I googled this perfume and am suprised lots of people do not like it. I am in love with it, smelled it once and could not get it out of my head anymore. Had to get it.
I own this perfume and this just screams personality in a bottle. I am personally a girly girl but I love wearing pants and a lot of darker coloured clothes so this suits me well. :)
Twilly's original and Twilly's samples were love at first scent. They are very special and easy to wear at the same time. I'm 29 and my mum is 67, we both wear them.
I’m a guy and I’m planning on buying this for my first woman’s fragrance in my very small fragrance collection. I spayed it on my arm today at the store and I can’t stop sniffing it!
Gave this the most cursory of sniffs at Sephora and was instantly, unexpectedly smitten. It reminds me of a woodier and less screechy YSL Paris. Same overall "pink" hue, but more modern and playful. Some reviews I've read make this sound aggressively peppery and woody, but I find it quite soft and almost creamy once the opening fades. Anyone afraid of spicy notes needn't fear Eau Poivrée, I should think.
My sample came in the mail a couple of days ago and I completely agree it’s a blast of pepper/pencil shavings at first! After wearing it once I was sold, it really transforms on the skin. Will definitely be getting a full size!
I really enjoyed this review. Your personality is so warm and inviting. I have recently fallen in love with the world of fragrance and this version of Twilly was so intriguing I had to get it. Look forward to tuning into your other reviews!
Thank you for this excellent, objective review! As an independent girl, I love wearing youthful, unpredictable scents and fresh styles with demure, retro sensibilities, so I am excitedly awaiting the arrival of my new Twilly Poivree! I remembered years ago smelling the original Twilly and liking it despite the amount of flowers in it, just liking it "at first sniff," but didn't buy it as I had to run catch my flight. Now, I remembered that and agree that the new one may actually be even better! When I saw the ad, I said, "There I am!" The actual fragrance may not disappoint! Yay!!!
Yes, and thank you for your message! Sorry for my result and how long this is, but I was very surprised at Twilly as well! I do get the retro vibe, which is a great idea for me, but what I'm smelling on my skin is more vintage, which is so attractive but doesn't work when I try to wear it myself. I think it's the powder. I have very mixed feelings on this. I can feel the sophistication, and it immediately took me back to grade school in a magical way, but the heavy dose of powder (on my skin) made it more like fond memories of my teachers and outings with my family and lovely grandma. Wonderful, beautiful, comforting aroma, but far too powdery for my Spring personality to pull off with any degree of believeability. I do appreciate that it's not too sweet, though it does run a little sweet on me, but I'm thinking I should try The Girl by Tommy Hilfiger (not T Girl or Tommy Girl). I already adore the flanker of Anais Anais (Premier Delice) for indoors, which nearly intoxicated me on the spot with its stunning, green, juicy freshness. It's sweet but green and doesn't feel too saccharine because of the insanely good chocolate note grounding everything. I believe those two suit effervescent, quirky, fresh characters with slightly retro, childlike vibes, but I haven't actually tried The Girl yet. I think that would be great for work/errands because it sounds amazing, unique, and fresh, but not too bold, which is a comfortable plus for anytime I'm outside. The more I try and then make mistakes, the more I learn, and I hope this was helpful for anyone trying to figure out a signature scent (or several, lol). I can easily see Twilly Eau Poivree on a privileged young girl with more of an airy, dry, edgy, perhaps slightly tough essence, spontaneous but poker-faced cool. (For some odd reason, I'm picturing Gwyneth Paltrow.) As it dries down, its rare qualities begin to emerge even more, and I'm even a bit jealous of anyone who can wear this.
Thanks! The more I sit with it and occasionally smell it, the more I like it, but it's still a little too powdery for me. I am considering the Eau Ginger for work. Have you sampled that one?
You’re more than welcome 😊 Thank YOU for watching. I have to say, I’m more impressed with this flanker than I thought I could be. Its gently old-school vibe is beautiful.
I thought Christiane Nagel will crush the rose cannon, like she did with tuberouse adding the fizzy ginger note. Anyway, like you've mentioned - there is some vintage retro Cabochard/Agent Provocateur thing going on, but I swear I can smell tomato leaf and wild strawberry leaves! Its a reconstruction of a classic chypre with modern molecules and unorthodox notes . LOVE .
Thanks for watching. The question of ‘how many sprays’ is completely personal. It depends on the effect you want to create. I’d say this perfume has a very clear, distinct presence; it doesn’t keep too close to the skin.
@@Persolaise Thank you so much for responding. l really appreciate that. After l read what you written, yes that makes a whole lot of sense. So, l already purchased it and waiting for it to arrive, so l will just try one spray and if anything apply more if needed. Again, Thanks for replying🙂

@@Persolaise I blind bought a full bottle & I LOVE IT! The woodyness is what I adore the most. It's also long lasting on my skin. Whenever I wear it, my granddaughter (4yr old), closes her eyes & say "you smell SO GOOD!" 😍😍😍
@@lameshahale2990 Hi, it's so sweet of you to write back. And your granddaughter has great taste! I'm so pleased (and relieved!) that you like the perfume.
Yes! So many people mentioned pencil shavings as a bad smell, but that's what excited me the most too, and it's so rare! I actually loved writing my whole life, and pencil shavings remind me of school and projects that I couldn't get out of my head! Brilliant!!!
@@Persolaisei got twilly last year! And used it during a trip to buenos aires (on winter, cold cold days) and i loved it! I still need eau de rhubarbe ecarlate. Love your videos and wisdom mister p!
I realize I’m a year late; just discovered you on TH-cam and having a bit of a binge. Absolutely loving every video. Talk of tuberose made me think of Louis Vuitton’s Turbulences which, of course, also combines jasmine and leather. What are your thoughts on this fragrance? I like it a lot, personally, but don’t reach for it that often because it is so potent. 🌸

With sample of Twilly from Sephora, would open vial, barely touch throat, and adored that. A full spray will take you down, could stop a rhino!! I will likely find glass applicator vial for my $35 (thanks Marshall’s)Eau Poivree. Spray cotton ball, touch some to self, stuff rest into toes of shoes would work too!
