These guys are legendary. They pour their hearts and souls into their music. They deserve this honor.
I am puzzled by the people sitting in their seats and not honoring them by standing and singing.
If I missed this then please correct me.
It was great but they deserve even greater.
Best group of the 70's. Still strong in 2024, still listening my favourite
Walter is the coolest man on the planet and he’s almost 80.
I totally Agree 💯💯💯💯💯🎤🎼🎤🎼🎤🎼🎤🎼🥰
i agree ,, Mr Smooth
Money is nt everything. It is. For those who want to b right with the use of it. But now we have so many golddiggers who only for good times and help u spend every dime.😢😢 5:47 😢😊
Totally agree very seldom see him without a hat
The Ojays have always been a talented group and they still are since I first saw them perform in the 80s. I wish them all well as they enter their retirement. Their music will never fade away because their fans realize their contributions to the music industry and they are truly loved by their fans!❤❤
Sammy Strain has been part of TWO groups on the Hall of Fame, as a member of Little Anthony & The Imperials as well.....he TRULY gets my props!
The music that will never die. 2024 and still listening to this music
This group is the embodiment of the "Philadelphia sound". They so richly deserved their induction into the Hall of Fame.
❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💬💯💯💯💯💯💯
Nope, the origin was Canton and Cleveland before they came to Philadelphia.
YES MSB back them but those vocals Canton and Cleveland talent. Just as Howard Hewitt, James Ingram and Phillip Ingram and the group Switch.
Since I was a kid I always loved O'jays! They are Marvelous 😊
The greatest soul group of all-time. I am big lover the Motown sound. Grew up with. The Temps, Four Tops etc. But the longevity of the O’Jays in undeniable. Seen them numerous time. They never cheat the audience. Truly legendary!
It’s cool they doing their song with four members
This performance gave me chills. Great job O'Jays
So underrated
He has an awesome voice also his singers with him .God is blessing you all 🙏😊😊
We were blessed to live in an era of music that was rich with lyrics and melodies. .
Sammy Strain STILL GOT THOSE SMOOTH MOVES.
Sammy never missed a step years ago, doesn't miss one here either, what class act!
I think Sammy is an original member of Little Anthony and The Imperials
He is about that smooth dancing life. I love it.
I'm glad to see Sammy back with the group he seems to be having a real good time
ABSOLUTE CLASS.
Total CLASS.
Bravo Gentleman!!! Walter and Eddie are legends BECAUSE they stayed together.
What a class act to have Sammy Strain on that stage. Honestly, I didn't realize until a few years ago that Sammy had replaced William Powell (RIP) in the 70s. The looked so much alike! Congrats to Eric also.
Absolute class gentlemen. Thank you!
The best part is they look grateful for a magical career and seem genuinely happy. What a great band.
So much fun
I met Walter Williams a few times. once I asked him what his favorite O’Jays song to perform was and he quickly answered “Love Train”. He said Eddie’s was “Backstabbers”and “For the love of money”. Walter is an extremely kind and gentle man.
That era of singers who honed their craft on the chitlin cuircit in the 40's/50' & into the civil rights 60's will never happen again...all new soul music is based on their real talent...I just don't see new generation soul singers that can match those that actually struggled for real
Love compassion joy peace prayers
Amen
Agreed
Amen
I love me some Walter Williams always 2019
The O'jays, the Spinners, the Stylistics, the list can go on and on. Great times and great tunes. Sounds as wonderful today as when I first heard them on AM radio. Original and authentic.
Chi lites and Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions too
Ooh don’t even talk about those Stylistics. I love these groups. Respect!
Russell Thompkins jr lead singer of Stylistics for over 30 years is still performing at 71 years old. With his Stylistics.
1580 K-DAY in Los Angeles & KGFJ
Don't forget the Whispers....
This is absolute real classic music, they just don't do it like this anymore?
The O'jays are one of the best groups ever!!
I was in junior high school in LA, listening to to my girl sung by lead vocal David Ruffin. I’m sorry I can’t dance ,sing or tell jokes but I do known one thing the 1960’s of the Temptations, Smokey, Four Tops remain the best regardless who came after them. Just my opinion as a 72 yr old Soul Brother still in LA listening only to the oldies.
I just LOVE Sammy Strain!!!!! ❤
When I listen to this ... everything else fades away ... and I am present and in the moment, it's beautiful ...
The man with the most memorable and distinctive voice - Mr Eddie Levert! O Jays we miss you guys.
HOT,HOT,HOT! These guys are better than ever, with deeper and seasoned voices.
If I could turn a cartwheel I would.
The O'Jays are fantastic. The four of them need to get together and do a mega concert. It will be a sell out. I'll be there I love these guys.
That's a greatest group I have ever had
They should have been inducted long before 2005., IMO. They are the real thing.
Mighty ojays, the best ❤❤❤❤❤
Motown (and other similar) has always been my personal favorite style of music. You cant get any better than the OJays, Commodores, Four Tops, Temps...simply great music.
Don't forget the women. Dianna Ross Aretha and all the girls of Motown. They were all Fabulous.! Love this music.
Amen..
Exactly, Motown, Philly and STAX. STAX had Etta and Aretha
Just watched the Ojays get there star In Philly today. It was long overdue 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
5 stars💞🐎🇺🇸💃🙏

I just remember being a kid sailing around the skating rink on fire!!! Thinking this my people liberating me!!! Keep it rolling!!!
I was super proud for them!!! A well deserved moment for a great group of guys who went through hardships and triumphs in a very difficult business of music. Not selfish and they had Sammy Strain perform with them too?! Love them! One of my all time favorite groups!
I love them especially Walter!
Better than Levi Stubbs?
David, Levi, Marvin, Smokey,Stevie,Junior Walker,I Was So Privileged To Spend My Teenage Years Listening To Tamla And Seeing My Favourite Favourite Artists Gig In England,Absolutely Superb , Led The Way Their Music Still Sounds So Fresh Today, Pioneers For Black Artists In Their Time, Many Have Gone But Their Sweet Music Lives Forever.

These Gentlemen are A Class Act! Simply Phenomenal!
These guys are sharp!
Just don't get (no) betta....
about time...RIP, William Powell...who was the glue of the group in their earliest days with Philly International Records.
I love that they sang Backstabbers to a room full of crooked/ thieving music execs lol
LOL yep
TEACH THE TRUTH!!!
@bisquitnspanky Either you don't work in the record business or you're a record exec bitter because someone told the truth. Pick one.

These guys epitomized 1970's soul music! Fantastic and many awesome memories with this great sound as the backdrop! Thank you guys!

God, this is pure class, sorry to say, these days are long gone, pure soul
Smokey look like he did more than sign her to the Motown, one of the top men at motown. She surely became one of the best.
New Edition did amazing job and The Spinners were long over due for the induction

UNBELIEVABLE!!! I was 16yo when they really hit it. Listened and liked them. Obviously, I wasn't paying attention? Took me 50 years to find out who they really were? Now, they are one of my TH-cam staples.
