I don't play Vayne, I don't play top, but seeing Garen get the first 3 cs for free and taking no punishment for it hurts inside
This is what we call GETTING INTO THE DETAILS. Great stuff!@@CoachSorest
I'm a jungle main and I know this
never noticed the tower timing
Same in reverse. You wanna play footsies based on this timing to avoid being harassed under turret or even make the harassment punishable if they get greedy about it.
Learned something new thank you!
im bronze and suck so hard and I KNOW THIS!!! def no excuse for a guy framing himself as 'challenger' or whatever
While that's true, turrets legitimately used to have a wind-up timer after selecting a new target. Probably been a long time since that was reduced though.

“Being harder on others than on your self” is such a terrible attitude yet it’s quite common that’s a sad state for any community to be in. Thanks Nathan and Coach for teaching a productive outlook
It is not only common in the league bubble, but pretty much all around the western world. It is sad.
sad part is hes soft af
In solo queue, I focus on myself. When I play in the amateur league I play in, I am very aware of when I am playing well or bad. However, due to being part of a team, I am VERY critical of my teammates. It's harder to win in a pre-made team environment if people aren't pulling their own weight than it is in solo queue. Also, unlike solo queue, I am actively playing with the same people over and over again. In solo queue, I MIGHT get you two games in a row. The only consistent thing is me being in my own lobbies every game. The same can't be said for pre-made team games.
People like Nathan and Curtis restore my faith in the community =w=

It's so painful to watch this gameplay with what he's saying. The disconnect is surreal and I love that you guys take the time to break this down
It's actually crazy how after I started watching you guys I started seeing your sentiment about champ mastery reflected in a lot of other high elo streamers. I thought "woah that's what da boys at BBC would have said".
i agree you gotta know your champ but i see people letting towers die all the time for literally nothing, they need macro.
@@someguy-zg2qfnot nearly as important as playing your role/champ well
@@someguy-zg2qfdo they need macro or is this happening cause they arent intune with their champion?
Two things that stuck out to me:
1) It seems some of his toxicity is because his life is in a rough place (that quick comment about being jobless)
2) “Your rank defines your worth” He has to delude himself because it would be too painful to accept where he is at.
it’s really sad and very common with league.
When you see "Case study" in the title, you know it's going to be a banger episode. lol

I'm sure this hits close to all us league players and I for one can take away a lot of personal learning lessons from this case study.
I think this would be a great idea - its been a blast to watch grubby learn league and would make for a great video @BrokenByConcept
to be honest, he is not special.
I've gotten chat warnings for saying curse words to my friend in PARTY chat, because someone happened to report me that game.

just wanna say watching the high elo vayne player bully the garen under tower and abuse the tower aggro is really inspiring to watch. BBC talks about it a lot, but when you watch someone high elo do something, it really is inspirational in a "holy shit you can really do that and do it that well and that consistently" kinda way
Is his username a play on words with 'Delirious'? If so thats just perfect 😂
That's so funny: "in an acutely disturbed state of mind characterized by restlessness, illusions, and incoherence".
Couldn't have summarized that better.
His first mistake Vayne vs Garen is that she has a Long Sword instead of Doran's Blade.
At the viego gank at 31:00 Vayne loses a quarter of his HP from minion aggro LMFAOOOOO.
lmao that intro.

Recently veigarv2 said "99% players in challenger are bad" lol
curtis's passion discussing how hurtful bad mentalities are is so awesome lol, great episode
The funny thing in the League community is that "challenger level" usually means that the person is not challenger.
Yea, the challenger every season on multiple accounts sometime even multiple accounts in the top 10, obviously pure luck /s lol
Picking all those champions reminds me of the Bruce Lee quote
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
That intro really put a smile on my face :D
gotta be honest i always feel like you take yourselves too seriously, but I just love these videos of yours.
Great episode, kind of humbling as well. I find myself blaming others more often than I should. Luckily I don't think I'm quite at this level LOL
The news-report intro is so good!
keep it up guys!
how delusional can someone be to say they have challenger level *anything* when they have never been challenger?
I walked away from it untilted for fear of becoming like this guy...
great episode! this is a more common mindset than it should be in league and hopefully it changes for the better over time!
Just putting that out
very slick intro, great video so far

Love your guys' case studies!
Top laners are built different the thoughtful human to whining sociopath ratio is 1:50. Great episode from Nathan and Curtis as per usual.
that's so wild, i was just recommended one of his videos, and watched him for the first time this morning
This is the epitome of "You can't move forwards if you're constantly stopping to pat yourself on the back."
The speed he reported that bard was insane. When I am trying to report someone, the game ends meanwhile I find the right button.
Great episode today, friends! Really liked the content in this one, very relatable to some of my misgivings when I play ranked! Hope you both don't over exert yourself making this great content, remember to rest and relax :)
I think this is the first time a sponsership besides meundies from the official podcast was actually something that was useful for me. super legit!
Curtis had way too much fun with this one 🤣
The best thing I ever did was start to play competitive league. Since playing with my team I have really learned to only look at myself. And when judging others on the team it’s more a conversation of what we all could do better. Sure sometimes frustrations come out. But you always have to look at yourself first. But sure your team in solo queue at times can cost the game. Nothing is impossible. But it always starts with you! Good video
I agree I can only blame myself for my mistake. I mainly play support and if I lose a 2v2 early trying to get a lead then I usually always find a mistake where I couldve played better.
Lol such a positive comment for a game thts so negative.
@@Cherry-pu4mx all about positivity my friend
I am about half an hour into this and I just noticed his Cheater-Cheater-Pumpkin-Eater summoner tracker.
I didn’t even know you could report midgame
1. You have to manually click the spells. Riot knows about this feature, its on Porofessor. If it was considered cheating by them. They'd have them remove it.
2. I dont even think he uses it, all the clips i see have none of them on timers.
I needed this video. I had a win streak and it gave me an ego. Stopped climbing. That's for the reality check.
he plays between 10 to 18 games a day every time that he can, no wonders his accounts end with bad mmr, if you are tilt queuing all the time of course you are going to keep ruining your lp gains.
the reason he wins so many games on a row, is beacuse he loses a lot of games too. So he goes on lower elo and then he wins a lo in a row because of this
Love the new edits you guys included hahaha, Cherry on top to this SHOCKING video
"This minion right here is a hater." Is actually hilarious 😂
His teammates arent bad! They are just testing their theories that the system is bad by feeding for 46 games in a row!
This guy could resurrect the old art of vayne-spotting by himself, you could make stellar scores with him.
great video guys, the edits had me crackin up lol
The whole flaw with the ranked system in league is that it is a linear ranking system designed for a non-linear game(people are at certain ranks because they know a certain thing well enough, not neccesarily they know everything to be expected of a player at their rank)
I used to think like this guy about the LP gains... BUUUUUT i keep pushing forward. After a LOT of years of falling short, i finally reached Diamond 3.
