    I bought it the year it was released luckily. It is a stunner that just makes everyone smile. What’s not to love? It’s everything a perfume should be.

    I have the version of Eau Premiere in the tall bottle, and it is my favorite of the No. 5s. My bottle of L’Eau was given to my 30-something daughter, who admired its lightness. So that worked out well! I’m catching up with all your videos, so you might find a comment from me scattered here and there. Thank you for the care and hard work you put into your videos.

      @@Persolaise Of course, am happy to share. Quartana Wolfsbane, Tauer Lonestar Memories (LDDM just seemed flat and a tad dull on my skin for some reason) and will be adding L'eau too, and both the Gallivant and Jusbox houses, I have LA and Istanbul from Gallivant and may pick up London and 5 from Jusbox, Green Bubble, Use Abuse, Feel N Chill, Cheeky Smile and 14 Hour Dream....I think that's it for now!

    What a very poetic blotter update! I recently ran out of no5 edp and had the chance to get a 2015 1/3 of a bottle of this. It is beautiful and very alive. It can smell so different depending on what I have not found out yet. Tonight it smells a lot of the original no5, just a bit calmer and more vanillic. However I have also worn it when it was more austere and woody smelling. I'll not say more.......can't keep up with the poetry.....

    I'm late to the party but I had to share my point of view about the animalic facets of Number 5 & Eau Première. Number 5 smells (to me) of warm human skin more than any raw animalic product and Eau Première while not fleshy (or animalic) has a beautiful and very interesting short hair fur texture I always admired and loved,

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's fascinating, thank you. I confess, I've never found No 5 to be animalic, but definitely 'intimate' and human smelling.

    I really like this new format. I also wanted to suggest you do one new release and one cult classic fragrance in each video. You could have different criteria such as notes in common, fougères, tobacco, etc. Or an original or v8ntage such as Channel 5 and the latest flanker of it. You get my drift... 😉

    I know this was a long time ago and I hope you'll see this. I have No. 5 but I really don't like the aldehydic top notes. A few people have mentioned Eau Premiere is a softer, warmer take on No.5 but then others say it's a lighter sheerer version. I really want to buy it but I'm really hoping it's softer and cosier. I love the base notes of No. 5 but those cold top notes really spoil it for me. Is it true Eau Premiere strips back the aldehydes? If so it would be PERFECT for me.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm...interesting question. I would say that if the aldehydes leave you cold, you probably need to stay away from No. 5 altogether. Which version have you been smelling? Have you compared the edt with the edp? And have you ever smelt Hermes Caleche or Chanel’s own Bois Des Iles?
      Thanks for watching.

    Just discovered your channel! I also have Eau Premiere in the tall bottle. I like it but I wore it to the office once and it did not get a good reaction, even though it’s a tamer version of No 5! I also like L’Eau and that one doesn’t offend anyone. I think Chanel and others are trying to make fragrances that you can wear in any environment that people can easily understand. I have many more interesting fragrances, but can only wear these in certain situations.

    Bonjour Dariush, c'est la nuit du réveillon (pour la nouvelle année) et je suis en train de regarder tes vidéos sur les différents Chanel n°5! 😂 J'écris en français pour cette fois, désolée, mais j'imagine que tu as la possibilité de traduire avec Google ! Aussi je me permets d'utiliser le tutoiement parce que le français est plus guindé/compliqué que l'anglais où tout est simple avec le "you" et de toute manière sur internet ça paraît moins difficile de tutoyer.
    J'ai la chance de posséder le N°5 en eau de parfum, et depuis aujourd'hui l'eau de toilette du N°5 que j'ai acheté en vaporisateur rechargeable. À cette occasion j'ai demandé un échantillon de l'Eau première en EDP ! Je suis couverte d'aldéhydes 😂
    Je dirais qu'à mon nez amateur je sens le N°5 comme une sorte de drogue à la rose et au santal que j'adore et qui me rassure, c'est étrange ! Je dis drogue car j'imagine que c'est l'effet qu'on a quand quelque chose nous monte directement au cerveau ! Peut-être que c'est le "most earthbound" pour ça comme tu as dit dans une autre vidéo ! L'ayant senti en dernier après tous les autres, je dirais que c'est le plus puissant dans le sens où on dirait qu'il tient sur un tronc de vétiver et de mousse. C'est celui que je préfère porter je pense.
    Le N°5 en eau de toilette, je le sens comme une sorte de mousse de savon, un peu comme le début de Rive Gauche en eau de toilette de YSL, un savon de luxe à l' Ylang ylang. C'est celui que je préférerais sentir plutôt sur quelqu'un d'autre ! (mais je le porterai quand même)
    L'Eau première en eau de parfum est la plus bizarre, ou alors la plus ouverte comme tu l'as écrit dans ton article sur les parfums "open minded" d'automne en 2019. C'est le plus moderne et comme tu dis il me fait penser à l'encens, par exemple l'encens dans Cuir Beluga de Guerlain. C'est celui qui m'inspire le plus !
    Et rien à voir, mais j'ai aussi demandé un échantillon de Coco et je crois me souvenir que c'est un préféré de Madame Persolaise. Il est fantastique, je l'adore comme un cocktail une nuit où on a déjà un peu trop bu 😬😂 Tout se mélange un peu mais je sens de la vanille, des fleurs exotiques, du laurier (bizarre ! ), quelque chose de piquant et rassurant à la fois, comme si j'étais ma mère qui faisait la fête (je crois qu'elle a déjà porté Shalimar) mais que j'étais aussi ma propre personne qui a une allure phénomènale dans son manteau d'hiver ! Bref, peut-être qu'il ne faut pas en abuser mais ça a l'air d'être un ami sur lequel on peut compter ! Sali Hughes l'a comparé à l'odeur du Coca Cola, je vois ce qu'elle veut dire maintenant ! Un Coca Cola qui me va droit au cœur, un peu comme le N°5 en eau de parfum me va droit au cerveau :) Merci pour tout ton dévouement à réaliser des vidéos si passionnantes. Tu as réussi à attirer une communauté mondiale et diverse qui est aussi agréable, éduquée et amusante que toi, d'après ce que l'on peut lire dans les commentaires. Maintenant il faut vraiment que je termine mes études pour me trouver un travail qui justifie cette passion du parfum ! Par exemple pour mettre la main sur quelques uns des autres parfums "ouverts d'esprit" que tu listes dans ton article de 2019 ! (Déclaration, Mémoire d'une odeur, Twilly eau poivrée, parmi les plus connus... )

      Wow! What a wonderful comment to receive, thank you. And yes, Google was most helpful 😉
      I love that we can have such a detailed discussion about different versions of *the same* perfume. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. And the Coca Cola line is very apt, I think.

      May I suggest a dedication to a scent released 50 years ago? For example, Paco Rabanne's Calandre made its debut in 1969. I was gifted a miniature as a young teen and it started my own personal journey into fragrance. Sadly not so easy to get hold of over here in UK. But of course as this is your segment, the fragrance should reflect your own personal journey or memory.

I went today to buy the new current version of the Chanel no 5 eau premier and it is not what I remember that was in the longer bottle, and it was so watered down and actually very unpleasant to my nose. Smells nothing like the bottle you have here. So, I went straight to EBay to find the version you have in this review and found it. Phew! I was saved. 😅
